I got my septum pierced August, 13th 2024 and my vertical labret done on March, 8th of this year. It's now October and my piercings look and feel so good, no migration or piercing bumps. I came in for a jewelry removal, long stroy short I was in a bad way with my nose piercing (I did not originally get peirced at Golden Rule) anyway my nose was swollen and the jewelry was stuck and it was painful so I was really nervous as to what was going to happen to get it out. Faith was beyond amazing, so kind and gentle she explained everything fully and completely both when it came to cost and the process and options to remove the jewelry. Faith made me feel comfortable, and relaxed in a not so relaxing situation she was professional and knowledgeable. She definitely made every attempt to make the process as pain-free as possible. Honestly disappointed after coming here for years on end. I got my industrial pierced a few months back & the bar was SO gruesome during healing, I had to take it out & replace it with two smaller bars. Come to find out, my piercings will not heal because 1. they were pierced incorrectly 2. they were not measured pre-piercing 3. they are crooked. I had a fantastic experience with my nipples, and all 4 holes on my nose. However, after being a re-occurring customer for plenty of years & being denied a refund, I am disappointed. I understand everyone needs to get paid, but this piercing was done so wrong it isn't even funny.. I have gotten other piercings since this one, NOT at Golden Rule & it's safe to say, every professional opinion I have received agrees that this was a horrible mistake made to my ear. A mistake that could've been avoided at that. Will not go back to Aaron after this one... I should note, they offered to take my bars out & let them heal & allow a free piercing from it, but considering the pain of an industrial and the fact I now have scar tissue there, it should've been done right the first time. Just left this place feeling very awkward. I brought my two daughters here for a nose piercing. While I was there, I was interested in getting some advice about tattooing being as I'm an aspiring tattoo artist myself. I asked the front desk lady if she was a tattoo artist and she that she wasn't, but that the man sitting on the couch was and that I could talk to him with any questions. I apologies to the artist because he was reading, and asked him if I could get some basic advice with some tattoo questions. He literally said "no" and got up and left. My two daughters heard him and it became very awkward. I ended up having a conversation with them about how some people just have bad energy somedays and that we shouldn't let it ruin our day. Can't speak for the actual process of getting a piercing here. What I can say is that I took my niece here twice to get her cartilage pierced and both times were a fail. The first time, we filled out the paperwork and the front desk told us to come back in 40 min. We came back within the timeframe and they said it would be another hour. The second time, we filled out the paperwork and again front desk said it would be roughly an hour. We were about to head in when we got a call saying that the piercer was taking a nearly 2 hr lunch. That's fine, but we didn't want to wait so we decided to find a different place. The overall organization is terrible, maybe you'd have better luck if they accept appts, otherwise don't waste your time. read more

I had been a loyal customer of Golden Rule for almost 15 years. They've done at least a dozen piercings and two tattoos for me in that time. However I will never give them any more business. The business decided to make a public statement against the use of masks to prevent the spread of covid19. Which is now a state mandated law. This has me concerned for any other state and cdc mandated health guidelines and protocols that they may deem ridiculous. How many guidelines aren't being followed? Also, one of the masks they made which had things like "F**k Inslee" and "I can't eat" also stated "I can't breathe". Obviously mocking the death of George Floyd. I got my first tattoo here and it went beautifully I was 18 and I still love it. So of course I went back for my second one I couldn't remember who did my first one so when booking the appt they set me up with Brian it was pretty standard basic tattoo that took ten minutes. It's definitely not horrible but it is going to be on my wrist for the rest of my life so I would of liked it to have been better for sure. Number one it's crooked and he must use a heavy hand because to this day a year and half later it's raised and the ink has definitely bleed and I feel like it has gotten worse recently needless to say I will never be returning here. read more

She made me feel nothing just relaxed and comfortable-which is very important when you are just showing a stranger your bare body, lol. Got the worst tattoo of my life here! Tattoo "artist" didn't use black ink but used a faded dark blue color instead. My tattoo was just 4 words and he completely messed it up with his shaky hand. Worst part was the ink bled under my skin leaving a permanent blue halo on my tattoo. My tattoo looked like I had it done 15 years ago in a friends garage. The guy that did the tattoo said he guarantees his work and would do touch ups but there's no way I'd ever set foot near that guy or this place again. I was so embarrassed to show my tattoo. I had to spend more money to get a cover up done on my awful tattoo by a way more talented artist in a different shop. Cant speak for the other artists in this shop but there are better artists (than the guy that tattooed me) in other shops within the same area that I found so I would never risk it and come back to this shop. I did walk in right during the lunch hour but she had informed me it would be a moment or two and I was fine with the wait. When I asked about pricing she told me 25 and then when I cashed out it turned out to be closer to 40 because the initial price she told me was only for the jewelry, and that was a little sneaky in my opinion but not a reason to not go back if I need another piercing. I've gotten my tragus, septum, and nipples pierced here and I've never had a bad experience. Pre covid I got my tragus done by Ramona and my septum done by Jen and both healed super easily and I had no issues with them. The other night was my first time getting a piercing post covid and it was still a super easy experience. Jen got me in same day to do my nipple piercings which I was super nervous about but she did a great job and answered any questions I had, and even had me laughing as she did them. She had the perfect balance of professionalism as well as humor which I feel like you need when you're getting a area like your nipples pierced, she explained what she was doing each step of the way and I wasn't uncomfortable at all Post covid it seems super sterile still (although they were already really clean before covid) they had a station with masks and hand sanitizer and they took my temperature. They still wear gloves obviously, and still let you keep the pen after they use it to mark where your piercing will go (which it's always reassuring to know the marker they use is fresh and hasn't touched 50 other people) I really like the atmosphere here, they don't use fake customer service talk with me, but while also still remaining professional and upfront. Obviously expect to spend money here, because a quality piercing with a experienced piercer with quality jewelry isn't going to be cheap, and I feel like a lot of people don't realize that when they're used to getting special deals at the mall with the piercing guns that damage your ears. Of course one is going to be more expensive than the other, but unlike with the piercing gun at Claire's done by a teenager who was given little training, the piercings you get at a professional shop are going to look good, heal nicely, and not cause problems down the road read more

I came in to get a new stud for my nose piercing post because I lost my old one. The place was nice but I waited 30 minutes and then the person who helped me was not very communicative. I asked for helping getting the new stud into my nose and the person who did it was very rough and stuck the forceps pretty far up my nostril. I like the stud but I will not be returning because of the service. read more
