Henderson has the absolute worst restaurants, I always struggle to find any place to eat when I'm here. I figured I would give this place a try since it looks like it's been around for a while, wish I hadn't. I ordered the flounder sandwich and paid extra for the mac and cheese as a side. The sandwich was just average, and the mac and cheese tasted like orange, toxic cheese flavored paste, it was completely unedible. I guess the search continues for a half decent place to eat when I'm passing through this horrible town.

Slightly further off the highway than the other fast food/quick service options, this place doesn't see a lot of I-85 traffic and instead caters to the locals. That shines through in both the menu and the prices. First of all, this place is affordable! It's a no-frills, order-at-the-counter, quick service food joint that looks to give neighborhood diners a reliable place to grab a meal. The menu offers a basic selection and the preparation is fairly workmanlike. You won't be blown away by the food, but it's perfectly respectable and an enjoyable break from the typical fast food options. They also offer fresh fried flounder and other things that you usually get at more of a sit-down restaurant. To that point, there IS a good, large indoor seating area too. So don't be scared off by the location or the fact that it looks a little older, this place is worth giving a try.

Your average restaurant catering toward locals. The food is good and the staff is friendly but the wait times lately have been extremely long. I would suggest the fish sandwich and the porkchop dinner. The chicken is good too but sometimes has a burnt taste. They have daily specials as well. Desserts can be a hit or miss. This is definitely a place you have to try atleast once.

The fried mains i usually get (chicken and livers) are very good. The sides I got last time were so so, but I would definitely go again.

Did not like that they bread and deep fry the fish with the skin still on it. The Mac and cheese was good.

We reviewed the orders two times and it still came out wrong. Besides the wrong order, the wait time was too extensive.

My group decided to start with appetizers and we got a lot. The seafood tower which consisted of an assortment of baked oysters, shrimp cocktail, shrimp ceviche, sliced seared tuna and smoked fish dip were all excellent. We were all a little skeptical of the smoked fish dip but we all loved it! We got an extra order of baked oysters and the coastal hush puppies which were also excellent. We had so many appetizers that only two of us got entrees. The tuna steak and blackened redfish were top notch and nothing went home! As we had a birthday in the group they gave him a free tres leches cake slice that we shared. It was moist and delicious. They have a great bartender and two people got prickly pear margaritas while the rest of us got martinis. They were all perfect! Bottom line here, I'm probably shooting myself in the foot but this restaurant can match anything downtown Raleigh has to offer. This place should be packed! We can't wait to go back!

Our expectations were high. As we walked down the dock checking out the other boats tied off along the way we could hear laughter and good music. (Be mindful of any loose boards) We were greeted as soon as we walked up and seated at an 8 top right on the deck viewing the lake. The menu had a lot of appealing items to select from. A majority of them being fried seafood fair. The prices were reasonable for the selection as well. The six of us all ordered something different. I had the Firecracker Shrimp (huge!), my wire ordered the crab cakes (disappointing due to more filler than crab at $22 for two), son had the 8oz burger (he loved it), tenders for the little guy, my uncle ordered the alligator bites which they were out of so he picked the catfish nuggets, and my aunt got the chicken nachos. The portions were rather large. Down to stars. I'm on the fence between 3 or 4 for these reasons. We arrived around 2:30pm and probably waited just over an hour for our food. The little ones were restless and cranky. The food was decent with the exception of the crab cakes. Servers were overwhelmed somewhat due to customers sharing stories from what I could gather from nearby tables. People are chatty when the mixed beverages are flowing. However, I love the experience, vibe, and the view. So 4 it is for this trip. You should check them out. I would definitely like to come back. It was really fun and I can only expect that place to get crazier as the summer goes on. Side note: If you order water, there is a $0.95 charge. Also there is a membership discount, but I don't know what that entails.

It was cheaper for us (myself & the cubs) to get the family platter instead of individual meals. Let me tell you something!! It did NOT disappoint!! Our server was very nice and friendly and didn't mind answering a few questions and making sure our food was to our liking.
