I'm so disappointed. I have wanted a good Indian restaurant in Keizer for years. This place had no soul. Cold and empty. The high light was the lady at the cash register. She was welcoming and friendly. We ordered samosas and paneer pakora for a quick snack with Starbucks. B oth dishes were flavorless on the inside. The samosas had so much salt on the breading that I had to pick it away with my finger. The Pakora tasted like frozen doughy pizza rolls. Not hand-made at all or worth what we paid. Please take this review as honest and don't get mad. This is to let you know that you have a great sea of improvement and I really do hope you bloom into a restaurant we will all be proud to eat at. We ate here for the first time today. The service was great and the restaurant appeared very clean, somewhat devoid of ambience you'd expect in an Indian restaurant. They were playing pleasant Indian music. I got the Butter Chicken and asked for it to be mild and it had delicious flavor but too spicy for me. My husband got the Chicken Tikka Masala and he throughly enjoyed it! The Naan was the best I've ever had. We really enjoyed this place and are so happy Salem has a new Indian Restaurant. I came here with my family of five and three of us got minor food poisoning. The atmosphere too is off putting with a strange mint color paint that was chipping in places, and cobwebs all over. At one point, a man walked in with stained clothes and holes in his pants and a very unkempt beard. We thought maybe he was a homeless man, but he then proceeded to walk into the kitchen. He brought us our food later wearing the same thing with no gloves or hair net. Overall we had a terrible experience. Poor atmosphere, mediocre food, strange service, and very concerning sanitation. We will not be returning for fear of more food poisoning. read more

So great!! Needed good Indian food in a hurry for a hardworking friend with a craving, and the blind internet search did not fail us. Prices are average, portions are good enough to feel worth it, and the taste was on point! Real heat level (not as whitewashed as so many other places) while still retaining flavor, fast friendly service, and didn't skimp just because it was take out. Location is clean and welcoming, and leftovers were absolutely delightful next day. Will return to try the things we couldn't fit on the first round. read more

Worst Buffet ever. Watery and tasteless. I will go one more time and try ordering off the menu. I did see a few other guest order off menu and it looked way better than what we got off the buffet. Chai tea was bland and need more spices. Ratio was left out at room temperature and was very thin. The Roti was very good. read more

I just noticed this place for the first time a few days ago. I don't drive that way often & last I looked it was a rib place & I'm vegetarian. I ordered veggie samosas, salad & naan. The samosas are good size, they came with a chutney & a cucumber mint sauce, or it smells like that. I'm in love with the chutney so I didn't try it. The initial sweet of the chutney is delicious and the spice in the samosas take a second to kick in. They could have a little more kick but I imagine for the American palette it's perfect. The naan was super hot even after the trip back to work. The salad was large and unexpected considering the price. I scooped it up with the naan. So simple but loads of flavor. I arrived a few minutes before my order was ready so I had a seat & pulled out my phone. My wait wasn't even 5 minutes & the gentleman showed up with an ice cold glass of water & thanked me for my patience which was very kind. I will definitely be returning! read more

We have now eaten here twice since they opened last month and it is the best Indian food we have had in the Salem area. The food isn't overly rich and it is delicious The first time we ate here, the chicken was a little dry but the second time it was perfect. We would love to see more paneer options and malai kofta added to the menu. We will be eating here frequently! read more

This random lunch choice proved to be so worth it! It just opened up four months ago. The food was affordable, and so delicious! We had the medium Shrimp Curry. It was perfectly balanced, where the heat made itself know but let all the flavor shine through. We also had chicken stuffed naan, which we both enjoyed by itself and dipped into our curry. The staff was polite and prompt, and our food came out in a timely manner. The building and interior are clean and the interior is very open and bright. We are definitely coming back. Had a wonderful dinner tonight at Golden Sparrow. My wife and kids all loved the food and thought the prices were very reasonable, especially considering the large helpings. We had lots of leftovers. We will be back to support this family business. Very nice staff there too. We had a good time. read more

Just tried this restaurant this evening, excellent Indian food, best we've had in Salem! Lots of vegetarian options, very friendly service. Not much ambience (and no liquor if you're after that) but the food made up for it! When we complimented the flavors the server said she would go back in the kitchen & tell her mother who made the food. That was really touching. Beautiful cold water, wonderful spices, very buttery naan. We had aloo gobi, one of the dals, pappad, veg samosas and naan. No complaints about any of it, will be back. Just hope it doesn't go out of business because I've seen so many restaurants come and go in this spot. read more

Had such high hopes for this place based on the other reviews. Alas it was not to be. Loud Indian rap music in a sparsely decorated spot meant it was grating by the end of the meal. Veggie samosas were ok. Butter chicken was odd. Lamb curry was thin and rather flavorless. Tandoori chicken was under marinated and over cooked and so was over charred and dry. Garlic naan was tasty but also over cooked. The raita was thin and flavorless. Service was good and attentive but couldn't make up for the poor quality of the food and atmosphere. read more

Definitely feels like a business still finding it's rhythm but I would absolutely recommend if you like indian-their Naan is the best we've had and we have scoped out all the local Indian restaurants! read more
