I stopped by BIF in Brooks on the I-5 exit to try the chicken wrap/ burrito . It exceeded my…read moreexpectations for sure. Very generous in size , filled with lots of flavor and chunks of chicken . I also had the samosa which was equally good. I brought my husband with me a few weeks later because he liked the burrito so much. This time we ordered the same chicken burritos and samosa, but added paratha and also a paneer dish on rice both excellent . The guy taking the orders and cooking is very nice . There are picnic tables in a covered area if you choose to eat on site . We decided to take out , and there is enough food for probably 2 more meals . This is really tasty Indian food and so accessible basically behind the Carls Jr at the rest stop . For the portion size I think it's very reasonable and a welcome change from fast food .

Almost everything we tried was great. The paratha was humongous and packed with flavor, though I do wish they offered a few more individual filling options instead of just a mixed veg style. Both the chicken curry and the paneer bhurji were absolutely on point, and the gulab jamun was a perfect sweet finish. As for the misses, the chana in the chana masala was still a bit too firm to bite into and definitely needed more cooking time, and the chicken roll was just okay. That said, I'm totally willing to let those couple of things slide because the highlights were so good. I'd love to come back and work my way through more of their menu!

The service was incredibly friendly and attentive. Everyone greeted us with a smile, took the time to explain the menu, checked on us throughout the meal, and made us feel genuinely welcome. I ordered the tandoori chicken, and it was fantastic, freshly grilled, juicy, well-seasoned, and a generous portion. My boyfriend got the chicken tikka, and the creamy sauce was rich and delicious. We also ordered the cheese naan, which is great, it was warm, cheesy, and like an elevated quesadilla. Overall, everything was flavorful, the service was outstanding, and it's easy to see why this place is a Salem staple. We'll definitely be back!

I also tried a bite of the tikka masala and now I think I'm going to have to venture away from my beloved tacos and order that next time because it was delicious. The service is always great and everyone is genuinely super nice. The only miss was the wine, it was pretty bad and honestly not finishable. But the food? Absolutely worth coming back for. Those butter chicken tacos have definitely become one of my favorites!

I'm so disappointed. I have wanted a good Indian restaurant…read morein Keizer for years. This place had no soul. Cold and empty. The high light was the lady at the cash register. She was welcoming and friendly. We ordered samosas and paneer pakora for a quick snack with Starbucks. B oth dishes were flavorless on the inside. The samosas had so much salt on the breading that I had to pick it away with my finger. The Pakora tasted like frozen doughy pizza rolls. Not hand-made at all or worth what we paid. Please take this review as honest and don't get mad. This is to let you know that you have a great sea of improvement and I really do hope you bloom into a restaurant we will all be proud to eat at. The ambiance was bleak and cold with little to no thought of the rich warmth of India.

They were playing pleasant Indian music. I got the Butter Chicken and asked for it to be mild and it had delicious flavor but too spicy for me. We will definitely return. Oh they're closed from 2:00-4:00!

While La Carreta de Mi Tierra (#1) has been quietly blowing up the taco street scene in Salem, just…read moreacross the street lies Los Pinos, an older, more traditional taco truck where tastiness and authenticity go hand in hand. Some would say this is the best street taco experience in the city, which is hard to argue, especially when the tacos are this good. Their tacos are around $1.50-$2.00 each, which beat the competition in terms of pricing but I trust this price will catapult in a very short time. Their version of carnitas are stewed and fried to perfection and their lengua / al pastor is fantastic. When available, their fish tacos are worth every dime, though they are a $1 more. It's not all tacos, they also serve a decent variety of burritos, quesadillas, and tortas. They're very good about stuffing every morsel of food into the tortilla / bread, which is abundant in its own right. Do not forget to use as much of their condiments to really enhance the flavor. Thankfully, it's never too busy here and the staff is super friendly. The last time I checked they were still cash only and parking is extremely limited. They've done well to attract a lot of local clientele, many of whom visit the truck during the late hours into the evening. There is some seating with these makeshift tables, but I prefer to take my food to go. When it comes to Los Pinos and their wonderful variety of street inspired food, everyone wins. _________________ (#1) https://www.yelp.com/biz/la-carreta-de-mi-tierra-salem

The guy who took our order and put everything together was really nice and patiently listened to how we wanted the tacos and burritos - no beans, etc. First bite was close your eyes good. There is some kind of salsa poured over the tacos that made their deliciousness more delicious. Lots of cilantro and onion and almost like a gravy. Then there was the burrito. Oh man it was so good! We tore it apart in greed and burrito lust and panted in shame afterwards. But not so much shame that we didn't plot to return next week.
