Wendi was great! I had a second lobe piercing that was uneven and had grown back. It was done around 35 years ago at one of those 'chain' stores that used a piercing gun. That was the last time I had any piercing, so a lot has changed since then. This time I also wanted a helix piercing, but even though I had searched online (beware of bad info on random sites) and checked the diagram on the GSS site, I was confused about the different types/locations of piercings. I explained that I was a novice and Wendi was understanding. She pierced the second lobe hole again--evenly placed--as well as the helix. She doesn't use the piercing gun, which can be inaccurate. Wendi explained everything through the process, everything was clean, and she went through the aftercare process thoroughly. I plan to go back and have another piercing done by Wendi. read more

I came in for a walk-in piercing by Wendi. It was around 4pm on a Saturday and I only waited around 20 minutes. Wendi was really personable and made sure I loved the placement of the piercing. It was my third lobe piercing and she made sure the spacing was even with my existing piercings. I would just like to say, I know nothing about the tattoo artist there, but this post is about their peircer. While her process and peircings themselves are good, her jewlery is questionable and never answered my questions about what the metal was, her jewlery styles are outdated, and her aftercare is very awfully outdated. Her aftercare instructions are to use Dial antibacterial soap, which has been out of date and unprofessional for years. Her recommendation of Dial soap is very outdated and potentially harmful. Be very careful if you get a peircing here for your peircings healing and overall health. read more

I came in with my friend who was planning on getting her tongue pierced. The piercer, Wendi, asked if we were both getting something done. I was planning on getting a piercing Saturday anyways and I'm at a piercing place right now so why not? I asked about getting another nostril piercing and was showing her. Wendi was really rude and was like "Stop touching your nose. No, you can't get it done. There's no room." I completely get that not every piercing is possible but her tone was off. The way she talked to my friend right next to me was completely different. A lot nicer. My friend went back to get her tongue pierced and came out five minutes later. She wasn't able to because of a vein in her tongue (again, understandable. Not everyone piercing works for everyone's anatomy and at least Wendi didn't ignore that.) However, my friend said that 1. Wendi ignored that she felt nervous. A tongue piercing can be scary and my friend said Wendi didn't make her feel comfortable at all. Wendi said she shouldn't be nervous, that she wouldn't count down, she just should get over it, stuff like that. 2. Wendi's attitude changed once she realized it couldn't be done. She walked right past us and didn't say goodbye or anything. It's not a requirement but still, why not something like "sorry it couldn't be done. Maybe next time we can do something else! Have a good one." The bare minimum. I've heard good reviews from my other friends but they were white and my friend and I happen to be people of color. I don't know if she was rude because of a race thing or because she realized she couldn't make money from us. But I'm glad I didn't give her my money and next time, I'll go see the piercer at another place who wasn't rude. read more

First off, I would like to preface this review by noting that the one bad review of this place was given by a reviewer who has bothered to write only 4 reviews in a total of one year. That speaks for itself. Second, this place was excellent. This is coming from the standpoint of Mom, who took her daughter to get her belly button pierced with a fellow mom and daughter. I called ahead and checked pricing, and was given the proper information on piercing under the age of 18. Conveniently located downtown and easy to find, nicely set up, and not like most tattoo businesses, which I always find a bit skeezy. Not because they are a tattoo business but because of their employees. Tattoos or not, you can tell a lot by the professionalism, and Rob Bishop had it. He answered the million questions the girls asked and thoroughly went over the process very patiently. Everything was clean, pricing was affordable, and his personality was great! I also really respected the fact he would not say anything negative about competing tattoo businesses in Greensboro. Love this studio! I had such a great experience here. From my initial contact on their website to working with my artist designing the perfect piece for me. This wasn't my first tattoo but was the first big piece, and an actual investment and first original art. I couldn't tell you that artist ( or apprentice?) who did my other tattoos so I guess that goes to show you what being 18 and having $100 will buy you. Almost 20 years later, and looking back at the realllly bad tattoos I got when I was younger, made me want to have something I was really proud of. A lot friends recommended Golden Spiral because of cleanliness and the incredible artists who work there. I wanted to work with Zach Crisp after seeing his portfolio online and was not disappointed. Where to start... We talked to an artist back in Jan about getting a tattoo (all the details, size, number of people getting it, etc.) got a price and $20 deposit/ per person. When we went to book, the price per piece changed and the deposit went up to $50/per person (also said it would be 3+ hrs for a small 2" x 2" tattoo, I've had a few tattoos and for this size is absolutely ridiculous). When we went back to cancel, we were denied the return of our deposit (yes, it was printed on card, but artist never stated that deposit was not refundable.) Did not like that they changed the deposit amount & price of the tattoo changed and had no reasoning behind the change. Very rude to us and our family. No customer service and no we will not recommend this to anyone else in the area. read more

I got my nipples pierced here several months ago by Wendi. The right nipple piercing turned out fine, but the jewelry was too short (3/8) and didn't allow room for swelling, which became painful. The left, she didn't even pierce the nipple, she pierced the areola, and it rejected in about two weeks. She also came off as rude throughout the session. Based on her attitude and the fact she made two mistakes in one session, I didn't want her opinion on anything, and went somewhere else for a second opinion. The other piercer said the jewelry was definitely too short, and the left piercing was rejecting and I needed to remove it IMMEDIATELY. I will definitely be going someplace else to get it repierced. I've had other friends say the same things, that she has a bad attitude and their piercings from her have rejected. read more

I received a genital piercing here by a piercer by the name of Wendy who was highly recommended to me by a close friend. I had a good experience before, during, and after the piercing the day of (although the pain was almost unbearable to the point of me almost blacking out). She helped calm me down and gave me water. But a few days later the top ball of my piercing came undone so I went back for her help and expertise. At first she told me the jewelry bar was not in. Then she found the bar hiding. She said she would have to stretch the hole to get it back in. My body was visibly tense. She asked if I was ready. I responded not really. Then she says okay I'll not doing this and proceeds to pack up her tools, instead of reassuring me. I told her I wanted it done I just needed time to relax. By that point the top hole was closed to the point she would have to re-pierce it. I opted out of that. I will not be getting re-pierced here. read more

So I just wanted to post online about the piercer here Wendi. I'm not the type to write reviews so when I do, know that I was truly bothered. Wendi does not have a personality for working with the public. She comes off as very rude to me since she is short and if you ask her for her professional opinion about how she thinks a certain piercing would look on you, she's not gonna give it. I've been places that if you need to make a decision the artist will recommend things. For example, if you want to get your ears pierced and you are stuck between two options most artist I've come across will lean you in one direction based on the anatomy of your ear, do not expect that with Wendi. Of course it's up to you to chose your piercing in the end but it feels nice to have someone even pretend like they care. I don't recommend going here for piercings unless you enjoy spending your hard earned money and time with someone who makes you feel like helping her to be able to provide for her self & family is an annoyance. I have gotten multiple tattoos here and that's aspect is great, 5:5 stars! For me personally, I will not be supporting this business anymore or allowing anyone I associate with to support because if your business isn't appreciated why spend money there? I work SUPER hard as a nurse during this covid year & I won't spend a dime here anymore. Right now in this weird time, it is important to be humble & kind especially if you want your business to thrive. Ron Bishop, who typically works at the front, is exceptionally professional and I have only had positive interactions with him.
