5-stars for this wonderful office. Dr. Gandhi and the staff (Marco, Winnie, Jocelyn, Jennifer, Kimberly) are ALL professional, thorough, kind, punctual and friendly. I started coming to the office many years ago as a teenager when the practice was owned by Dr. Shannon, and I needed specialty care for my eyes, which had been misfitted for contacts by another practitioner. I loved the office & Dr. S, and stayed with them all these years, and when the practice switched to Dr. Gandhi, it felt seamless and easy, and I have the same level of confidence with Dr. Gandhi and my eye health. Dr. Gandhi explains things in a clear way about my eyes' changing needs, and carefully monitors our family's eyes (he's now the family optometrist, also treating my husband and two young boys). Eye health is so important, and the eyes can also be indicators of other health conditions, too, so I know how important it is to pick a great doctor with an amazing team that you want to visit year after year. Our entire family has been happily visiting Golden State Optometry for many years. They provide excellent service and care in checking our eye health and setting us up with eyewear and contacts. Recently, however, Dr. Gandhi introduced a new technology to us that has been quite effective for my teen son. It's called CRT, and it's basically a contact lens that he wears when he sleeps that reshapes his cornea so that when he wakes and takes it out, his vision is clear without the need for any lenses or eye glasses. It worked well from the first day, although did not last his full waking day at first - about 12-14 hrs - until the end of his first week wearing them. It's truly remarkable. Definitely a little costly, but the freedom and clarity of his new eye sight has been well worth it. I recommend it highly! Thank you so much Dr. Gandhi! read more

As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, I was immediately pleased by how quickly they took me back. I understand how the medical system can get backed up and this was clearly not the case here. Dr. Gandhi was extremely personable, thorough, communicative, and efficient with his evaluation. This allowed him to take the time after his evaluation to explain things to mean in detail and calm my concerns about my migraines. He knew I was a medical professional and did not hesitate to discuss things at a further depth, which I appreciated. I've been seeing Dr. Gandhi since I moved to LA five years ago. He and his staff are extremely committed to supporting their patients in all aspects of eye care and health. He's always professional, knowledgable, friendly, and takes the time to talk me through his different recommendations and options. His staff is equally fantastic, making me feel comfortable from start to finish. He is also the first doctor I've ever seen who figured out that my insurance should be covering my care differently and has handled all of the annual approval processes for this. I've been going to this eye doctor office for years with Dr. Shannon and Dr. Rimers before him, then Dr. Gandhi came in and I was immediately comfortable with him and his warm personality and professional expertise. When Dr. Shannon retired, I knew Dr. Gandhi would be a trusted eye doctor for me and my family and friends without any concern. The location remains the same (nice and local and a clean personal Santa Monica building) and the staff remains as loyal professionals, and super friendly with great knowledge. Great optometrist. Very helpful. More specifically I have been undergoing the dry eye treatment there and I have to say it has improved my eyes a great deal. It's definitely something to look into if you struggle with having dry itchy eyes. The results are profound. It gets your eyes and sinuses feeling good. I highly recommend it. I'm just had my first visit yesterday and I was very impressed by the staff. I had an annual check up and they are using new impressive technology to test the health of my eyes and vision and I felt that I was in good hands. Moreover, the whole staff is friendly and made me feel comfortable. And because they accept my insurance (Blue Shield of CA), it was all quite affordable too! read more

I found the exam to be very thorough and everything along the way was explained. We discussed some issues I had wearing progressive lenses and came up with a good solution. While selecting new glasses they were helpful, had a good selection of quality glasses and didn't rush me to make my decision.
