I had an absolutely outstanding experience with Golden State Solar and I would recommend them to friends and family without hesitation! When I first inquired, Tim (the owner) reached out and scheduled a consultation/evaluation of my existing system for the following day. He arrived on time, was professional and very knowledgeable. He sent me over a couple different proposals that he believed would be best for me and my usage. I reached out to competing companies to test the market and one company found out that I was on a different NEM standard than we previously thought. This discovery made me second guess getting solar for the time being. My home initially had only the bare minimum solar setup required for new builds, and Tim was able to seamlessly integrate the new panels with the existing ones, adding a battery in the process. We had Golden State Solar do our installation of 21 roof top solar panels. The work was done very professionally. We are satisfied with the result. The owner Tim and his son Nick were our main contacts. They both seem very knowledgable. A few "supply chain" issues arose which meant we had to go with Hanwha panels instead of the Sun Power units we originally ordered. The project took longer than I had originally thought it would. From August contract signing and deposit to December when we signed the PG&E contract. Some of this was due to the interesting times we are living in. We initially met Tim to help repair loose wood and dry rot on our outdoor stairs. It just so happened we also needed a handyman to come build a wall in our renovated apartment. A Yelp 5 star rating means "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" Tim diagnosed and then repaired my faulty solar system. I previously hired a different contractor to install a solar system with a backup battery. After at least nine return trips to get things working correctly, the original contractor threw his arms in the air and declared that I was on my own and since he was unable to get the system working, there would be no warranty! (I will bash Green Wolf Energy under their banner). When I contacted SolarEdge I was referred to Tim at Golden State Solar. Tim set up our meeting, confirmed the night before, let me know he was on his way in the morning, and showed up on time. Tim had the right tools for the work; he was neat and tidy; he let me know Exactly what was needed and what all of it would cost. I found Tim at TD Construction several years ago and have used him on so many projects. Is there nothing this guy can't do? He is an awesome woodworker and an excellent electrician. I recently had him help me with a couple of home projects. I have been debating upgrading the old tank water heater for quite a while with a new tankless one.
