Moreno Roofing is an excellent company! They performed maintenance on my Duro-Last roof, which they installed 20 years ago, and it looks fantastic. They also installed a jack for the electrical pole, my electrician secured with a bunch of caulk, and cleaned my gutters. During the gutter cleaning they found my storm drains were clogged and advised me to call a plumber. Now I'm all set for the winter storms. I'm extremely happy with the experience and look forward to working with them again. read more

Excellent service. Paul Moreno came out in person to discuss the job and every aspect, including removing and re installing the solar panels. A competitor (who originally installed) the panels told me that I would have to hire a separate contractor to remove and reinstall the panels. Paul also had George and the job foreman come out to my house and again discussed the job in detail the day before they started the work. The competitor had a "project manager" who never laid eyes on my project. Moreno roofing's bid was quite reasonable, about half of what the "competitor" bid. Paul came out and provided an estimate for a small gutter replacement. He provided an estimate, which seemed a bit high so I asked for more details on specs. He said he would be happy to but I never received anything despite asking a couple of times. Paul was initially pleasant but ultimate failed on his customer service to follow thorough. I know this was a small job but that is no excuse for dropping the ball. I was going to have him look at my roof replacement in a couple of years but I am hesitant now. Moreno roofing has very good reviews so perhaps COVID has thrown Paul off his pace? UPDATE: After I wrote the Yelp review Paul reached out to apologize which I really appreciated. I've had a leak since this past December that stumped two other roofers who came out many, many times. Paul said he likes a challenge and was able to find the cause of the leak and repair it. Highly recommend these guys. At a minimum, include them for one of your quotes. We needed a new roof. I started with three estimates - Scudder, Williams & Premo. They were so wildly different and problematic, I decided I needed to get three more quotes - Warren Knox, Wolfy, and Moreno. Moreno won, with Warren Knox a close second. Hands down, Moreno and Knox were the winners. They were not the cheapest, but they offered the most bang for the buck. They both instilled the most confidence in their ability to do the job. Paul Moreno is low-key and easy-going. He is responsive and easy to work with. A genuinely nice guy. He responds to texts, emails, and phone calls. Moreno - unlike the others - offers to survey inside your house and cover any areas that may have debris falling from the work. In our case, we have a cathedral ceiling. Let me assure you, that tarp caught a lot of stuff. Thank you Moreno crew for saving me from having to clean up that mess. The installation crew was led by Juan Escamilla. He was super. Very polite, and professional. The entire crew was respectful, quiet, and competent. They worked well together. They cleaned up after each day. When it comes to spending money on my house, I can be fussy. The few issues I had were resolved to my satisfaction. Moreno's office manager, Lucia, told me to hold off paying the final payment until I was completely satisfied. In the end, I was completely satisfied. Our experience was as good as could be expected. We bought our house in early 2017, knowing we'd need a new roof. After interviewing and getting quotes from several roofers, Paul was the only one who gave us a very reasonable quote for solar, roof, and attic fan. I should mention that Paul, himself, came out to inspect our roof and give us an estimate. Once we decided to use Paul and his company, everything else was easy... His team walked us through the CaliforniaFirst financing option, and we went with that for our roofing and solar. All communication was very quick and helpful, Paul would often return our emails in the middle of the night (dedication!!!). The actual roof went on and it was flawless! The team was out here for 2.5 days, and were polite, helpful, and very hard workers. At various points, I thought for sure they'd take a break because of the heat...but they worked tirelessly through the day. Each morning they arrived on time, and left when they said they would...allowing me to schedule kid's activities around them easily. The solar install process was a bit longer, due to permitting​ and PG&E...but Paul's team walked us through everything. When there was a problem with our electrical system, Paul found someone to help fix it (at no cost to us). Now, comes the amazing part of this review. Because​ my husband and I are both shocked and amazed at how this all happened. Paul's team purchased and installed an attic fan for us (to help cool our old house). When it became obvious that our attic fan was causing our elderly neighbors some distress with its​ noise, we contacted Paul. He sent someone out to inspect the fan, and nothing was wrong with it. I reached out to Moreno Roofing along with 4 other roofing companies in the middle of the Memorial long weekend because we noticed a small water stain where the wall meets the ceiling in our master bedroom. Given it's a holiday weekend, I didnt expect to have any feedback from requested quote until Tuesday and yet Paul reply the same day and let us know that they'd do their best to fit us into their schedule and they'll be in touch on Tuesday. And this really sets the tone of our interactions: Paul was very articulate, completely easy to communicate with and also have a very approachable friendly way about him that makes a pleasure to discuss concerns back and forth with him. When Paul came over for an estimate, he called and texted to make sure an earlier arrival time would be okay with us. He also took many pictures which he included in his assessment and quote evaluation. My parents who received Paul for the estimate that day felt really comfortable with how thorough Paul was (he even climbed into our dusty attic in a super hot day). The result of the evaluation is that we have 4 possible sources causing water leaks. What set Paul apart was the day after, he followed up with another email and said he has given it more though and perhaps we should hold off repairing all 4 possible sources and wait until we could catch the problem in action so save money and efforts as well. How amazing and unusual is that to have the owner come to your house for an estimate. Especially a company that has been in business for 48 years. Paul said his dad started the company 48 years ago. We had a great experience with Moreno's, start to finish. We had sections of flat roof that warped (or the house moved) over time so they stopped draining properly. Got like a paddling pool on one of them! There were a couple of leaks and it was only going to get worse. We got 4 quotes and Paul Moreno was the only one who explained back to me what they would do to remedy, so I had confidence we'd get a roof that did drain, didn't leak. The quote was equally clear. They installed Duralast, which we went with even though it's an expensive system - because the cost and inconvenience of repairs and repainting after a leak makes it just not worth cheaping out on. We hate flat roofs and not knowing when they'll fail, so this seemed the best way to live with them! The cost of repair to damage under the old roof was very reasonable. Scheduling was easy, Moreno's is responsive over email, text and phone. They showed up exactly when they said they would, kept me in the loop about what was happening at all stages and did fast, clean, tidy work. Roofing got done in a couple days, on schedule, with very little fuss. During the installation, the guys informed me that it was probably best that my satellite internet dish was not installed directly in the roof. So they suggested I schedule a reinstall with my satellite internet provider (which I did). I appreciated the consult on this, but in the temporary rig to hold the dish on tip of my AC unit, the grounding cable got severed. Probably would've been better to simply unscrew the cables. Only other thing worth mentioning was the surprise fire alarm form that I needed to fill out. We had to scramble to ensure that we had the requisite number of alarms to finish our roofing job. Would've been good to know about this requirement ahead of time. Overall, really great experience with Moreno. read more

I contacted Moreno Roofing (along with several other roofing companies) for a pretty major roof project for my fixer upper in Aptos back in May. From day one Paul Moreno the owner, was incredibly responsive professional and resourceful. He invested a lot of time communicating and really mapping out this project. It was 3 separate roofs that had to not only get replaced but we redesigned too. Adding extended eaves to all 3 sides, insulating the flat center roof and creating a pitch/cirkcett for new drainage. This was not simple by any means and it was clear from our interviewing process that not all roofers were capable of this design work and execution. His Foreman Juan was fantastic as well, very courteous, very professional and very experienced and same with their office manager Lucia. Everyone was on the same page throughout this process. There were a ton of delays as well (None of which were related to the roofing) between engineering on an unrelated issue and County approvals for other portions of this project. Paul was patient and supportive checking in along the way making sure we had what we needed and offering additional support. I was truly a positive experience in what has been and still is a very overwhelming and stressful project!
