We let him know that we were there to make arrangements for my uncle who had passed a couple of days before. He asked if we had an appointment and we informed him that we were told by the receptionist who answered the phone that walk-ins were ok, he informed us that that was incorrect but he would try to locate someone who could meet with us. The gentleman then called to the back to verify if someone was available to help us. After waiting in an overly warm, gnat and mosquito laden waiting area for more than 30 minutes, we were escorted to the back office by Matt. Matt was condescending, rude and spoke to us as if we didn't understand what he was saying and couldn't afford the services he was offering. He kept looking at his watch as if we were wasting his time. At which point, I started gathering my things to leave because I will not stand for someone treating me as if we don't belong there. I stopped listening to him after a couple of minutes but gave my family member time to ask questions and to find out more. The absolute second we left out of the building we both looked at each other and decided we were never coming back because of overall feeling of not feeling welcome by any staff we encountered that day and Matt, is the absolute nail in the coffin for us deciding never returning there again!

They told me they were remodeling and the smell was from mold. It would be gone b4 the service for our beloved Gary. We had to go down there several getting paperwork right for victim assistance program. React time I went to visit the funeral home it as worse and worse. I mean I've worked at trauma hospitals and I've smelled death before and the smell was definitely that of decaying humans. There is like 4 different funeral Homes run out of this place. When we did a family visitation our loved one's body was in bad shape. When I felt around him I realized that there he had ice packed all around him and his body was decaying. Also I was unhappy about all the thinking I had to do as far as the package. Nothing was explained about prayer cards, guest book , and when I remembered not talking about these little but important things the owner or supervisor never explained any of this to us so when I remembered it was a scramble nearing the big day to pick out these items and the obituary and they got the flower order all wrong as well. What a bad experience at a very difficult time when we counted in the professionals to help us make sure all the little items that we needed were included I wasn't concerned so uuuuy

I contacted this place after my fiance passed away, after…read morespeaking with the receptionist who was very nice and pleasant and easy to talk to, I decided to go with Sterling & Smith. I regret it. I had quite a few appointments with them. The first one was just to get pricing in which my case manager hadn't even gaven me her name to refer back to her. The second appointment with zoey, no one told me I needed to bring in any documents. No one told me anything about what to bring . We sat down and talked about the prices and services. She spelled my fiance's name wrong in which I corrected her. I actually respelled it out for her 2x and I thought she had corrected it. She was very pleased and seemed sympathetic to my loss. This was the first time ever dealing with anything of this sort. The short viewing for close family members went fine. Except they never contacted me to tell me when his body got there, or to schedule the viewing- I called them each time. But when it came time to planning the memorial that's where everything went bad. Zoey had spelled my fiance's name wrong on the death certificate even after correcting her the first time and respelling it 2x the first time. Before our scheduled appointment to go over memorial details, I gave her his birth certificate and she was trying to downplay her error as something minor. Anyhow, she had no office to talk to me in, so we went into someone's office until they showed up, interrupting her presentation and throwing her off guard. So we can shuffled to the next room. In that room I'm looking at a prayer book as she escorts herself out of the room, she leaves the door open. As I'm having a hard time finding a prayer that I like, there's people about 3 ft away in the hallway just staring into the room that I'm in and it got so loud, I finally close the door. After not having a table to hold the flimsy book, I find the prayer that I like and that's when Zoe told me I went too far and I was only supposed to pick from the first 20 pages. There were like 60 pages to choose from. Theyre book of selections had things that they weren't even using anymore. She didn't even know why they were still in the book. Because of all the noise, I couldn't concentrate so I said I would schedule another appointment at at time when they weren' so busy. My appointment was at 10am. I called later around 4ish to cancel the memorial services and I wanted my money back after paying her in cash that morning. She said they had already taken the money to the bank and they would write me a check for it. Everytime, dealing with Zoey, I have had to reach out to them- because this place doesn't call you back. Now I find out, that my money is in Bakersfield with a "private accountant" and that my money will be mailed to me. No one- including the manager of sterling and smith will even give me this "private accountants" name to verify this is even true and now to fix the death certificate it will take even longer to fix it because Zoey has to go to my fiances doctor to correct the error. Why would she need to go to the doctor to fix something in which I gave her the birth certificate for. The manager of sterling and smith isnt even mentioned in the website. They also falsely advertise. In their website- they say they help with personalizations at memorial services. But when the issue came up, Zoey said they don't provide them. I just want to be done with this place. As it is, I took them 3 necklaces to be filled, 1 necklace could not be filed due to 3 people trying to open it and couldn't, or they couldn't close the necklace the correct way without stripping the screw. These necklaces were ordered on Amazon and we're custom made, so now I have to take it back. I just want to be done with this place. Everyone here was nice and pleasant, but I think if they had more funeral directors, and a bigger office, maybe Zoey could have done a better job. She maybe overloaded with work- but this is a job a person can't mess up with. This has been my worst experience ever

Everyone from the ladies at the front desk to the ushers at the rosary were friendly and professional. I would highly recommend Salser & Dillard to anyone in need of a funeral home. May 2025 A Compassionate, Respectful, and Seamless Experience During a Difficult Time…read more-Planning my father's funeral was one of the most emotionally difficult moments of my life, but Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel provided compassionate, respectful, and professional support from start to finish. I worked closely with Christina, who guided me through the funeral planning process with grace and empathy. She listened patiently to all my questions, comments, and concerns, and made sure I understood each detail before making any decisions. I appreciated how she respected my privacy and never made me feel rushed or pressured. Every change I requested was communicated clearly, and I felt truly supported throughout the entire process. I was especially grateful for the private time I was given with my father in the days leading up to the service something I will never forget. On the day of the funeral, everything went exactly as planned. Frank was incredibly kind and personable, helping ensure the service flowed smoothly and on schedule. His presence and professionalism brought a sense of calm to what was otherwise a very emotional day. Following the service, we moved directly across the parking lot to the reception venue, where I worked with Jessica as our event coordinator. Jessica was outstanding she helped plan every detail of our potluck reception, offered thoughtful suggestions, and made sure the space was beautifully arranged. Her professionalism and warmth were evident from our planning meeting through the day of the event. I was very pleased with the overall package we selected and the quality of service provided by both the funeral chapel and the event venue. During a time of deep sorrow, Salser & Dillard gave me peace of mind and allowed my family to focus on honoring and remembering my father. I am truly thankful for the care and support I received from the entire team.

Unfortunately, our experience at this funeral home was beyond disappointing. There were flies all over my grandmother during the service, which was extremely disturbing and heartbreaking for our family to witness. The building itself was hot and uncomfortable the entire time. The staff was not welcoming, compassionate, or attentive in any way, which is the bare minimum when working with grieving families. The restrooms were dirty, there were crumbs already on the floor when we arrived, and the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the building was unacceptable. The carpet is literally lifting in areas, making the place look run down and poorly maintained. They also only had one small TV for the service when multiple screens or at least one larger screen would make much more sense for families and guests trying to participate in memorials. This place does not reflect the care, respect, or professionalism that loved ones deserve. Families are paying a lot of money during emotional times and should receive a clean, respectful, and comforting environment. I would not recommend this funeral home to anyone. Please save yourself the disappointment and choose a place that will truly honor your loved one properly.

I was debating on posting this & even emailed the funeral home & gave…read morethem enough time to remedy this situation but it seems like the Winkley family does not care about performance, service or professionalism. All Faiths Funeral Home was extremely unprofessional on the day of my mom's services. The owner tried to give us crucifixes as an attempt to make up for the following situations, but it doesn't suffice. From the moment I walked in, I noticed that the funeral pamphlets were not on the table, despite prior discussions. When I mentioned this to Tonia, she replied that she had to pick up a "dead baby." This was not only unprofessional but made it seem as though my mother was not a priority. After the pamphlets were printed, they contained errors - the date of her passing was incorrect. I had to make several calls to the office, and after 45 minutes, they were reprinted. However, they were still wrong. We had requested the pallbearers to be listed instead of the internment information, and this was not done. Additionally, I struggled to find anyone to help with the TV and slideshow. Fortunately, I have some IT knowledge and was able to manage it myself, but once again, this was a service failure on their part. The casket emblems, which were supposed to be on the casket, were missing until I brought it to Tonia's attention. Even then, one of the emblems was incorrect. Moreover, the announcement upon my mother's entrance to the Funeral Home had her birthdate listed incorrectly. The final issue, which was perhaps the most concerning, was the leaking of embalming fluid. We were never notified about this issue, and if it was a problem that morning, as Tonia mentioned, we could have opted for a closed casket. Instead, we proceeded with an open casket, and several family members inquired about the embalming fluid. The lack of communication regarding this issue was extremely disappointing. I felt like I had to manage the entire funeral service myself, which was incredibly overwhelming during such an emotional time. I was unable to properly grieve because I had to constantly coordinate and address these issues. All Faiths Funeral Home had more than enough time to prepare, as my mother had passed three weeks before the services. The lack of professionalism demonstrated on one of the most vulnerable days of our lives is deeply upsetting. When we chose All Faiths Funeral Home, we were reassured by Tonia's sincerity and felt confident that we would receive the support and services necessary. We trusted her & All Faith's Funeral Home with our mother's care, and unfortunately, we were let down. Previously, the funeral home had a poor reputation due to legal issues, but with the new ownership and name, we were hopeful for a fresh start. Sadly, the unprofessionalism shown by Tonia and her staff on that day has shattered that confidence. It's difficult to imagine recommending this funeral home to anyone, given how my family and I were treated. It's disheartening to feel as though my mother was just another name or number on their books. If you truly care about your loved ones do not bring them here. Seems like Smith Manor only had its name changed to "All Faiths Funeral Home"...
