My uncle passed recently and my mother and I met primarily with Christine who was great from the beginning. She was patient and comforting with my mother and assisted me with navigating through the process of laying my uncle to rest. My mom passed on Mother's Day, I had informed 3 staff of hospice that we needed affordable services, I was told they would help, in the wee hours my mother passed and staff called and stated they would call their regular mortuary. At 1:30am how was I to know they had not honored my request. The following business day speaking with staff at the mortuary they made no effort to assist my needs. Charging exorbitant for a plastic box instead of shipping directly, charging twice plus the rate for a simple cremation. read more

My mom passed away suddenly at KDHC and we were forced to pick a funeral home without time to research. S&D looks respectable so picked it. When we met with Christian, I was told her personal effects were a hospital gown and hospital blanket. No mention of her wedding ring. I asked for that and they said it was not listed!!!! Thankfully, they produced it while I was there. My poor father said he wouldn't have even thought to ask for it! (They were married 61 years.) Then I asked what else we should know since this is the first time for me to deal with this. Nothing. 2 hours after I got home, someone asked for an obituary. This was not mentioned by S&D. I called S&D and asked what I needed, a template, how to publish a obit, etc. They said they would send an email. I did not receive it to my knowledge. Once I submitted it, I had to call them back so it was actually published. I asked if they had recommendations for places to donate used medical equipment. No, they didn't have any thoughts on that. In my business, I have names for ancillary businesses as a courtesy to my clients. I assume we got poor service because we didn't pay them enough money! Oh, and they took credit for my mom's service in the obit--they didn't do one iota!!! It was at the church and 6 weeks after she passed. We were long moved on from S&D. My uncle passed away unexpectedly at Kaweah Delta Hospital. They automatically transported him to Salser & Dillard Funeral Home. My family had made and finalized arrangements with them, but two days before the funeral, they informed us that they double booked!!! Our family had already printed and sent funeral announcements, but they were unsympathetic and simply said the other funeral was bigger so we needed to make changes to our reservation. They did not take responsibility for double booking (in fact, they put the blame on us for not having finalized arrangements, which was a lie) nor did they offer any type of compensation. That's when I called Miller Memorial Chapel. They were kind and welcoming and completely took care of the mess that was left behind by this funeral home. They were able to accommodate us for the date/time we had originally scheduled. They got all the details from this funeral home and put it all together PERFECTLY in less than 2 days! They even gave us a better quote! I would NOT recommend Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel. If you do choose to use them, make sure you get everything in writing because verbal confirmations do not count as "finalized" arrangements. read more

Wow! How very impressed I am with Salser & Dillard. The staff were there from the beginning to the very end of the funeral process. My mother passed away from COVID on the late Friday evening, just before Thanks Giving. Kaweah Delta had called just after her passing to ask when they could expect someone to pick up her body, as there was no room in their onsite facility due to the increased deaths related to COVID. Salser & Dillard had already closed but I called anyway. As I was leaving a message, Mr. Dillard answered. He was so kind, compassionate and caring. He immediately arranged for my mother to be transported to their Visalia facility. From there, we worked with George, who went over all the paperwork and to do's. The prearranged plan my mother had with Salser & Dillard allowed for a stress free and non-burdened process. They literally took care of everything: the slideshow, decorating, obit, flyer, flowers, setup, on-hand staff during funeral for greeting guests/seating, takedown. They even delivered all the flowers and photos to our home after the service. It was a very pleasant experience during such a tragic time for us. I would highly recommend Salser & Dillard to take care of your family's prearranged funeral needs. I have since gotten a prearranged plan for myself and my in-laws. read more

My husband passed away this March,Haley and Staff who assisted me, was very caring, helpful professional and extremely knowledgeable. She helped and guided the family with the grace of God. If I could I would give them negative stars. They told my mother-in-law that her husband was going to be cremated on Wednesday August 28, 2019. But when the chapel called her house today to see when she was gonna come get the ashes. She was told that he was cremated this morning and they left a message. There was no message on any phones. And when she went to go get them this afternoon. She was informed that he was cremated on Friday. And they left a message. No messages were located. If I were you I would get another funeral home. This is a beautiful place to say farewell to a loved one. I am from out of state and quickly flew in for my Mom's passing which was unexpected. I immediately started looking for a place for my mom. Family recommended other places so I went to visit each location. As soon as I entered Salser and Dillard, I was sooo impressed. Their staff was also very friendly. Although there were times that I was stressed and frustrated with how things were going, their professionalism and understanding helped me to remain calm and focused. We needed Funeral Services and they were recommended by a family friend. They were the nicest, empathetic group of people one would want to handle your family affairs. The accommodations were ideal for our services, had the air conditioning on during the services. After the service was over, they personally delivered the flower arrangements that were left over. Unfortunately, we had a unpleasant experience here. There is a woman in her 20s or 30s who works here who was very disruptive and rude to guests during the service by talking loudly to her coworkers. The main room was full so quite a few of us had to sit in the hallway on the couches and chairs. The young woman began lecturing her coworkers, after a nice slideshow of our departed friend, on how to properly use the remote control for the video screens. This conservation should have waited until after the service and probably not five feet from the guests trying to listen to the remainder of the service. Later, she complained loudly, and went on and on, about how the main room was so crowded that it would be hard to get to the flowers and move them and was asking who had planned that. During the moment of silence she loudly talked and talked to a coworker about how tired she was. Other than this worker it was a nice clean place. read more

He paced back and forth breathing hard to let us know we had to hurry,we couldn't really pay our respects he just gave us 1 second each to see the person. It's iron clad and after I paid THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS into the Great Western Insurance Company in Ogden, Utah the company that writes the insurance policy for Salser & Dillard, I was unable to continue paying for financial reasons. TUFF! You lose it all. NO EXCEPTIONS! It's irrevokable and payable ONLY to Salsier & Dillard and you lose everything! Avoid them like the plague and avoid any policies they offer. My aunt had made her arrangements in advance with Salser & Dillard and since most of us were from out of the area, it was such a relief to have everything taken care of for us. From the moment we walked in, they comforted us and told us everything was already handled according to my aunt's wishes.
