Service requested was wash and blow dry / rollers and trim but since I have a 4 year old she was not going to sit under a dryer, her appointment was for 11:15am we arrived 10 minutes prior, the appointment was booked with the owner Caroline and she greeted us and of course as any salon she was running behind no problem did not think it would of been the amount of time until my daughters appointment kept getting pushed back after she requested for her to have her hair washed and asked if I wanted her to get rollers put in and I kindly told her no so end result we waited 2 hrs 1/2 and in that time her hair had dryer on its own mind you her appointment was at 11:15am to be sat in her chair at 1:00pm a four year old having to wait all that time, ridiculous just to be charged $80 for wash dry and trim and no extras were added to this service no one especially not a child should have waited all that time. I would not recommend setting an appointment with this establishment if the time is not honored 2 1/2 hrs is blasphemy, overall service terrible customer care.

People infer a lot based upon appearance and Merna's cuts were not reading as professional. My last cut by her had way too much going on - angled towards the front and also angled to one side, bad layers, odd bangs, etc. After laying out $150 with tip for a cut, I expect something that looks as expensive as the cuts were. Leave the Haircuttery-worthy experiments for the mannequin heads - not your clients' heads! Merna's daughter is lovely but some of the other assistants in the shop were rather rude. There was a young lady handling shampoos who was either Latina or Middle Eastern who wasn't always pleasant to deal with. I get that up and coming stylists often have it rough but being rough makes things worse (i.e., unemployment). Ladies, there are plenty of other hairstylists in NYC who will do a much better job on your hair for less money! Avoid this salon.

She obliged and I waited for my lady to get her nails done. I'll clarify that I didn't mind waiting. My problem lies with how rushed, underwhelming and unprofessional the wash was. There are plenty of afro/Hispanic women with kinky hair, especially in this neighborhood. There's no reason why my hair was should be done with cold/lukewarm/cool water (what dirt is being washed away with that? I had to tell her the water was cold in my very limited Spanish vocabulary and I was still cool/lukewarm. Plumbing issues? Then she only cleansed it twice, I didn't receive a deep condition. She didn't even properly detangle my hair. She burned me a few times with the blow dryer and visibly flinched and she just kept it pushing. It really felt like she was in a rush to get back to getting her nails done, which again I communicated the I did not mind waiting until her nails was dry. The products here seemed very ineffective. Thank goodness it was within my budget and it was convenient but the cost was quality service, professionalism and (God Forbid) the health of my hair. The nail tech tho, her hair looked pretty! Maybe there's a certain texture that the stylist could work with, or maybe it was just me.....

The only thing is that you have to let them know what you want. I don't like my hair too straight and forgot to tell her so I ended up with a super straight blowout. It was still nice, but if it's not what you want just let them know before they start the blowout. They charge an additional $1 if you pay with debit or credit card.
