I was recommended this place from a family member, I booked only due to the excellent experience my family member had. Service requested was wash and blow dry / rollers and trim but since I have a 4 year old she was not going to sit under a dryer, her appointment was for 11:15am we arrived 10 minutes prior, the appointment was booked with the owner Caroline and she greeted us and of course as any salon she was running behind no problem did not think it would of been the amount of time until my daughters appointment kept getting pushed back after she requested for her to have her hair washed and asked if I wanted her to get rollers put in and I kindly told her no so end result we waited 2 hrs 1/2 and in that time her hair had dryer on its own mind you her appointment was at 11:15am to be sat in her chair at 1:00pm a four year old having to wait all that time, ridiculous just to be charged $80 for wash dry and trim and no extras were added to this service no one especially not a child should have waited all that time. I would not recommend setting an appointment with this establishment if the time is not honored 2 1/2 hrs is blasphemy, overall service terrible customer care. read more

I tried giving this place a chance since it is Latin owned. However, I did not enjoy the service. The owner was not pleasant or professional. I scheduled an appointment 2 weeks prior and she didn't remember. Albeit she was not able to do the procedure I wanted, someone else styled my hair. On top of that, she only gave me the haircut and it was uneven. She didn't take her time to double check. I firmly believe she was discriminatory/ RACIST because I am not Dominican ( even though I am Latina.) This is not welcoming and it is disgusting behavior. I have never had a place where I have felt so comfortable and cared for from the salon's and staff's cleanliness. the treatment I have received from Caroline is very professional and she knows exactly what she is doing I have never colored my hair because I was scared of having hair damage but once researching and seeing the dedication and courses she has taken with other professional colorists told me that she was the one since day one. If I could leave negative stars I would. I went for a pixie cut. Let's just say she got scissor happy. I ended up look like a mushroom or someone's grandmother. I could've done a better job. My hair looked so HORRIBLE I had to shave my hair off at Jerry's Barber Shop 205 W 242nd St Bronx, NY 10471 and I actually love my hair now. The service and attention to detail is top notch! The salon is beautiful and chic , the team is inviting and go above and beyond to make sure that every single person who comes in is a satisfied client. I had decided to go blonde a few years back and I can't tell you how many compliments I received!!! They use the latest and best techniques. I am originally from Miami and typically fly back to Miami for my hair appointments, but was referred to Caroline, the owner, by a friend. I was happy with the outcome and she was $450 cheaper than what I usually pay at my salon in Coral Gables, FL. I was looking forward to finally transitioning to a local salon that was also within a very reasonable price range. However, Caroline has always displayed very poor customer service and has made quasi racist/discriminatory /rude comments. For example, she has distastefully and angrily told me "white people don't need to sit under the blow dryer!" Caroline also went onto say I must have went to a white salon in Miami... In actuality, if she knew better, she would have known that the demographic of Miami consists of Hispanics ( about 75% of the population) and my stylist is actually Colombian. That was strike one. I privately confronted Caroline and took it as a possible miscommunication/ translation from Spanish to English. However, today, I had an appointment for partial highlights and when I realize I was in a lot of traffic, I called her to say I would be running a few minutes behind schedule. Caroline said it was ok, so I proceeded to my appointment. When I arrived, I was was 12 minutes late. I sat and waited, but realized she had multiple clients ahead of me. When I finally asked (nearly 50 minutes after I arrived) she said "your appointment is for 3pm" and I corrected her and said 2 pm... she then replied with, but you were late... I explained 12 minutes late doesn't warrant an hour wait. Caroline said she had other people ahead of me and didn't seem to care or be apologetic. If Caroline was double or triple booking, she could have rescheduled, because I was running behind schedule. For these reasons, I will never return to Caroline. I truly believe that if I were Hispanic that the treatment would have been significantly different. I am also a part of a local mom group in Inwood/ Ft. George with 2.6k members and I do plan to tell everyone in the group to AVOID at ALL COST going to this salon. It is very unfortunate, because I do believe Caroline is a very talented stylist that has a lot of opportunity for growth outside of the Bronx if she were ever to choose that route. Word of mouth can be very powerful for generating a referral base, but can also work against you when you treat a customer with a powerful social backing terribly. read more

Horrible service. I sent my mom to get a wash and set and the owner spoke to her so unprofessional. When my mom got her hair washed, the lady wet her back by mistake so my mom asked the owner for a towel and the owner caroline gave her such a bad attitude and replied "why didn't you tell me when u saw me walking to the back" so my mom replied "when a person is getting their hair washed aren't you suppose to put a towel on 1st" and the owner ignored her. Then while the owner is blowing out my moms hair she was doing it so rough and just straight down. No love into her work. On top of that charges my mom $90 for a wash and set. I been a nail tech for 10 years so I know customer service and I never complain about price because I myself can be pricey but I make sure my customer feels good and has my attention. But $90 with how my mom was treated. NEVER AGAIN read more

Amazing experience. Found them on yelp. Looking for a local spot. I came on Good Friday. Assumed I would be there a long time but got there around 10am and left by 12. Amazing quick service due to the fact there were already 4 ppl there before me and my daughter. I love both our end results and I was pleased with the service. The place is also esthetically pleasing. I was even given a free pair of lashes which i love. Will def be back soon! read more

I was charged 45 dollars for wash and set. I have never been charged that much- if the price was fair, I would go back because my hair looked amazing but I pay 35 where I usually go so I'll keep going to my place. read more

This is my HONEST review about this place. I wasn't going to write a review but everytime I pass by this place it gets me upset. I went to this hair place over a year ago for a simple wash & set. I told the lady to leave me in the dryer for an 1hr or more , cause my hair takes awhile to dry... mind you was the only one there. She then rushed me out in 40mins knowing that my hair was damp. When I woke up the next day my hair looked like a huge Afro. I then went back to her , and this lady had the nerves to ask me what did I do to my hair? Plus wanted to charge me .. so I left. So I went back after months just to enhance the color I had ... the lady with the black hair as extremely rude and asked to see a picture of the color and asked me IF I AM TRYING TO BE WHITE .. in front all her customers . She proceeded to be rude and belittle me ,laugh and snap her fingers telling me not to think to much and the price was 250. She kept saying hurry up make up your mind. I couldn't believe how nasty and unprofessional she was. I was so desperate I went this past summer. I was going to pay the 250 cause the colors were nice and like I said I was desperate. I told her I was ready for the color now the one with the shorter hair comes to me and starts lecturing me like am I a child and yelling at me. Then she whispered to me that the price was now $350. People if you want nice color do research , there's no way I can give my hard earned money to this place. Don't believe the hype ... go downtown they will be more pleasant for the same job. They think they the best because the hair stylist around the area are not going back to school to refresh their skills and learn new things. These 2 women are Hustlers for their money but don't care about their customers. Everyone downtown is using olaplex for color , these 2 women think they discovered it. Plus if you go on their Instagram and zoom in you can see the imperfections in color. Final thoughts ...They are RACIST and RUDE and extremely ARROGANT . They need to be Professional stop talking nonsense at your job , be pleasant , be fair in prices to everyone equally. stop drinking at your job if you wanna say that u guys are #1 . Yes #1 here along these other hair stylist that don't want to go back for more education . Cheap champagne and cheap coffee in plastic cups doesn't make you #1. they will do this to draw in customers on instagram. I wish more people would write reviews cause everyone around here says the same about them but don't bother writing reviews. It's like having a right to vote and not using it... then you get stuck with GARBAGE. It's a woman owned business that makes women feel like Poop. Ladies I don't know about you but when I get my nails done I just like to be pampered in peace without the drama and put downs ... my hair deserves it as well. This salon was the absolute best! All of the women that work here are friendly, professional, and excellent at what they do! I came in for a balayage and cut and I couldn't be happier with my hair. Found this place on here, and I'm glad I did. Great customer service. They got to me as quickly as they could despite it being Thanksgiving day. Was served Champagne while I waited, and they were always very attentive of my needs and wants. I asked for a blunt hair cut and it came out perfect. Hair blown out to perfection and beautiful curls as well. Even the wash was great. She made sure to wash my hair squeaky clean. Loved everything! I will definitely be returning. read more

I was looking for a hair salon in Riverdale, one especially run by Dominicans. And I think I found the right place. This salon is small, but it is very clean, the deco is smart and well laid out. The two stylist that were there on Sunday have a good flow of managing clients, so you are not waiting a long time. I went in for a relaxer/trim at 1:30 and was out by 4:30. My hair looks awesome and was happy I found a place in my neighborhood with great business hours and stylists that can do hair! I will be back! Thank you Hermania. read more
