Very very bad service. First i was made to wait for a long time before anybody responded. Then when front desk person came and had some doubts, asked supervisor some questions, instead of answering me when i am standing right there, supervisor has to treat me like i was invisible. This is not how you treat your customers. And yeah the place is super small. Be prepared to play bumpy bumpy. Disappointingly small collection of frames on display. There are other better shops in 2 miles radius of this shop. Do your selves favor by going there instead of this shop and avoid trouble. read more

This is my 3rd year with Golden Dublin Optometry and since we only go once every year, all I can say is that Staff member were courteous but not a fan of the doctors. Twice, for the last 2 years we've been visiting, they seem like they always have to rush giving you an exam after we waited for them like almost half an hour. In fairness, they have quite a selection for glasses though and that's one thing I was happy about not like the previous one we used to go to. But then only 3 stars for me. I'm just okay for now since we just visit once a year. read more

Terrible staff and customer service. I had countless reminders in mail, phone call, and text from them to go in for an annual eye exam, so I made an appointment through the link they texted me. When I arrived, they told me that they do not honor appointments through their own system. Why even text me the link???? The staff offered no help or apology for it and rudely just said "oh we don't use that." Honestly, any higher or lower end stores do not have that snobby of workers. And for browsing at glasses, there's around 4 people at the registration desk having conversations with each other, but no one to help you look at glasses. There was only 1 person on the display floor while there was at least 5 parties who wanted to look at glasses. Well thank you for wasting my time. read more

Really disappointed. Tried to schedule an appointment here for a new patient. Called. Scheduled for Saturday morning without issue (I got a new insurance company so I have to switch doctors). Show up for my appointment a few minutes early and they tell me I was wrong, that my appointment was next week (memorial day weekend). I said no, and even showed them the email reminder I received from them. At that point they hand me the paperwork to fill out. I asked "since you don't have me on the schedule can you still see me for my appt?" They go "well see". So what? I'm supposed to sit there all day while you try to squeeze me in? I left. I actually would have been less upset if they said we had a technical glitch. Sorry. Can we reschedule? But not being upfront and telling me that if I sit around for awhile they may be able to squeeze me in (what if I hadn't asked?). That's shady. Hunt for a new eye doctor continues. read more

Their manager(don't want to name), yells while explaining the things, clearly showing that she is mad and frustrated. They should know, that they are NOT doing any favor or giving away things for free to the customers. We, as a customer, pay a good amount for the services. Be respectful and courteous. Having been with Kaiser Permanente my entire life, along with my terrible vision genetics (got my first glasses at age 7), I was very nervous about switching optometrists after I started my first job post-graduation. I searched up VSP doctors that are open on Sundays (very important for someone who doesn't want to take time off work!) and cross-referenced them to their Yelp ratings... And Golden Dublin Optometry was my final decision. Golden Dublin is located in Ulferts Center in Dublin -- if you don't know what it is, it's a square filled with Asian stores and restaurants. As a result, they're very Asian-friendly and serve Mandarin-speaking customers as well. The office itself is cozy and clean. Logistic-wise, they got through everything very quickly and efficiently. Also, props to the workers for being incredibly patient with my indecisiveness... It took me over half an hour to pick out my new glasses, and they had to painstakingly take the frames out of the drawer each time I wanted to try them on. My actual eye exam was done by Dr. Laurel, who is easy to talk to and probably one of the most charming, genuine people I have ever met. During the exam, she asked me about my life, told me about her life, and gave me some great advice on my outdated contact lenses -- instilling trust and showing that she really cared about my wellbeing. The professionalism and geniality of all the workers there astounds me. When you visit any sort of establishment, you can tell when people care, and when people love their job. Every single worker there seemed to exude both of these qualities. I'm very, very impressed with Golden Dublin and I'll definitely be coming back here whenever I need anything vision-related. read more

downgrading my already poor review to one star after my previous review, Mina from Golden Dublin Optometry replied and asked me to return so they could make it right. I did return today, I was in the area and just walked in. I didn't tell them I was coming the first thing the person at the desk said, barely looking up from her paperwork, was "do you have an appointment" there wasn't one single customer in the store. it was early afternoon on a Friday, so it's not like she was overwhelmed by other customers "ummm no, I don't but I bought these glasses here and they don't fit right" she didn't look at them on my face, didn't ask to see what the problem was, only asked "are they loose" so I said yes, not really understanding why she didn't even want to look at me or see how the glasses fit she held her hand out for me to give her the glasses and disappeared into the back. returned a few mins later, handed me the glasses and said "is this better" I was so annoyed I just said yes and left I've been wearing eyeglasses my entire life and I have NEVER bought glasses from a store when they didn't sit down with you, with the heated sand and tools or whatever, and put the glasses on and off, make small adjustments and make sure everything was perfect before the customer left this place simply sells glasses and doesn't care AT ALL what your experience is after they get their money. I have really tried to give them the benefit of a doubt over the ~three years I've been coming here, but I will never set foot in here again and I will never recommend this place to anyone whoever responded to my original review said they would discuss these concerns with their management and the entire staff. clearly, the management and staff doesn't take these issues seriously read more

This is a nice enough store with nice people to help you. They have high end frames like Prada, Dita, ferragamo, Dior, etc, catering toward high end customers. However they have a no return, no exchange, you step out of the store and it's yours policy. They don't stand behind our product. Even if the frames were unaltered and no prescription lens were placed. Not what you expect from "high end" business. You wouldn't expect that from Nordstrom or even everyday store like Target. Think really carefully and really know you are not overpaying or you may dislike the glasses when you get home. You pay and their backs are turned. Not a comfortable feeling when you purchase $500+ frames here. They should rethink their policy. I will think really hard before I buy here. Yucky taste in mouth now. read more

I went to this place because of the high reviews on Yelp. But unfortunately, the experience is awful. I went to the clinic on time. But they told me that doctor was still with the last patient. I waited for 30 MINUTES before someone gave me eye pressure test. And then, I waited ANOTHER 20 MINUTES before the doctor did check my eyes. After the doctor gave me dilation, I waited ANOTHER 20 MINUTES! I know I need to wait for the eye to be dilated, but no way for 20 minutes. Overall, I spend about 1 hour and 30 minutes in the clinic, but they checked my eyes less than 10 minutes. Several people come after me who finished their eye exam and left. The staffs talked very loud. They should keep quite in the clinic. I would not go back to this place and I would not recommend anybody go their place. read more

Do not come here for frames...it's completely overpriced! I was shopping around the Dublin area for some nice glasses and found Prada ones I liked for $300 somewhere else, but they were $360 at Golden Dublin. I ended up ordering Tiffany frames for $300 elsewhere, but they were also $360 at Golden Dublin. I like supporting small businesses, but this place is even more expensive than large chains like Lenscrafters, where my glasses were only $340. The staff was helpful in letting me try on a lot of different pairs of glasses, but she unbudging with giving a $10 discount or price-matching. In the end, it was just more worth it for me to drive slightly further for a much better deal. Also, I called to inquire about frames before going into the store and left my name, number, and a message with one of the staff members, but no one ever called me back...horrible customer service! read more

Great selection of designer frames. Prices seem a bit elevated, the Tiffany sunglasses for $415 could easily be found at less then $300 on the internet. I've purchased 3-4 pairs of glasses and have been happy. My only complaint is that I brought in a pair of brand new Coach frames that needed new lenses and since I've gotten them back the frames around one of the lense split and since I didn't purchase the frames there they won't fix them. read more

So far so good!!! I had walked by this place a million times eating my usual Asian fare at the Ulferts center. But when I'd far extended the last pair of contact lens I had... it was time to get my eye exam done so that I could get my refresher contact lens supply. I called Golden Dublin and they managed to fit me in despite a hectic schedule they had. Being someone who's very apprehensive about insurance coverages as well, I had also called ahead to make sure that my insurance was accepted, and I think the manager of the practice (Wendy) took hold of the situation and called my insurance company so that we knew upfront what the coverages are, etc, etc. With Asian places, I'm usually a little cautious with how they would handle the whole insurance situation and I'm so happy that they she took control of the situation and helped me do the research. When I got in for my appointment, to be honest, I've never seen a practice so busy!!! The flow of customers coming in was almost like clockwork, so I definitely appreciated even more that they took such good care of me even before I stepped in. Dr. Laurel was my designated optometrist, she was very patient, clear and concise about explaining the ins and outs of near-sightedness, and also explained every step of the way why she conducted certain tests. Lo and behold!!! I think my previous optometrist had given me eye prescriptions that were too strong!!! No wonder I've been feeling those bad headaches with those glasses for almost 2 years now! Right now, I'm trying on her new prescription for the 1st week to make sure that they are comfortable and to see if my eyes settle in. I love that she didn't just give me a prescription and send me packing. I really appreciate that we're doing this carefully, and step by step so that I'll have a good prescription for my near-sightedness for years to come. I feel like I've found a good place I can return to. I'm looking forward to the rest of the process and to finally getting my contacts , and it sounds like I'm off to a good start! read more

I've worn glasses for the past 20 years and have been going to this location for more than 6 years. This review excludes the Optometrists because I have not used their services. What I can confidently comment about is their front desk and eyewear supplies. Pros They have a decent selection of Asian-fit (those who struggle without a bridge on their nose so their glasses slide down their face) glasses. Cons Inconsistent help. May take a while for them to acknowledge you if you drop in. Prices on some brands can get marked up pretty high. If you bring your prescription in from elsewhere and end up getting glasses with them, make sure you review the charges. They either "sneak in" the copay or just automatically add it to every sale. read more

I am very happy with their service. Dr. Khahn-LinhVo Dang ("Dr. Lin") has done my eye exams. She is very professional and helpful. Her exams are excellent. Wendy, the office manager I believe, and Dr. Lin are the kind of people who remember everyone's name and calls you by name as you enter. Wendy has been super helpful to me in choosing glasses frames and lense options. Recently I had a problem with a broken frame and a a scratched lense. Wendy helped make sure I got the full advantage of the frame and lense warranties. The frame and lense were replaced just for the cost of shipping. So, my sight is not the best, but also not the worst. I decided it was time to get glasses primarily for night driving and I figured why not get it in the same center I eat at least 3 days a week and go to the dentist? Winning! My experience was fantastic! The Dr. was so sweet and really answered all my questions (even I can admit some were ridic) very thoroughly. They ended up working it out in some way that I had to basically pay nothing for my frames (I guess insurance isn't a tooootal waste) and they have such a great selection of frames. Also, the office is very accommodating. My dad also goes here and he slept through his appointment and they let him come in later (he's so responsible obviously). read more

I finally found a place to take my daughter to get her eyes checked. Hooray! Dr. Dang is fabulous. Not only is she thorough but she is good with kids and she knows her stuff. My daughter (6) is pretty fidgety and Dr. Dang knew just what to say in a nice even tone to get her to stay still. ***Very kid-friendly here*** Since we were new here we filled out the necessary paperwork with ease, and were lead to the back where the examination took place. Then my daughter was able to pick out the frames she wanted according to her insurance coverage. Her new frames will be ready in two weeks and we cannot wait to come back here and pick them up. I found this place on Yelp! because I was looking for a place that accepted VSP insurance and who also carried Ray-Bans frames available in store. Most places don't offer Ray-Bans (boo!) but Golden Dublin Optometry does. I arrived on time and filled out necessary (standard) paperwork, and waited maybe 10 minutes until the staff started on my tests... They had brought up all my insurance information beforehand so there wasn't any extra waiting time on that. The machines they had were a lot more thorough than I had ever experienced before. They had this eye-pressure machine that blew air into my eye (not in a bad way) that my previous optometrist didn't use. Also they had a peripheral vision test thing that was pretty cool too. The doctor I saw was a very nice, younger lady that was very accommodating and answered all of my questions and was very informative. Their exam room used all digital testing, i.e. (instead of a poster of letters on the wall with a moving light, it was a reflective computer screen that they use here at their office. Pretty cool. Makes me feel like my previous Eye Doctor was stuck in the stone-age. After all my tests were done, the gentleman that helped me pick our my frames was really helpful in the process of selecting my frames. I pretty much knew what I wanted but he was very helpful in finding prices and letting me know what was on back-order and what was available right away. I picked out the Ray-Bans Wayferer's with Rx and transition lenses and it only cost me less than $100 (after my insurance). I was expecting to pay a lot more, honestly! Overall today was a great experience. They have a HUGE selection of frames, so you won't get stuck with over priced frames from a small selection like other eye doctors. Don't forget to go to their website and print out their $20.00 gift certificate. The guy who helped me offered me $20 off anyway, but in case they don't, make sure you bring it with you! Today was my 2nd visit to them only because I had Lasik surgery done and since I could see almost 20/20 I put off getting an eye exam for the past 2 years. The reason for my visit was a chemical burn I had in one eye. I called right when they opened and spoke to Wendy their office manager. She was extremely helpful and checked to make sure my insurance was going to cover the visit, so I wouldn't have to pay any unnecessary costs. She said the doctor could see me in about 30 minutes. I went there and they greeted me warmly with a smile. Dr. Laurel checked out my eye and was very friendly, informative and always asked if I had any questions or concerns that she could answer. I ended leaving with a new pair of Gucci sunglasses, since their Gucci representative was there showing them their new styles. Highly recommend!!! I think a million times before writing a negative review. But this place has very well earned it. I came here because they are in my insurance and in the neighborhood. A big big mistake. I saw Dr. Dang and she sped through the eye exam. I felt like I had a drive through eye exam. The choices for frames were not that great. They kind of pushed me to get top quality lenses. When the glasses was ready they didn't fit me and they had no solution for that. Worst place ever. No customer service. If there was an option they would get -5 star from me. Dr. Dang was very friendly and patient when answering all of my questions. She discussed the procedure I was receiving a consultation for and gave me a referral. I left my appointment feeling well informed, and appreciated the resources she shared with me. The receptionist greeted me with a warm welcome and explained the new patient forms I needed to complete. I had a great experience with the staff but the office was a mess. They store their client files in the lobby which is a security issue. The sliding panels on the cabinet were all open with the files exposed. Private client information is included in those files and are easily accessible. Behind the receptionist's desk were more client charts stacked in piles on the floor. There were other random documents strewn across the floor as well. I really liked Dr. Dang but these other aspects of her practice concerned me, and challenged my trust in leaving private information in their care.
