Came here based on a recommendation and sorely regretted wasting my time and money. They make comments about patients loudly in front of their patients--not just the office staff, but also the optometrist. I know they are trying to be efficient, but there are ways to be efficient without making your customer feel like they're a burden rather than a paying client. And it wasn't like I was dawdling or doing something stupid either. I have been to see many Optometry offices in my life and hands down by far this is the best one ever!!!! Everyone is super professional and friendly!! Wendy the Office Manager and her staff always go above and beyond in their customer service!!! Also the Doctors are amazing as well!!! The environment is always warm and welcoming with a good selection of designer frames!!!! I came yesterday and Wendy was amazing and even gave me a new solution to try for my contacts!!!! I went there seeing the reviews , but my experience was ok. Selection of glasses is limited and expensive, nevertheless I ended up purchasing one. Employees are not very friendly and don't have much involvement in enabling us decide on a pair. Delivery of glasses takes 2 weeks and I was not informed about it. read more

Summary: Stay away if you want a respectful, hassle-free experience. I saw Dr. Dang based on reading her good reviews here. That's why I was so confused when I had such a poor experience. She speeds through the eye exam and did not give me adequate time to really determine which choice is better during the checks. The check is performed using a mirror instead of the traditional projection screen, which introduces some glare and makes it harder to see the characters than normal. She kept rushing me, and it felt like I was wasting her time based on how quickly she was putting me through the procedures, and it really made me feel uncomfortable since I am someone who wears glasses as long as I am awake, and I need to feel confident my prescription is accurate. At the end of the exam, as she was discussing her findings with me, it really sounded to me like... as if she was talking down to me? Her voice was somewhat loud and she was talking slowly, like you would to a child. It's not how I heard her talk to her staff in the front room. I saw that the place had many child patients, but it is pretty obvious that I'm a grown adult. Oh, and she doesn't even do most of the tests herself, as the office assistants do a lot of tests before and after seeing the doctor. Are they even qualified for that? It felt somewhat unprofessional. After that uncomfortable exam situation I got the script, and went to pick frames. Like I said, I am very conscious of getting good glasses and making sure everything is well-taken care of because I use them for 16 hours a day on average. The staff weren't too helpful, but I don't mind. I just need to be able to try on the pairs I want to try on. The worst part was that after I had chosen my frames, the girl who was measuring my eyes in relation to the lenses ("dotting") messed up a couple times. Each time she messed up, she didn't completely remove the dots from the lens. After the third time she messed up, she finally used solution and a cloth to remove her mistakes, and dotted me one final time. I was wondering why she made so many mistakes, as I didn't think she was new at it. After she was done with me, I saw her with her personal things (purse, jacket, etc.) rushing out the door. So... it turned out all this time she had rushed her job with me because she needed to leave. Now, I get that people have things they need to do, but please ask someone else to help me in that case. She actually did a bad job with the dotting since the first pair that was made for me made me terribly nauseous. I had to go again and get them re-done. What a waste of my time, for crying out loud! In the end, after getting my lenses re-did *twice*, I still couldn't really adjust to them. I finally gave up trying to give them chances to correct their mistakes or figure out what the matter was. I listened to my instinct and I instead went to my former optometrist which was a bit farther out (and, really, I should have just done that in the first place...). It's also really hard to get someone to help you if you don't have connections. They (staff and Dr. Dang included) seem to really favor long-time customers and people they know over the new patients. While I was sitting there waiting for my appointment/for frame service (I had already checked in, they knew I was there), multiple parties walked in and essentially cut ahead of me, because the staff spent time talking with them and even helping them with what they needed. Dr. Dang was all big on smiles for her return customers, which was really asymmetrical with the service I felt I got from her. The thing is, after someone on their staff found out that I knew one of their previous employees, there was no delay in helping me at all after that -- funny that! In summary, if you're a busy person like me and like to have people do a good job when checking your eyes and making your glasses, then stay far, far away from this place. Really, I did not feel Dr. Dang lived up to her glowing reviews here, which was the primary reason I went. If you're a long-time customer of theirs, then I'm sure you're happy with what you're getting, and that's fine, too. To me, the relationship with my optometrist and their staff is important to me, and I'm happy to say that I won't be spending any of my time (or money) there in the future. PS: As a previous reviewer mentioned, they are in MASSIVE violation of HIPAA regulations due to how insecurely they store their customer files containing private medical information. I asked them for any files they had on me so that I could destroy them myself and they couldn't find my original forms... (wtf). read more

Very bad scheduling and service. They blame the customers when it is their fault for making the mistake on the appointment. Even if you arrive early, they don't tell you how long you have to wait for your actual appointment they placed in their book. You speak to them in English and the ladies there still responds back to Chinese. Not every Asian looking person speaks Chinese. And you can just sit and observe, the ladies are so fake. "Oh, you look nice in these glasses and that..." so FAKE! Bad customer service! Will never go back! read more

Pretty good service. Staff is nice and friendly. The place is a bit crammed to have both eye exam area and sales area in the same general room. It felt like a zoo at times with lots of people talking and kids running around in very little space. TERRIBLE !! The owner of this store 'Yelled' at me after I asked what year model of my sunglasses are. I purchased them there and spent over $1000.00. each one was $500.00 I asked this question because I couldn't see this models on its own brand website, and I couldn't find this information even I searched in the Internet. Then.... All of sudden she shout, " I only sells popular items and don't sell items which stop producing". It made me feel very bad. I don't know which part of my question made her so upset. Can't I ask her even this simple question? Customer shouldn't know what year model of items after spending $1000.00? What's wrong with her? How can she shout at her customer with this kind of simple question? Wow... After you paid money, you should know what kinds of questions she doesn't like. the OD is a nice guy and he explained really well and detailed. Overall my experience of his service was good. However, I don't like a staff pushed me to take the retina check which is not covered by insurance and need to pay out from own pocket. They said that retina check machine is check if optic nerve is compressed. Seriously, If you have symptoms, you would go to see an ophthalmologist and get a full details check up instead of checking by a machine. In addition, They sell cheap quality frames inside and price is unreasonable. You will get a better fames with reasonable price when you go to Walmart and Costco. I called them to cancel the order after two days. a lady with a thick Chinese accent gave me bad attitude over the phone and told me that the frame was sent out to the lab and not able to get a refund of copay. When I went to pick up the glass and they didn't ask me to try it on and offer me to adjust the fame. To be honest, I learned a lesson this time and I won't go there again. read more

I came here for new lens for my 2 pair of glasses. Dr. Dang did an excellent job on getting my the right prescription glasses. Very impressive with the excellent service and attention. Not the cheapest place for glasses but if you want results this is the place for excellent glasses that you can really used. I've been a customer at GDO for many years. Although I feel their prices are a bit high compared to chain stores you find at malls, Costco, etc. their selection and service are exceptional! Take for instance my last visit there. My Eclipse clip-ons broke and needed repair. The first thing they do is see if it's still under warranty. Since mine were over a year old it was no longer covered. I was told the repair would take on average two weeks. I requested for a rush order and a replacement case (yeah that broke, too) as I would be leaving town in two weeks. I got an unexpected call from them today (exactly a week later) and was told my clip-ons were ready for pick up. Wow! Very impressed and pleased. 5-stars go to Kim for EXCELLENT customer service and really taking care of her customer! Highly recommended. Thank you. read more

I never write reviews but I owe one to this place. This place is awesome. Last year, I came here to get glasses week before my travel. Wendy went out of her ways to get me glasses in time that would have taken over 2 weeks in normal process. She called the vendor everyday and got them air shipped for me. I found myself in same situation again last week with my glasses bridge broken right before big event this weekend. I thought I was going to spend hundreds of dollars on glasses and would not have glasses for the event. But once again Wendy came to my rescue, she ordered the broken piece with high priority delivery and fixed my glasses today for minimal charge. This place defines good customer service. read more

I was very impressed with my exam with the Doctor. The facility is small but they have a great selection of frames and I felt the staff overall was accommodating. My one complaint is that I felt the young girl assisting me with a frame selection wasn't really listening to what I was saying and could have been more proactive in helping find the perfect frames. She is much more than a front office manager, she is a full service customer care expert, and an entertainer to boot. I came here for an exam several years ago and wasn't too impressed with the whole experience, but the sunglasses I bought from them was accidentally damaged and I came in for a fix. To my surprise, the assistant/staff that helped me with fixing my sunglasses was super knowledgeable and I kindly asked for another adjustment of my other sunglasses that I bought from other optometrist (with unskilled staff apparently). After the adjustment, it was a perfect fit! so thankful. In summary, they have issue with scheduling/waiting, and contacting customer when glasses arrived, but I'm so impressed by their skilled staff, I would probably go back. read more

First I have to apologize because this review is way overdue, since I've been out of state and extremely busy with personal and family things. But I just have to write this review to show how I appreciate and thankful for the help and assistance from the staffs at Golden Dublin Optometry, hat tip especially for Wendy, the office manager there! I hope she still remember us! So it all started when I was looking for a new eye doctor, like others, I searched on Yelp first and by far this place has most positive reviews, so I went there accompanied by my mom to see the place and ask if they also work with my vision insurance. Upon entering, it was busy and several patients were waiting on the sofa. Wendy, despite being busy, told us to have a seat and wait and she will help us, she kindly help me and patiently answered my question regarding the insurance, confirming the coverage and everything...so we feel comfortable and rest assured because certainly she knows what she's doing and an expert in this field (she also has good sense of humor too!). Then she set me up with an appointment for an eye exam with Dr. Dang. On the day of the appointment, we arrived early and checked in, then wait a moment until Dr. Dang called me in. Dr. Dang is very knowledgable and she explained and answered all the questions that I have regarding my vision. She also very professional and really care about her patients, she even tried a several contact lenses on me to see which one that I like the best and feel comfortable with, to ensure proper fit. After the exam, I want to buy a new glasses and decided to get the one with brand name Burberry. Wendy helped me with selecting and trying the glasses and even ensuring that I get the proper size that fits my face! because the Burberry frame that I like has two sizes, one small and the other one is bigger, then she went ahead and provided both sizes for me to try to ensure that I get the one that I like and fits the shape of my face. She is really patient and professional. Not only that, she is also very kind and nice and go above and beyond to help the patients! When me and my mom visited again to pick up my frame, my mom had a painful feeling in her teeth area and she kindly gave a traditional chinese medicine that she brought from Taiwan to my mom! My mom and me are very thankful and appreciate her kindness and help. We never forget that. Thank you Wendy, Dr. Dang, and all staffs at Golden Dublin Optometry! I was totally disappointed by the rules set by Golden Dublin Optometry. I and my entire family have been their customers for more than 5 years. We had both eye exam and glasses done there every time. However, due to limited frame selections, I could not find any frame I like after the eye exam this time. As a result, I bought a brand new frame from Italy, and tried to have my glasses done in Golden Dublin Optometry. However, the store mandated me to sign a "Used Frame Disclaimer". This disclaimer relinquishes Golden Dublin Optometry from any liabilities, if the frame is damaged during the lab processing. When I asked them the reason, they said because I did not buy the frame from them. This is a totally unfair business practice. This meant that either I had to buy the frame from them, or they did not want to take any responsibility even they caused the damage. If I did not sign the disclaimer, they won't make the glasses for me, per Dr. Linh Vo Dang, O.D, from Golden Dublin Optometry. What kind of business they are running??? read more

Got the promise, went there, everything was okay. then got a call & was told that someone " make an honest mistake". It's $10 difference. Sure, no harm, just $10. Went there in December for my eye check up and recently also for my kids' check up. Both Dr. Dang and her sister Dr. Vo are very thorough and friendly. They are also very good with children and my kids love them. They showed a genuine concern for the health and comfort of our eyes. Just before year end, my daughter's last contact lens was torn and Dr. Dang was willing to help out even before seeing her in January. Now that's an awesome customer service! All their staff are very friendly and patient, too - waiting on us to make the hard selection. I found this place through Yelp and definitely regretted coming here. I came for an eye exam and found myself wasting a lot of my time. I waited for about 15 minutes for the optometrist to come in. As soon as the optometrist came in, she looked at the time. After doing a short test, she left the room (to attend to another patient) in which I was again left for another 15-20 minutes. When she came back, she continued to keep her eye on the time. I felt like the whole process was very rushed. The way she spoke to me and how fast she was trying to finish everything. In the end, they also try to force you to pay as much money as you can through your insurance. I'm paying hundreds of dollars through one visit and I would appreciate it if they do not stack their patients within the same time frame and take time to answer their patient's questions. My son was only 2 1/2 and needed a very high RX glasses. We had gone to see Dr. Nyong'O at PAMF and were stunned that my son's RX was +7!!! He recommended that we go to see Golden Dublin for children's glasses and they would take care of us. Dr. N is a fantastic MD and comes really highly recommended but we were just stunned so we made an apt to get his eyes rechecked there. Dr. Vo was such a sweetheart and came to the same conclusion as Dr. N. She took lots of time with us and then we came to choosing the glasses. This is one of the few places that carries Solo Bambini frames (they look like goggles) which are what you would need for such a small kid who also has a younger brother who will pull his glasses! Alan spent quite a bit of time with us making sure we understand everything and we were set! They were ready within a few days and everything was perfect!!! I would give it 5 stars but the store is really tight and has barely room to walk in it :( read more
