    Pappy Van Winkle 12

Redo by new owners last year but still a Dive Bar. And a good thing it is. Huge and amazing selection of bourbons, whiskey American and Scotch, vodkas and everything else you could imagine. I've use this before but John Wayne would feel comfortable here. So would any real guy and gals for that matter. It's friendly and safe. Not a scary biker bar just a local drinking establishment and note-- no food. A stick to your knitting place -- I came because a bar tender in Mendocino told me they had Pappy VanWinkle bourbon. I had to see for myself - and I fact they do have Pappy. I had the 12. Wonderful, smooth-- lives up to the hype. You drink it neat- no water or ice. It's not needed nor recommended. One important note-this is expensive. They charge double what most other places charge. So if you want it "now" it's up to you. Its almost impossible to find so you decide what its worth to you. Have fun

Being the oldest bar in the City of Fort Bragg California you are for sure to run into a local or two. The bloody Mary bar is best in town by far. #MoneyMikeChallenge

Unlike many people, I love going into old bars that have that slight dive feel and looks like they are straight out of the golden years. My husband and I went in on a Sunday Afternoon to get a couple drinks, and they had a Bloody Mary bar....yes a make your own Bloody Mary bar!! The bartender give you your drink and you put the items you want in it! Genius!! Besides that, the bar tender was a nice guy who talked about local happenings and gave great suggestions.

My friend and I had a wonderful dinner here!…read more We started with drinks: both amazing. Then we ordered a bunch of food to share and they brought everything out slowly so we could eat it after it was freshly made. We got the oysters, slider, poke bowl, short rib, and fresh mozzarella bruschetta (I think the last one was a special). All so good! The ambiance was really nice with comfortable seating, fun lighting, and great music. I'd def recommend this place and go back myself!

With excitement in her eyes, she described the delicious tropical-inspired cocktails with good vibes to match. Since I had an upcoming birthday, I bookmarked the restaurant so that we would remember to visit it during our stay in Calistoga. After arriving in Calistoga on a Friday evening, my wife and I thought that it would be appropriate to have dinner and drinks at Robert's. Upon walking through the entrance of the restaurant, we observed a nice backyard-style layout with televisions tuned to the NBA playoffs, patrons enjoying glasses of wine, and a DJ playing smooth yacht rock tunes. A friendly employee informed us that it was open seating, so we sat ourselves along the padded seating in close proximity to the DJ. Shortly afterwards, a server came by to take our orders. My wife ordered the short rib, garlic fries, and the Sip It Slowly cocktail; I ordered the Jamaican Jerk Chicken, Dumplings (suggested by the server), and the Jerk Old Fashioned. While we awaited our orders, the server brought us a delicious miniature size soup - which was absolutely delicious and definitely a tease! Shortly after, our drinks arrived. I found my drink to be delicious, strong, and was intrigued by the flavor that the little piece of submerged jerky provided. However, I will admit that I was a bit jealous when I snuck a couple sips of my wife's delicious cocktail. Up until the arrival of our meals, I was impressed. My wife found the short ribs to be just ok; additionally, her fries were lukewarm upon arrival and dry (as if they were overcooked). I have had Jamaican jerk chicken in Jamaica, so my expectations were very high. Unfortunately, the chicken was not flavorful and did not have the "kick (spice)" that I anticipated. Surprisingly, the highlight here was the dumplings (delicious!) and the Hint of Passion cocktail that I ordered (if I had a signature drink- this would be it!). I really should have listened to my intuition when we initially observed that a majority of the other patrons were just indulging in drinks, no food. When our server brought us the bill totaling roughly $160, I couldn't help but feel like the food was not in alignment with the price point. I wanted so badly to like this establishment, but honestly could not see myself returning for anything other than one of their cocktails.

Our server Brian was thoroughly knowledgeable about the food and preparation of every dish, while being personable and friendly throughout the entire meal. I was wildly impressed with the efficiency of the kitchen getting food out as well. We had the guava cucumber mocktails which were refreshing and crisp, as well and ginger beer and it was great! The brisket tacos were cooked to perfection and the puree at the bottom of the taco is such a great suprise! My husband got the bahn mo special and I of course stole a bite or two. It was so fresh and falvorful. The fries were tossed in soy sauce syrup and green onions and were mind blowingly good. The entire staff was warm and pleasant. The young staff even made eye contact and engaged with us! haha We will absolutely be back to try the rest of the options they have to offer.

Absolutely immaculate and so fresh they taste like they just leapt out of the Pacific and onto your plate. Briny, clean, and ice-cold, they set the tone for a dining experience that only gets better. Next up: the torched salmon sashimi which is a masterpiece of craft. Lightly flame-kissed to bring out the richness without losing its silky texture, it's the kind of dish that makes you slow down and savor every bite. And then there's my personal addiction: the glazed pork belly. Perfectly rendered, meltingly tender, and finished with a glaze that strikes that magical balance between savory, sweet, and just a hint of heat. Honestly, if they offered this by the bucket, I'd order two. The Beehive doesn't stop at the food either. Their bar is loaded with a thoughtfully curated selection of spirits, including some incredible homespun specialties you won't find anywhere else. Happy hour here is happy for a reason combining amazing deals, handcrafted cocktails, and a vibe that just makes you want to linger. Bottom line: The Beehive isn't just a restaurant, it's a lifestyle decision. Fresh seafood, inventive bites, incredible drinks, and a welcoming scene all in one spot. Trust me this needs to be your go-to for any occasion when you are in our County seat.
