It turned out to be the perfect place to relax with pizza and beer on a sunny coastal afternoon. The beer list had plenty of great options, and the pizza arrived surprisingly fast. We went with a pepperoni pie, and the thin crust was exactly what we were hoping for. It was crispy around the edges with just the right amount of chew and plenty of perfectly crisped pepperoni cups. The atmosphere was laid back and welcoming, making it an easy place to linger after a day on the road. One important thing to know ahead of time is that Piaci is cash only, so come prepared. This place was really cute -- lots of art on the walls and a very lively atmosphere. It was quite busy, so it was initially a bit tough to figure out where to sit and where to order, but the staff was great: super attentive and friendly. They have both outdoor and indoor seating, so there are a lot of options, especially if you're with kids. We ordered a salad with arugula and goat cheese, which I enjoyed, although it felt a bit overpriced. We also got the Sicilian pizza with sun-dried tomatoes and feta cheese -- I loved the toppings, and it was very flavorful. The staff were all super friendly. The wait was not long at all-- only about fifteen minutes to get my pizza. The price was on the low side at only $14 for a personal size 8 inch pizza. I loved the ambiance. The shop is really cute inside and out. There is plenty of outdoor seating with an ocean view. The alcohol selection was good (although I didn't have any). The menu description of the Rosa pizza sounds good to me: tomato sauce, mozzarella, Canadian ham, Roma tomatoes, basil, herbs. As you can see from the photo, that's like... close to what I received, but with every ingredient subbed for a significantly lower quality ingredient. The tomatoes were not roma-- they were steak tomatoes quartered to look like Roma. Instead of basil, which I love, there was a sprinkling of parsley, which I actually hate. The ham was an American ham steak. Canadian bacon implies thin sliced ham, which would caramelize under a pizza oven like prosciutto. It's a completely different flavor from fat cubes of ham. This tasted like an American grilled ham and cheese sandwich turned into a pizza. The crust looks like a good thin crust in the photos, but it's really a flattened cardboard crust with very little flavor. Even after I added the Italian hot sauce and Calabrian peppers I keep in my car, it still wasn't great. Not the artisan pizza I was hoping for based on the photos and reviews. read more

Hot tip - cash only, minimal seating indoors, more seats outside. Luckily we had cash, I always travel with cash just in case, a lot of small town businesses are cash only. My Foccacia pizza was good, but it would benefit from cheese on it or something to make it pop. The crust reminded me of a ritz cracker. Perhaps if I make it back up there I will try again or make my own. My partners pizza with tomatoes and cheese was so good. We were killing some time before our skunk train on Saturday night and stopped by Piaci for a beer with our 2 dogs. I went inside to order while my fiancé waited outside and I ordered from the bar. It was really busy inside but the bartender was quick to come by and take my order. Both beers were delicious and the pizza of the people next to me looked great and made me wish I had time to order food. What was super nice is that the bartender upon hearing I had my dogs with me gave me some pepperonis to give to my dogs! Super nice and will be back here to try the food! read more

This is the most reviewed and highest rated pizza in Fort Bragg and with good reason, as I'd come to find out! I was enjoying a solo afternoon with my boys and after a couple hours tide pool exploring and a stroll around downtown, we were hungry. I tried to stage the kids off, but after a while waiting for the rest of our family to join us we had to eat, and pizza is always a crowd pleaser, so we set a course for Piaci. Walking up we saw a line out the door. Great sign! It's actually a very small restaurant and inside there are a few tables. a large communal high top table you can gather round, and a big bar where you order. The menu is pretty interesting and goes beyond the basic pizza. I always appreciate that and found several tasty options and had trouble deciding. I ordered a pie with pork belly (thick cut bacon), pesto, caramelized onion and creme fresh. The crust is thin and cooks up nice. It's got a flavor akin to focaccia, which adds up to a tasty pizza. They actually have a sauce less pizza section on the menu called focaccia. I also ordered a classic pepperoni for the kids (fantastic) and I had to order one of their sauce less pizzas worth he house-made sausage! Basic but good. The service was a little curt but thorough. I understood why after seeing the ratio of customers to staff. I'm fairly certain they were serving hundreds of pies with one person in the front and one behind, which was impressive on many levels. My wife and I have both worked in the service industry and don't take writing poor reviews lightly, however this was a real bummer of a night so here goes. The good before the bad: the crust on the pizza was fantastic. It seems they know what they're doing in that area. Server was quiet but friendly. Beer list was varied (not just IPAs) and although the first two beers we asked about off the board turned out to be gone the backup options were pretty good. Place was a good busy, welcoming but not overwhelmingly packed. Now the bad. Pizza took a very long time, even accounting for how busy they were. Our kids were losing it by the 45+ minute mark even though they'd had some salad while waiting. Once the pizza came out it was mostly just crust, with a very thin layer of pesto sauce, three small, spotty smears of chèvre, about a third of a pear sliced thinly, and maybe an ounce or so of prosciutto sprinkled about. $37, for this?? Unreal. When we asked about whether this was the normal amount of chèvre (because it was basically nonexistent) we were told it was mixed into the sauce. Hard to believe, and even if so there wasn't much sauce to speak of. To the server's credit, he did ultimately bring some chèvre out for us but by then our kids had already eaten a slice apiece because they were so hungry and it was so late. When we asked for the bill the server tried to make up for things by comping a new beer but it wasn't enough to undo the very poor experience. This place came strongly recommended and so it was very disappointing to have it go the way it did. Possible kitchen timing mishaps aside (we know those sorts of things happen, but it certainly felt like our order had been forgotten with how many other pizzas came out in the meantime) the value of what we got wasn't even close to what it cost. Other tables' pizzas were far different in regard to toppings, and it wasn't even close. In short, it has potential but we regret taking the chance on it. This spot seems to be a local favorite. You kind of just walk in, get seated, and wait for someone to bring a menu over. Be mindful that it's cash only but there's atms in the back if needed. I got the farmers pizza and added mushrooms. The sausage is house made and has great flavor however they are super skimpy with the toppings. The toppings are also dispersed unevenly. The crust tastes sort of like cardboard and the sauce is plain and flavorless. The pizza was a let down and tasted like something you can get from the frozen section of a grocery store.
