These guys were great and I will call with any future moving needs. They moved everything quickly and with care. The whole process was seamless - when I called to get a quote, the manager I spoke with set up a time for him to come by and make an assessment based on what I needed moved. He was very nice, took a look at everything, and gave me a quote. They came highly recommended and for everything they included, they were by far the most reasonable moving company I had spoken to. I have moved quite a few times and have gotten caught with hidden fees and charges at the end with other companies, but they were completely upfront about everything, which I appreciated. On the moving day the guys showed up on time and immediately got to work. I was shocked at how quickly they perfectly wrapped and moved everything from my third story apartment, down the stairs, and into the truck. From there they followed me to a storage unit and moved everything into the unit - packed so thoughtfully they left me with room to spare. My mother recently moved from Ft Lauderdale to Pembroke Pines and because she is 80, we wanted to give her as much help as possible. I was very worried about finding a reliable company as I have heard a lot of horror stories about moving companies and read many many reviews here on Yelp. A friend recommended Diego and Golden Gate moving, and they could not have been better. Diego returned my mom's call right away and came out to give a quote to pack, move, and unpack over three days. The quote was reasonable and he was able to accommodate her schedule. He even checked in with her beforehand to make sure her moving dates were the same and nothing had changed. He also called back every time to answer questions. The moving guys arrived on time to pack my mom up. They were careful and considerate and took a lot of care with her many antiques. She had stuff everywhere, and they packed everything carefully. They then moved her the next day, and moved some of the furniture around a couple of times at the new place when she wasn't sure where she wanted it. No complaints. Just quick efficient action. They were so professional they made sure my mom left out anything she would need that night since they were not unpacking her until the next day. When they unpacked her, all of her things were there and in good shape. They remembered for the most part where things were in the previous apartment, and the boxes were labeled so unpacking went quickly. Then they removed all of the boxes and took them away. I was so so impressed by their professionalism and patience. Diego called at the end of the job to make sure all went well! I don't know that I have ever had any moving company call me AFTER a job. I selected Goldengate because they moved my neighbor (and friend) into my community so I knew they had a good idea of what the move would require. My neighbor is also very picky and has used them for several moves so I knew anyone she referred me to would be good. I wasn't disappointed. Diego--who quoted my move--was excellent, very friendly and followed up all along the way. He was also flexible on the day of my move (I wasn't sure when I would be ready and had plenty of time to move). The price was comparable to other movers who had been referred to me but Goldengate guaranteed their quote to be the price I would pay. On the day of my move, the movers arrived on time and worked quickly and efficiently to get everything out of my old apt and in to my new place. Once there they worked hard to ensure they put all the boxes and furniture where it belonged, even asking me where I wanted things if they weren't sure. After the move, Diego called to be sure everything had gone well. I have NEVER had a mover do that before and it was very much appreciated. All in all, they really made this my easiest move yet. And that's saying something because I've moved so many times I can barely count them--at least 30 times as an adult. This move was a nightmare for me. Diego was wonderful at makithe arrangements and giving me a quote. I paid extra because I wanted them to unpack everything and get rid of all the paper and boxes. The first crew 2 men came and pack all the smaller things. I pointed out twice that the forgot the front closet, but they did forget. They appeared to work fast and be thorough. I made sure they marked the boxes so they would be unpacked in the correct room. They did. The next day scheduled a crew of 4 men came and packed the sofa and all that the first crew didn't pack. They were upset that the first crew didn't pack a lot of things that they should have, including the front closet which I pointed out right away and again late in the job. They were rushing me and wanted to go after they were finished so I hurried. I said I'd meet them at the new address. I waited about an hour for them. I later found out they had gone to lunch, which would have been better if they told me. The 4 of them came in and asked me where furniture went but not all the time. I don't know what or how this happened but just imagine the contents of all the boxes being mixed together and then placed in every which way and room. It is still taking me time to just sort out what goes where and bring it to the correct room before I can put stuff away. Some items were dumped on shelves and the floor of closets. A special glass blown bird was missing. I guessed they broke it and didn't tell. Guess what? They all too never packed the front closet and the next week they finally brought it over. I had them fix the many things that were placed wrong with the furniture. Diego offered me some money back but I felt what his crew did wasn't his fault and maybe I'm also stupid. read more

We had a horrible experience with Goldengate Movers. The men were rude and careless. They broke a very valuable lamp that was part of a 3 piece set. It was my moms and very sentimental and can't be fixed it replaced. It is a clock and 2 lamps out of brass and marble. It's from Bailey Banks and Biddle fine jewelry. The estimate was all inclusive, written into a solid contract and they were under in their estimate compared with 2 other companies. Manager Diego sent us Fritz, Dijon and Jamari to load and unload-same team which made for a more smooth move. From the very first phone call telling us they were on the way until the last box was unloaded at our new place the 'dream team' worked nonstop. They were respectful, kind, personable and patient. They even helped arrange the furniture to make it look just right. I had used Goldengate previously and had a great experience with them so I contacted Diego again about 2 months ago for a move and that will be the last time ever. The quality of his employees was horrific in comparison to 3 years ago when I first found him. All of my furniture had long scratches on it - which happened obviously when they unpacked it from the truck and brought it into my home (hence the dings on my walls) and they either kept or disposed of a huge green trash bag I had packed filled with down pillows which naturally all had to be replaced and broke the leg off of a computer desk. Diego is less than compassionate when anything happens to your belongings and it is more of a use at your own risk! Aside from the damage and missing objects, he gives you a flat rate. Well, let me tell you you are better off paying a company by the hour! I was supposed to have 3 guys and he sent 4 - trying to claim it was to my benefit yet they rushed through everything to get to another job and moved me in and out in 2 hours and the 4th guy basically arranged everything on the truck! Yes, I should be grateful it was quick but NOT at the expense of damaged furniture which ultimately had to be replaced! There was a father and son team with the son being obnoxious and disrespectful throughout the entire process. I had previously recommended 2 others to him and had another I was going to send his way but NOT after this experience. The absolute worst! read more

I had used these guys for two moves in the past and were great. The last move though was not a great experience. The manager came out and looked over all the things we needed to move, agreed to a price and we set a date to move. When they arrived the day of the move the moving "lead" automatically said he is not moving our outdoor plants and called his manager. The manager then began to say that he made a mistake and should not have included the outdoor plants. But it was stated in the contract and we would not have hired them if they could only move 90% of our home. They said they would be back to pick up the plants later in the week, called at the end of the week and said not going to happen, as they are too busy now. I would have recommended them over and over but based on the attitude of the lead hand and the fact they didn't complete the move I would go with another company next time. read more

He told me that, on the form, there is an option for additional insurance for special items and that it had not been elected for. Moing is stressful enough that you dont need movers quoting you one thing then the day of moving, changing their quote. Diego promised a flat quote and that is exactly what we got. He is very nice and professional. He comes to your house and goes over all the items you are moving and he gives you a flat quote. And he honors it. Oh, and he isnt expensive. I had 2 other moving companies gove me estimates and they were almost double of what Diego quoted me and they said it was just an estimate and that factors such as time, traffic, wather etc could change the actual amount on the day of moving. NO THANKS! Diego promised none of those things would factor into my price and he wasnt lieing. Diego calls you a couple of days ahead of the scheduled move to check in and answer any last questions. On the day of my move, the movers ended up having to do 2 trips instead of one and there was no extra charge. They came to my house on time, moved everything efficiently and carefully and they were sooooo nice. We took a lunch break and they played a short game of hoops with my 10 year old. I even had a broken piece of furnture that they tried to fix for me. My husband was shocked at what great service we recieved and to this day he still talks about how pleasant this company made the move for us. read more

Diego was so polite and professional that he was the best choice among the many other companies we had provide estimates. Our new home (near Jacksonville) would not be ready until 4 months after our move out date in SoFlo. The crew that moved us out was phenomenal. They were extremely polite and kind and made suggestions that were very helpful during a stressful day. Our household items were moved into a storage unit in Deerfield Beach (Extra Space Storage-also great experience) until we closed on our new house. The owner told us he would send 3 guys to help us move. Two showed up 1 hour late, the third one showed up 2 hours late worked for probably 30 minutes and disappeared again. Not to mention he got into an argument with us about knowing how to do his job. They also took 1 hour and 30 minutes for a drive that only takes 20 minutes.
