    Custom Birthday Round Cake 6"

Goldenrod Bakeries is one of my favorites places in Lincoln! I have been going for probably the last three years and always have a wonderful time. The shop is beautiful and put together with care, the staff is so friendly and personable and the owner even signed the Goldenrod Bakeries baking book my boyfriend got me as a present, as she happened to be in shop. The treats are delicious, full of flavor, fresh, and so many gluten free, dairy free, or vegan options that whatever you pick is a winner. Even if you pick something you've never tried before! The prices are practical considering the uniqueness of the items and the fact that you are supporting a local bakery. I also ordered my birthday cake from Goldenrod this year and was thrilled with how it turned out. I was even able to slice the cake and save the rest of it in my freezer to eat when I felt like. Take it out of the freezer to sit for one hour and it was just like I picked it up that morning! 5/5 stars, if you haven't been, give it a try yourself! I love giving Goldenrod gift cards as gifts, they also make the perfect stocking stuffers. There's something for everyone.

My favorite at the brownies here! My nephew and I both love coming in and choosing our pastries.

Super friendly staff and a good variety of vegan options. I had a cake pop and a scone. The cake pop(first time I'd ever had one) tasted of only sugar. I really liked the scone. I'll definitely try it again!

This place is amazing! The prices are great too as the items are vegan/gluten free. I had to try their fall flavors and they did not disappoint. The cookie was a bit crumbly as expected(gluten free) but still delicious. My favorite is the pumpkin torte and the donut was not behind. I can't wait to try more of their desserts.

Stepped into this corner bakery while roaming Lincoln, and instantly wanted to try everything. So many options (gluten/dairy free options too)...from cakes and cobblers to cookies, rolls and bars, this place has something for everyone. The inside is very light and open, with a few tables for seating, and a small area for kids to play, with is awesome for parents. Also, a coffee shop next door for a great pairing! I would definitely say Goldenrod has more options than the average bakery, and their flavors are very unique (lemon/cardamom, rubarb, etc). The peach coffee cake I ordered was good but I probably would stick with their cookies next time I go, and there will be a next time. The confetti cookie was incredible, sweet but not overpowering, with a nice soft but not fake texture. Definitely recommended the cookies!

Love love love. I cannot say enough good things about Goldenrod! Every single treat I have tried I have fallen in love with. A few highlights: macarons, fluffer nutters, strawberry rhubarb bars, stroopwafels. The only complaint I have about the macarons is that some of the flavors are very subtle...I tried a lemon lavender one last week that tasted good but I couldn't discern any lemon or lavender flavor at all. All the other pastries I've had have wowed me. I live in Omaha but any time I'm in Lincoln, I make it a point to stop by and pick up a few things. As a GF girl, I can't explain how grateful I am to have a place that sells mostly GF treats! Usually pastry shops will have one or two GF options but I have a hard time deciding what to get here! And everything is high quality, no odd textures (which is a major feat!) and tastes divine. I love the Nebraska inspired name and the fact that it's an all female staff. Girl power! Keep doing what you do, you are making so many people happy!

They have amazing gluten-free baked goods, a great atmosphere, and the best customer service!

We LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Goldenrod!!! Having gluten and dairy free options that genuinely are DELICIOUS and beautiful is so refreshing and wonderful!!! For any special event or just a casual day, goldenrod is always the answer! The service is top notch and intentional!! So thankful for this shop and all they do!

I wanted to love this place. It's cute- the shop and baked goods are photograph worthy. I have bought a variety of treats to try out from here, including an $18 loaf of banana bread, cookies, and cookie sandwiches. I loved the pink boxes, but it ends there for me. This stuff is not good. I thought I may have gone on a bad day when I bought my first set of treats. So I tried it again. Then again. Each time, the deserts were bad. They were so cute and yet so bad, so eating them made me sad. I almost started crying, thinking, "I live in Lincoln and this is the best dessert I will ever eat here." I'm not dramatic, I just really love desserts and supporting local businesses. My cookie sandwiches looked vaguely like the ones on their website, but mine were 1 3/4" thick. The cookies are too thick and there is hardly any filling- they were difficult to bite into. Sadly, I found this place to be disappointing. In sum, overpriced, overrated, and underwhelming. Two stars for effort.

This is a great spot for gluten free options. The cardamom pound cake is one of the best things I've ever eaten...it's so good.

The woman working was incredibly friendly and attentive, which immediately set a great tone. My husband and kids ordered pizza, and I went with a baked potato loaded with the same toppings as their Mediterranean slice. So good!! The pizzas were thin and crispy, exactly how I like them. They even cut the kids' slices into small pieces, which I thought was absolutely genius. Honestly, how is this the first time I've seen that? Our food came with freshly baked bread that was delicious. And really, who can say no to carbs on carbs? They also have a full beer selection, plus a pool table and foosball, which kept the kids entertained while we ate. Yia Yia's is probably my new favorite pizza place. We live in Omaha, but I would absolutely drive to Lincoln just for this pizza. Delicious food, great service, and very reasonable prices. Highly recommend!

I'd heard plenty of positive…read morecomments about the restaurant over the years, so I finally decided to stop in for lunch and see what it was all about. Unfortunately, the first impression could use some improvement. Upon entering, guests step into a small lobby with two interior doors--one designated as the entrance and the other as the exit. Once inside, a host greets you, hands you a menu, and escorts you to your table. Along the way, you pass the restaurant's salad bar, which should serve as an inviting showcase of the food offered inside. Instead, the salad bar was the low point of my visit. On the day I was there, it appeared messy and poorly maintained. A salad bar requires constant attention to keep it looking fresh, attractive, and clean, and that simply wasn't the case during my visit. Given its prominent location, it creates an impression that management should work harder to improve. The Eatery's menu, however, is extensive and impressive. There's truly something for everyone. The unlimited salad bar is priced at $14.99, or $7.99 when added to an entrée. Based on what I observed, that seemed a bit steep, so I decided to pass. Instead, I ordered the Smokey Chicken Stacker with fries on the recommendation of my server. It turned out to be an excellent choice. The sandwich was flavorful, the fries were perfectly prepared, and the meal arrived at my table less than ten minutes after ordering--a testament to an efficient kitchen. Overall, I came away believing that The Eatery serves solid food, but the décor, atmosphere, and overall layout feel somewhat dated and uninspiring. The appearance of the salad bar was the biggest negative of the experience for me. Would I return? If I lived or worked in the neighborhood, probably yes. However, since I don't, it's unlikely that I would make a special trip back.

We both LOVED it. My husband ordered the fire dragon wrap which came with a side of tsunami salad. The wrap was huge and FULL of flavor, the tortilla was grilled which was a nice touch. I ordered the naughty Buddha burger, which is a little spicy, and the bajan rice. I could eat that rice every day and not get sick of it, it's that good. I enjoyed my burger, but my husband and I both agreed that we preferred his wrap. Both of our meals were served with lollipops. Despite being a small restaurant there was plenty of seating, and the Telegraph district has a nice sized parking area so parking was easy too. The only downer is that my kids are pretty picky eaters, and there isn't much on this menu that would appeal to them (except on Saturdays when they serve vegan macaroni and cheese), so we will have to order our food to-go until we get another kid free night.
