Randy's Donuts are widely known as the donut spot in town, and while they may not personally be my absolute favorite (they're large and fairly dense), they are clearly very popular and well-loved. Where they really shine for me is their donut cakes. I've ordered two donut cakes from Randy's, most recently a retirement-themed donut cake, and both were a huge hit with the crowd. They're fun, impressive, and make a great centerpiece for celebrations. That said, I've consistently had issues with the ordering process. Both times I ordered via email, the order was either lost or never fully confirmed. The first time I followed up well in advance, but the second time was more stressful--when I arrived at 6 a.m. to pick up the cake, it wasn't there. To their credit, the staff handled it well. They quickly made a replacement cake for the next day and offered it at half price. They also gave me free rolls the day of, which was a kind gesture, though I would have preferred having the cake as originally planned. In the end, everything worked out, but my biggest suggestion is to double or even triple-check event orders to avoid any last-minute surprises. I stop at the US top at 48th and Nebaska Parkway frequently and Tues May 26th I stopped in and got a glazed donut. I could tell by the look of the glazed something was different it had an odd taste and was nothing like they used to be. I hope they haven't change the recipe I loved the original recipe. read more

Service was awesome, the lady was very kind and helpful. The raised donuts were delicious, they did not have cake donuts or long John's but was still a great place to get donuts at. It's always a good feeling when you walk in and see boxes of donuts prefilled in a place, so they must be pretty good and was! read more

The doughnut case doesn't have lights so if you go before the sun is up, it has a creepy vibe that's reminiscent of Ren & Stimpy's cartoons when something was sick. Nothing looked appetizing and there weren't any labels to know what things were. I went as soon as they opened at 5:30 so that's presumably as fresh as it's gonna get. The glazed doughnut was good. Fluffy and thick, with good flavor. The cake doughnut was apparently red velvet, although it looked like chocolate in the Ren & Stimpy case. Tasted like it was a few days old but flavor was... okay but bland. And the apple fritter! I love apple fritters. But this was horrible. It was either a week old or was severely over-fried. There was no give in the doughnuts' texture, if you dropped it, a piece might break off instead of squish into itself. I took two bites and tasted no apple and nothing but crunch. Apparently their donuts get sold out often. I came here on a Saturday two hours before closing and they had quite a bit left! Located in a plaza and a hole in the wall! We got berry cake donut, and glazed donuts! We bought 4 donuts for about 7$ it was all sooo delicious! It taste light and every part is evenly glazed, I also love that the donuts doesn't have that oily taste, it was perfect! I would come here again, it's a great place to buy donuts for workers, or to impress friends with the amazing donuts! read more

Love this place. I love cake donuts and they are not a thing in the South. A friend of mine treated me to Randy's donuts about a year ago. I have been back there or four times in the last year. It's a sign of great donuts when you see all the boxes for all the area schools. They open early and they sell out early. If you like a good selection then go early. I went rather late last week and we didn't have much of a selection. Now everything was fantastic. Our favorites were sold out, we were on our third favorites and still impressed. It's a complete hole in the wall. There is typically a pretty decent line of people. Great place worth your time and your money. We got a dozen donut holes, our dog liked them and they were still good a day old. The second day, didn't share with the dog. I'm pretty sure I got some serious side eye. read more

This place is in this old strip mall west of downtown Lincoln and off the beaten path. But it's still open and sells out constantly, so that should tell you something! Get here early if you want a good selection, otherwise just get whatever looks good and I bet it will be. Their maple donuts are my favorite in Lincoln, their pecan rolls are always sold out, and their lemon filled are delicious. All the reviews I read were good, and it was recommended by several people here in Lincoln. When I went to pay, I had a bit of a sticker shock...it really HURT my pocket book (pun intended). The dough was heavy, and really didn't have any flavor...thank goodness there was a glaze on it! Maybe I was expecting something better. Our first visit on a recommendation from a coworker. The variety wasn't signifiant, but we arrived late in the morning. Nice table spaces to eat at. Friendly staff. Had cake and glazed donuts and donut pockets (filled long john). The cake donuts were delicious!! Definitely a place we'll visit again. read more
