The biggest selection of clothing is women's, although there is a small children and men's area. The shop is in a lovely former private home which also houses the offices of the Assistance League. There are plenty of housewares and decorative items and I often purchase greeting cards there for 75 cents each. The icing on the cake is that the Assistance League was the first nonprofit, non-sectarian, non partisan organization started in the western United States. The League's origin goes back to the great San Francisco Fire and Earthquake when Anne Banning, a Los Angeles society woman, and some of her friends, assisted victims of the disaster. Years later, in 1919, the first chapter of the league was formed and the work continues today. The money raised by the Assistance League goes right back into the local community and supports the arts for youth, among other things. You can drop your donations off during the hours the shop is open.

Kevork is extremely knowledgeable in vintage, estate, and contemporary jewlery styles. He cares about his customers and wants them to be happy with their purchase. He knows he has quality items and does not need to push a sale. He is patient and considerate. His credentials and experience will far exceed those of other stores. He is a designer in jewelry for high-end jewelry stores, is a board member of gem societies and a certified gemologist. With all that said, you can feel at ease knowing that Kevork is an expert in the jewlery profession. At first Brian, my fiancé, and I shopped for rings together as to get an idea of what I liked. I wanted either an authentic vintage or vintage inspired engagement ring that was unique and detailed. I was throughly impressed with the wide selection of rings at this store when I visited for sizing my ring after my ring was made! With the plethora of information my fiancé gathered, he made the decision to custom design my engagement ring. He based the design off a 1930's vintage inspired ring we saw together but used a modern cut radiant diamond as the centerpiece. After the design was hammered out between my fiancé and Kevork, everything was left into his expert hands. My fiancé had the piece of mind that Kevork would deliver an exceptional end result based on the fact that he knows his trade and is highly experienced. The design process included: sketches, explanations, and update as the ring progressed in hand made production. The duration was no longer than 3 weeks, maybe 2 weeks? I absolutely LOVE my ring. I get compliments on my engagement ring all the time. It is truly special and created with a lot of consideration. I'll will post some photos so you can see for yourself how the ring turned out. : )
