THE BIG: Surprisingly a big gym inside with different open tiering for that modern look. Located off of E6th and Brazos. Paid parking either street or parking garage. THE BLACK AND WHITE: I visited this golds when i wanted to do a golds fit class at 10am on a saturday. The class was great and the gym itself is nice and big. The only downside I have is that it's hard to grab parking outside and there are a bunch of homeless people outside which makes it dangerous to walk. The cool thing about this gym is the tiering with weights at the bottom, classes up top, stretching in the middle, and the locker rooms situated on the back middle floor. Also there's a sauna! THE FINAL BAMBOO: Decent gym with good amenities. However, the added cost of accessing ($15/mo parking) might steer people who don't live downtown from coming here.

Great smaller but efficient gym. When in town and needing to have a good workout...this is the place. Friendly staff, clean facility, everything you could need to stay in shape

I visited this Gold's while in town for work and it was only a5 min drive from my hotel so that was super convenient since there wasn't anything else open at 6am. It was a nice, quiet drive over to the building. Im not sure what the parking lot agreement is - if there's validation or anything - the garage asks you to swipe your credit card to open the gate versus it printing a ticket for you. There's always someone to greet you, the first day my girl friend needed a guest pass so they did it quickly. The gym has a lot of potential, you can tell it needs some equipment updates - but I only say that because my home Gold's has all the new Gym80 equipment. They have a lot squeezed into an interesting design and space. Their women's locker room was clean and stocked up - it was nice to have a sauna again. I can see why people would complain about going to this location anytime in the afternoon but for a morning crowd, it wasn't bad.

If you're planning to do lap swimming after work, for example, it can be very difficult to find a lane because they often schedule classes during that same time. The gym floor also gets very busy in the evenings, although it's generally still manageable. It's nice to have a cafe though, and they have great quesadillas! They also occasionally send out emails about new programs and activities you can sign up for, which is nice, but unfortunately, some of the registration links don't work, and when I've emailed the person sending the updates for more details, I haven't received a response.

There are tons of really nice treadmills, some with a running track that is curved and more rugged like you are running outdoors on a trail. The bikes are great, very updated. I do think the weights machines are outdated and need to be replaced. The TRX area has some classes. They also have several rooms with Pilates reformers, barre classes, as well as yoga, and circuit training. There are fancy stretching machines and massage chairs! Bonus! The sauna and steam room are separate sexes located in the locker rooms for privacy. The showers have good quality hair products and body wash. They even have razors and q-tips as well as cotton wipes. Hair dryers are available too. The pool area is really like a resort it is so nice. Plenty of loungers to relax on and good shade spots. This gym has all the beautiful people haha. Everyone is in like Lulu-lemon and dress to impress. Fun but a little intimidating when you wear old gym closes. They also have pickleball courts and basketball. You can take a pickleball lesson and sign up to play with others when comfortable. Lastly there is a spa and hair salon as well as a food center with high quality ingredients. This place is really really nice. I have never seen a nicer club in my life!

When I could no longer tolerate the big box gyms, the crowds that flock to them and the bad behaviors that have cropped up over time, I finally made the move to this gym. Sure it's smaller, sure it doesn't have daycare, saunas, pools, giant changing rooms but I consider all those things a plus. People who show up here show up to work out not sit at the sauna and pool all day. The price point is higher than most gyms but not unreasonable. You get what you pay for -- mostly in peace and quiet and an overall more courteous gentler crowd. There is a good mix of equipment that can handle a mix of folks who just want fitness, folks who are into bodybuilding and powerlifters. For the most part all three groups exist in peace. Perhaps the general fitness folks may at times be a little intimidated by some of the louder harder workouts of the powerlifters. But this can be mitigated by changing the time you go. I get overstimulated by such noises so I try to avoid those folks if I can. ( I can be a gentle flower lol) Gender balance. This gym has a very healthy gender balance. Luckily this crowd is not there to find suitors, they are there to work out so no fake eyelashes or clown makeup nor guys just dragging their wings along the ground like turkeys in heat. Please respect this dynamic and don't come here to hit on people. Like most gyms the peak time is 5-7 week days except it's mostly Monday to Wednesday that's somewhat busy during rush hour. But nothing like the big box gyms. It's busy but not impossible to get a workout in like other gyms. Folks are not aggressive with each other, they are kind when they approach you for working in etc. I take a long time at some machines people should be upset but there is no upset, only kindness. They are swapping out some of the equipment and its changes for the better -- mind you what's there is already plenty. This is a small gym floor compared to mix chain gyms. The gym in Lincoln village is slightly larger and the new one in round rock will be huge. The hours are great. Parking is plenty however not endless, sometimes you will have to hunt a little. The gym is clean, bathrooms is clean but could be better. I am just being honest. It's just fine. I have been spoiled by Lifetime and EOS. There is a regular crowd that's been there a long time and they sometimes do exert a little bit of ownership and territorial behavior but they are mostly harmless, they could use the challenge of new faces, and they are perfectly able to adapt and accept newcomers. So don't be intimidated. It's all teddy bears in there. The staff also is amazingly friendly and attentive and keep the place sharp and on top shape and help members. I highly recommend you get a week pass and check it out!

Nevertheless, the downtown location is clean, well-staffed, and has all the equipment and classes you could need or want. I've gone at busy, peak hours and still been able to find spots to work out. I like that there are water stations and towels available all throughout the gym, as well as TVs throughout the gym to help you through your workout. When I joined, I was given a complimentary personal training session and an intro session, which was really helpful in learning the layout of the gym and different workout configurations that will work best for my body and fitness goals. I have also had the opportunity to check out a bunch of classes, too, and my favorite by far has been sculpt with Natalie or with Jay. Both are phenomenal instructors, and I swear I have never sweat so much in my life as I do in their sculpt classes! Worth it! The locker rooms are very clean and well-equipped with towels, shampoo/conditioner/lotion, feminine products, hair care technology (blow dryers, flat irons, etc), mouthwash, deodorant, etc. The only thing I will say is that the sauna in the women's locker room is pretty small and only seats 4-5 people. They also keep it at a pretty low heat for a dry sauna (~140-150) for some reason. Nevertheless, it does the job eventually, you just may not have a spot to sit at peak times.
