Someone has been calling me from this gym everyday for a week. When I answer, no one is there. I've had enough of it already.

Dirty, nasty gym. No one ever cleans after their dirty sweat (you'll see sweat stains on weight machines) weights never stacked. People have zero gym etiquette, leaving weights and equipment wherever they please. Let's not forget the fact half the StairMaster machines never tend to work. With everyone wearing headphones, don't understand why they have to blast music loud. Only leaving 2 starts for its cheap monthly membership and location. read more

I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but the management and cleaning crew at this gym are by far the most absurd I've encountered. Personal items have been stolen from the lockers room, the front desk staff is dismissive at best. The Supervisor Jasmine clearly doesn't know the consumer rights, and the cleaning crew often "cleans" the machines with a vacuum while you're trying to use them, putting everyone's safety at risk. When I asked to cancel my membership, the Supervisor Jasmine claimed she didn't know how to do it. But after I filed a complaint, she "planned" a situation with the cleaning crew, then came over while I was working out to tell me my membership had been revoked. To conclude I just noticed my Vince Camuto sunglasses disappeared after I left the gym. Thank God I'm finally out of there! I am surely filing a reporting against this location and this Front Desk Supervisor who knows nothing how to run a business! read more

I'm not someone who writes reviews at all, but my experience at Gold's (now EOS) warrants it. Some of the front desk workers are dismissive. When we walk in, they often look at us and then look away without greeting us. What really prompted me to write this review was getting yelled at to leave the gym when it was time to close. Today, everyone was shouted at: "You have 2 minutes--actually 1 at this point to leave." I get it, people want to go home. But I've never experienced this at any other gym and this isn't the first time this has happened. I would highly recommend making announcements over a intercom, like other gyms do, rather than shouting at paying customers. It's extremely immature and unprofessional. read more

The ghetto music that sounds like it was made by and for deaf people has become unbearable. It's louder than ever and the staff can't turn it down or off. NOT EVEN THE EMPLOYEES LIKE IT! NO ONE LIKES IT! It's as if they're trying to drive people away. I asked the front desk, "Can any of you sing along with a single song?" "No. Tell me about it. We have to put up with it all day." Large facility! The new remodel is incredible with updated equipment, hydromassage, turf area, escape room (for the shy folks) and countless equipment options. I absolutely love the spin class on Saturday morning at 9AM with Eddie Gleason. No matter what your age or fitness level is, he makes working out so much fun and I'm almost sad, but exhausted, when the class is over. He is the absolute best!!! I also love Allison's Body Pump class. She's so motivational and always helps when I'm not sure how to correct my form. Glad to have such great instructors. It makes a huge difference in the workout and the overall experience. read more

I've been a member of Gold Gym for a while now, and I have to say the staff and the upkeep of the in Thousand Oaks has got to be the best out of all of them then not far behind. Only cool thing is the sauna. Sucks when you have a guest they have to check in all the time with I'd and online questions. They remodeled the place to make it look nicer but the machines kind of suck and are old .My husband and I just got it for the sauna I still prefer LA Fitness! I really enjoyed all my three classes today. Prelates is helpful for strengthening my muscles and balancing. Bollyx class is so much fun. I enjoy it a lot also it helps for my cardio workout. Red flag!!! They will raise their membership fees on you without any notice, regardless of what contract you sign. My monthly went up from 19.95 to 24.95 (!!!) a few months back. Today I was charged 28.95!!! Once upon a time it was probably the best gym in this area. Sadly it's now a dump. Lots of broken down machines which stay broken for weeks on end. Extremely crowded, whether you show up at 6am or 6pm. Very little water pressure in the showers and plenty of broken tiles, so watch your feet. I started wearing sandals to shower there. And it really sucks that the jacuzzi, the one last saving grace for this place has now been out of order going on 2 months!!! Actively looking for a better option. You should too. read more

From the warmest of welcome in, to the super friendly goodbye; the experience at Gold's Gym Thousands Oaks certainly sets the bar for excellence (pun intended lol). I usually begin every workout with cardio, and the treadmills were available and in great condition for my 2 mile run. Today was back and bi day; some free weights and row machine, with no waiting for any of the equipment. Went upstairs to finish my training with some abs exercises. And actually caught up with some emails in the lounge area which was clean and organized. Very pleasant. read more

OK where to start I guess I'll just talk about my recent experience and why I'm given a five star review and several employees that are directly responsible due to their awesome personality, genuine friendliness and very high levels of professionalism. The perfect blend if you will. I start with Jacob. He works at the front desk, my first conversation with him was this past Monday, it was regarding memberships and I wasn't by a computer easily look at their website while I asked any questions about the various memberships and what they included. He was very friendly and helpful informative patient several times I asked questions repeatedly because I wasn't retaining the information due to being in my car and I had a very long weekend and wasn't the sharpest I was mentally and physically fatigued He was a consummate professional. He really cares and from the time he said hi I knew I had somebody that was top shelf so we had a very productive collective informative conversation. We talked about various numbers comparisons in the end I was super informed and I knew what I wanted to do . I think him with a lot of gratitude because not everyone would've taken the time and cared the way he did he does or should I say did I'm referring to the past tense I don't know. I'm not an English major. I'm a good guy but lol anyways you get to get my gist. I had to inform someone else and said we would connect on Wednesday and his follow up was right on target and unfortunately, I have not been able to connect with my person to give them information but again Jacob was professional, friendly, helpful, and understanding And then spoke to Jasmine she's a front end manager on Friday because I missed Jacob's hours on Friday and Jasmine super nice really helpful professional genuinely friendly. Both of these employees are total assets to golds, gym culture and its customer base and prospective customers and they're definitely contributing to a great culture . She was helpful and patient and connective. She's just a really nice person and cares about customers and helping and connecting, and I think her as well. Honorable mention also to William the GM at this location I don't speak directly with him. He was consulted on something and had a great creative out of the box of resolution and not everyone would do that so they've got some great leadership and staff members there. Their gym is awesome . Love Gold's Gym! I always have a great workout! Since the new remodel with the added second floor and new equipment, it's been amazing! So many more options to my workout experience! My personal trainer, Myles, is absolutely the best!! He has done so much to help me with a neck issue. He is not only a personal trainer, but his expertise has helped me more than physical therapy. The equipment and workout platforms have been updated and are very good, sometimes machines break and maintenance takes a little while to repair it, that's OK because there is plenty of alternative machines and equipment to use for the same or similar exercises. The facilities are clean and orderly most of the time and the showers and sauna are good to use as well. However... I have been coming to this gym for nearly 10years and to be told that I cannot have a towel from the front desk because I do not have some premium membership etc is very disappointing. I asked what it would cost to upgrade to the type of membership where a sanitary towel is offered and I was told it is nearly double what I am currently paying and have been paying for a decade ... Again I like this gym very much and intend to be a member for the foreseeable future, but the towel policy is a little ridiculous Overall it is an acceptable gym. The staff is neither helpful nor hindering, most of them are pleasant to interact with. read more

I just want to say that this review is based on the current staff at Gold's. Everyone at the front desk is super friendly and welcoming. Although, I love everyone and they all feel like family, I want to give an amazing shout out to Jasmine. I believe she is the front desk manager. She is incredibly professional, friendly, funny and I just always look forward to see her smiley face in the morning!!! This girl never stops! Young Men in Women's Locker Room I actually like this gym, but had a very uncomfortable experience last weekend. I finally decided to take advantage of using the sauna and brought a change of clothes with me. I went into the locker room and saw a young man standing by the door at an open locker, texting. I went a few rows down and put my stuff away. I thought about going to the front desk but didn't want the hassle of dealing with young kids who would likely not do anything.This was not a guy who looked like a woman - he wore men's workout clothes, broad shoulders, guy face. Nothing feminine there. Literally 30 minutes later I went back into the locker room and the guy was still standing in the exact same spot doing the exact same thing, texting. I was about to go to the front desk when a very, very skinny guy in tight jeans and white top walked out of the bathroom/shower area with wet hair. He had short blond hair and wore a face mask. These were clearly guys, they didn't look or dress like women. I was uncomfortable because I was about to change. I was about to go the front desk when they left. I don't care how you want to identify your gender, but if you are a biological male with your genitalia intact, you should not be in a woman's locker room. Period. For any of you who may be inclined to trot out cheap transphobic arguments, until you are in a position of getting naked in front of men, be quiet. I stand for the right of people to be who they want, but their gender identity doesn't trump my right to be comfortable and feel safe in a female only space. Please, Gold's Gym, post a sign, or at least be prepared to do something when you get a complaint. read more

I leave this review with great concern regarding Gold's Gym Thousand Oaks and its practices, as I have been misinformed and mistreated as a customer. When I signed up at Golds Thousand Oaks on the 5th of July, I explained to my sales rep, Rachel, that I would be moving next month and only wanted the membership for one month. In explaining this, I specified I wanted my membership to be cancelled automatically at the end of the month and the sales rep Rachel said it is not an issue, and I could cancel anytime with no additional charges. Mind you, in no sense was "ABC Fitness" mentioned verbally or otherwise in my contract. I came to find out about a week later, when I decided to double check with another representative at your gym that I actually needed to call into ABC Fitness (this was my first time hearing of them). The representative even reassured me they would simply waive any additional charges and fees. Now, after calling ABC Fitness, I come to find out that they were supposed to be notified a month prior to cancelling- yet Rachel never even mentioned ABC Fitness, nor is it in the contract I signed. And on top of the misinformation I've been fed by multiple representatives at Golds gym, ABC Fitness now is informing me that because the cancellation was not handled properly by the Golds team, I will be responsible for paying an additional $30 charge. So I was completely misled about the cancellation process, and misinformed about the cost of cancellation. Upon hearing this news, my unsatisfactory experience compelled me to call into my local Golds management, where I spoke with William. On top of my terrible and dishonest experience, manager William at Thousand Oaks Golds was completely out of line in his attitude and response to my situation- making numerous excuses and effectively dodging any shred of accountability for his team and their deceitful sales practices. So now I have sent an email to the "retention team," because supposedly this team is the only one with authority to assist me in this problem. So far it's been days with no reply. I have had nothing but a negative experience with Golds thus far and will continue to fight this scam by any means necessary. read more
