Because of its popularity, they've even increased the number of days it's offered (Monday to Friday)! Nice equipment and modern gym! I joined EOS fitness at the end of February and I am happy with the gym so far. Located in Janss Mall, this gym is at a very convenient location with ample indoor parking and close to many shops and restaurants. The hours are very reasonable during the week, but closes early at 7pm on weekends. The gym is huge with 2 floors, swimming pool, jacuzzi, and a spa with saunas and steam room. Depending on your membership tiers, you can use the EOS at all locations, the escape room for more privacy and towel services. I love the Technogym equipment as they are very modern and well made. The turf area on the second floor allows for a full metabolic workout with jump boxes, tanks, battle ropes, assault bike, and ski machines. The only thing I dislike are the ban on the ball slams and missing tire flips, which I feel are essentials workout routines. The other area that I like is the swimming pool. While I wish the pool is deeper and has shower next to it, I like that the pool is indoor (no worries for sunburn) and seems well maintained. While the gym does get busy during peak hours, the availability of machines is very reasonable during other times. As for the membership fees, we paid $1,000 for a three year membership for my husband and I, which we felt was an excellent value for the area. read more

EOS Thousand Oaks (and honestly EOS gyms in general) are a complete mess. It feels like a giant "screw you" to the members. They're constantly out of hot water, and half the time the water doesn't work at all. Something is always broken, toilets, sinks, machines, you name it. The steam room basically never works. When this place was Gold's, sure, they had issues, but nothing like this disaster. And it's not just Thousand Oaks. Oxnard is the same. Northridge is the same. Beverly Center is the same. Every EOS location I've been to is falling apart. It's like they took over Gold's and somehow made everything worse. The craziest part is I actually heard a sales rep telling someone that Gold's "ran out of money" and EOS was fixing all their old problems. It's been over a year. Nothing has been fixed. So either he lied, or EOS just doesn't care. I'm paying for a gym that can't keep basic things working. Hot water, bathrooms, machines, the bare minimum. EOS feels like a company that wants to sell memberships but doesn't want to maintain anything. Total disappointment. read more

This was honestly ridiculous. I showed up ready to work out, already took my pre workout, planned my time around coming in, and the gym was just closed. No email, no text, no app notification, nothing. Just locked doors and a bunch of us standing there confused. That's not a small mistake. People plan their day around this. Now I'm stuck all jittery from pre workout with nowhere to go, and my time completely wasted. And to make it worse, the staff that were there had attitude when people asked what was going on. No real answers, just rude responses. EOS talks about being a welcoming and motivating environment... this was the opposite of that. This feels like poor management, plain and simple. If you're charging people every month, the least you can do is communicate and treat members with some respect. Really disappointing. read more

This place is constantly running promos to increase sign ups and don't care how many members they can squeeze into their facilities. Upkeep is horrific, yet they are constantly signing up new members. Such a shame it's no longer Gold's. Bathrooms look like 24 hour fitness'. This place is packed to the gils...almost not enough air to breathe! I do not recommend signing up at any of their locations. I've been going to Golds gym for 14 years starting in Simi then moving to TO. Now it's EOS fitness as they bought out 23 Socal Golds. I think they took on too many gyms at once and can't seem to maintain equipment. So many broken machines and cables just sitting for weeks some over a month. Currently 2 broken cables, 1 broken lat pull down and 1 broken sitting cable back row leaving only 1 functioning row. I haven't even been upstairs so who knows what's broken up there. Besides the fact that people have no gym etiquette and leave stacks of weights on the machines!!! Needs to be highlighted strongly when signing people up for memberships to re-rack!!! I will be looking around at other gyms soon. I do have a membership at Crunch also so might just start back there. EOS gets too crowded some days to have broken machines and especially cables !! read more

I have tried Trainers in the past and they not only didn't listen, but I was hurt by their training. So, years later, EOS staff told me that Alejandro had a BS degree in kinesiology and experience with folks like me; 30 years of neck pain, knee and shoulder and back issues. I agreed to try Alejandro. Now, I am renewing for the 3rd time because I am stronger, huge improvement in pain and joint soreness, because he worked the supporting muscles to help my issues. As a registered Nurse, I recognize his knowledge of the muscles, joints, body and WOW, he uses that expertise with me in each session. This is amazing! I don't ever review but this place flat out sucks. Like many of the other reviews, something there is always broken. Bathrooms are usually always out of service, equipment is broken for weeks from stupid people who don't know how to respect or use it, and the showers may as well be a leaky faucet with the amount of pressure they have. Try to go in the morning before work and water is ice cold or completely off. There's been worms there on the ground in the past and most recently there's been a roach problem. I get that there's gonna be issues with places but when I let one of the workers know about the roaches they just laughed and said they know and didn't know when they were going to call someone to fix it. Only reason I still go here is because it's on my way to work. read more

I was a Gold's Gym member for years before EOS took over, and the transition was a disaster. I was told my membership would simply be transferred. Instead, Carrell created a new account using placeholder contact information without my knowledge, leaving me paying for a membership I couldn't access because even EOS employees couldn't find the account. I asked whether there would be any additional fees, and the employee (Carrell) assured me there wouldn't be. That turned out to be false, as the new membership EOS created resulted in me being charged two annual fees just two months apart. For over three months, I was unable to get the issue resolved. Will was extremely difficult to reach despite repeated attempts to contact him, and most of my communication was with Jasmine, who repeatedly stated that the issue was "in progress" but no resolution was provided. I later learned they were no longer employed by EOS, but I was not informed despite continued follow-up. I also emailed the business owner directly and never received a response. This entire situation was caused by EOS, and after months of chasing people down, no one has taken responsibility. In sum, I do not recommend EOS to anyone. read more

Have you heard the phrase "lipstick on a pig"? Or "you can't polish a turd"? I've been going to this gym since 2008. It was always decent. You get what you pay for. But ironically since the remodel post Covid and now since switching from Golds to "EOS fitness", the quality and experience has tanked. Bathrooms are disgusting. Half the sinks work at any given time with vile grime and sometimes vomit in them. Half the time the toilets are out of order. Half the stair masters work at any given time although luckily vomit free. The workout machines are greasy, and a lot of them are falling apart. And i wanted to refrain but on second thought i also have to echo what some people are saying about the staff. Many are very very nice, but depending on what time you come, sometimes it feels like the high school lunch hour and you're not sitting at the cool kids table. Now in 2008 the gym options in the area were slim. It was Golds, 24 Hour Fitness and Spectrum. Golds fell between the two in quality. But now adays, with countless options in the area and the clear dip in quality... Very sadly for the first time in almost 20 years, I won't be renewing and I recommend others do the same. I worked out at Gold's Gym for four years before it was acquired by EOS. The staff at the front desk are always friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the experience declines from there. The bathrooms are often dirty, the showers have very low water pressure, and the steam room has been out of service three separate times. While the equipment is generally decent, the gym needs more machines to accommodate the large number of members who use the facility. read more

This is clearly the nicest gym in town but it's totally ruined since way too many people go now. Always packed at 7:00 in the morning.

Since becoming EOS, the gym has noticeably declined in upkeep. Bathrooms often have broken sinks, urinals, and hand dryers that go unrepaired for long periods. Equipment issues linger for weeks, water dispensers are frequently broken, and trash cans are often overflowing. Overall maintenance has become inconsistent enough that I'm considering switching gyms. read more

One of the days that I got off work early enough to go to the gym and it was closed. No email, no notification of any sort, the website says nothing about it being closed, people standing there with nothing to do. Someone said there was a leak and that might be why it was closed, but you think some notification would be nice. I don't think it takes much effort to send a mass email to all the members. read more

I rarely write reviews but looking at these I got the feeling people were ganging up on EOS since the transition. Many people don't like change and humans are social animals, but I don't share the negative opinions. I am a long-time Gold's member - very long, from when it first opened across the corridor in another suite. A few years ago Gold's did an amazing remodel - adding a second floor and most or all new equipment. I worried EOS wouldn't be the same, but other than colors and logos I notice NO difference. Most of the equipment is in very good condition, with some occasionally needing repairs (like Gold's). I don't spend much time in the bathroom, but like all facilities there can be occasional plumbing issues (as was the case with Gold's). Most stations, benches, etc, are multiple, and though the gym is busy (good, right?), there are not usually long waits. Maybe there are more posh gyms out there with shiny equipment and concierge restrooms, but I just go to work out and everything works fine for that. My time at EOS is efficient, enjoyable, and I will keep coming back. read more

Went in for my morning workout at 9:30. Gym closed, no explanation by anyone in the lobby. "When will you be open today?" "Don't know, try back tomorrow. Call first." Called three times today, right now it's 9pm, never an answer. Worst part is, I have recieved NO email all day, which means without any notification to members, people have been coming in unnecessarily all day today, wasting their time and energy when they could have made other plans. I workout at 5am every morning usually no issue but this morning they were closed and didn't even send an email out or anything. I wasn't very upset until I just tried to call them because the sign up at 5am said they would be open in a few hours. I called four times at 7pm ,when it says they are open till 11pm, no answer. What could improve? Everything... Hand dryer's down, hot water in the shower room is down for more than a week now, steam room don't work... shouldn't we get a discount with our monthly if we only get half of the amenities? On top of that, the employees are very cold, just like the water in the shower. You don't get smiles when you ask something. One even had a very condescending tone (I don't know her name, she didn't have a name tag) when I asked her something 2 days ago. They are just nice to people who are fully made up and with a nice outfit. It's a gym, not a runway. I could've spent money at Equinox (not comparable, impossible) but with the one year commitment, I can't since I don't know where I will be assigned by July. Also, they don't seem to have a sense of accountability. Every person in-charge for cleaning the place don't speak English so when you have questions as well, they can't answer you. EoS Fitness - Thousand Oaks, CA I am so glad that EOS Fitness opened this gym in Thousand Oaks. For one, I am an EOS member. And two, it is not too far from my brother-in-law's home in Calabasas. I have been to location back in the day when it was a Gold's Gym and I still remember the awesome workouts I had. Now that it's an EOS, I still had a great workout. One thing I noticed right away is the gym vibe. Yes, equipment is very important and we'll get to that. But I cannot deny it that the gym goers here get after it and even more important, people here follow gym etiquette (re-racking weights, cleaning up after themselves, giving you space, etc.). Being an EOS member, I am very familiar with the equipment that they choose to have and have grown to love it. The main floor is all the cardio, free weights, cables, machines, and a turf area. The second level has more turf and machines. Every piece of equipment that I used was working and because I no longer lift crazy weights, I found the number of free weights enough. I did not find a single piece of equipment, bench, or machine that wasn't working. I worked out here twice and both times were before 8:00 AM. The gym was not packed, but I can tell it's a busy gym. read more

I went back today to inspect the mens shower heads and if they've been fixed after 2 TWO years The answer? NO During my tour of the showers I announced "how do your shower heads work " ? They yelled "they suck" Im fortunate that you dropped your monthly to dirt cheap.. So im reluctantly joining again, its a sad situation, something as simple as a shower head, is not a concern for the people that take our money, those buffoons actually think the members are happy? They just take the cheap ass fees and deal with the total lack of detail, the little things the add up, as i get pounded by blistering hot water that blows my skin off, or too weak to rinse my head, i just understand that im paying cheap fees for a alleged gym membership.. and its worth the cheap ass fees read more

I have nothing but bad things to say about this gym. I wish I could say this was an EOS problem but the fact is this gym has been awful even when Golds was the owner. They simply don't care. No working leg extensions? They'll take 3 months to fix it. No music? Took a month to not work out in complete silence. Wanting a relatively clean gym? Weights and trash are everywhere first thing in the morning. Want to use a machine? Sorry, people are using four machines at once or they will be on one machine for 30 minutes plus. More than half of the treadmills either won't turn on or won't incline. The only thing that's worse than the management is the entitled people that come to this gym. They congregate in groups and hog all of the machines. Want to get the leg extensions on Saturday? Good luck, this guy has had his bag on it but hasn't done a single set yet. There is a good part about this gym. I will be moving in six months and never have to come back to this place ever again. Management please fix something. read more

Terrible customer support. They make promises they don't keep, I can't even get a call back. I have been a member of this gym for several years, since it was Golds, now EOS. I have paid my membership in advance for over 3 years. I had a severe injury that left me hospitalized for months and unable to walk. I'm still in recovery and learning to walk again. They would not allow me to freeze my membership, not even for during the time I was in the hospital or a skilled nursing facility. I had an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience with the front desk/sales team at EōS Fitness. The representative, Korel, provided misleading and incomplete information when I signed up. He explicitly told me there would be no enrollment fee ($49), that it would be $1 to join, and that I'd get the first and last month free. I even double-checked before signing, and he confirmed my monthly charge would only be $24.99 starting the next month, with no additional fees. At no point did he disclose the $59 annual fee. Only after receiving the digital agreement did I discover that my next payment would actually be $59 + $24.99. When I tried to clarify this, I was completely ignored. Korel avoided addressing my concerns, and the manager was no help either--constantly making excuses, staying on calls, and making me wait for nearly an hour without resolution. This felt deceptive and manipulative, like a deliberate attempt to trap customers by hiding important fees. Once you sign up, they show little to no concern for customer support. Overall, this was a terrible experience--unprofessional, misleading, and extremely poor customer service. On top of that, the cancellation process is unnecessarily difficult, adding to the frustration. I would strongly advise others to be cautious and thoroughly review everything before signing up. read more

Broken equipment, whomever is running the music has no idea how it works, too loud then it's off for days. 1 of Hand dryers in the men's bathroom didn't work for over a week. Sinks clogged. This place used to be good, but for the last 7 months, it has been getting progressively worse, the worst of which is seeing the customer service manager standing on one of the benches, with a bullhorn yelling "get the f*** out, it's time to leave!" And ever since that point it seems to be something that is taught to new employees, because they are doing it every night now. I am beside myself. It also seems to be a trend that 5 minutes before close, one of the employees will walk into the men's locker room and flash the lights, WHILE PEOPLE ARE IN THE SHOWER!!! The men's sauna smells like a biohazard. This place is quickly falling apart. It's sad. 10/10 would not recommend. A shipping container would be better. read more

This is worse than when Golds gym was running it. Rude staff and a dirty gym. What else can you ask for!? Not sure who to blame, the gym for never cleaning anything and constantly vacuuming. Maybe whip down the machines would be helpful? Everything is typically covered in someone dirty sweat. Machines are always being "fixed" and more than half the stair-master machines are always broke. I don't know if this has anything to do with the transition from Gold's Gym to EŌS, but it appears to be mostly the same staff with a few new faces. What I do know is that I am still paying $44 a month, while EŌS is advertising memberships for $24 a month for the same tier. If I'm paying nearly double what new members are paying, the least I expect is to be treated with basic respect and professionalism. Unfortunately, that has not been the case. Some of the newly hired staff clearly did not receive proper training after the transition. One employee in particular, Taylor, has an extremely condescending attitude and consistently comes across as very rude when speaking to members or even welcoming guests. When we scan our codes at the entrance and staff have to buzz us in, she doesn't even bother to look at the screen or make eye contact. Instead, she continues having personal conversations with other employees as if members standing there don't exist. There have also been multiple instances upstairs in the studio where staff walk in to mop the floors and literally mop over my shoes and belongings as if I am somehow in their way while using the gym I pay for. That level of disregard is unacceptable. Another issue that has happened more than once is staff entering the studio before the gym is even closed. On one occasion, Taylor came in at 10:40-45PM when the gym closes at 11 PM, shut off the lights on myself and others who were still working out, and began YELLING AT US to leave and GET OUT. Most recently, at 10:50 PM, employees were walking through the gym screaming at the top of their lungs "GET OUT NOW, THE GYM IS CLOSED!" That behavior is completely unprofessional and disrespectful. Members should not be yelled at or rushed out of the building before closing time, especially when they are paying customers. I wasn't planning on writing a review, but this last experience was the final straw. I already have a serious issue with paying almost double the membership price that new members are paying, but it's even worse when you're paying that much just to be treated poorly by the staff. Very disappointed. At the very least, I would appreciate someone from management reaching out regarding the pricing difference and these experiences, because right now it's hard to justify paying nearly double the current rate for this level of service. read more

When you put the pieces together, it's clear that Gold's knew they were either in talks or already in the process of being sold or absorbed by EOS. The decline has been noticeable, from basic machine maintenance to floors no longer being re-racked during the day or set up properly for the next morning. I train on weekdays at 5:00 a.m., so cleanliness and readiness matter. On Monday, 1/12/2026, the men's locker room was in unacceptable condition. Towels were left scattered on the floor, the towel bin was completely full, and the steam room had clearly not been cleaned, you could visibly see dirt collecting and running along the bottom seating area. Most of the shower body wash and shampoo dispensers were either empty or diluted with water, suggesting they hadn't been refilled. At least three shower drains have been clogged for an extended period of time. The Escape Room is consistently a mess. Since the management change, I've seen it properly cleaned maybe twice. The same explanation is repeatedly given about the "cleaning crew calling in sick," which at this point sounds more like an excuse than a coincidence. It's becoming difficult to believe there is a reliable overnight cleaning crew at all. For a gym of this caliber and price point, these ongoing issues are disappointing and unacceptable read more

EOS took over the golds gym that existed here for a long time. In the time EOS took the bathrooms have been neglected never any toilet paper it's messy and the weights are never organized anymore. The staff has stayed the same but even they are very vocal about the dislike they have for EOS. It's becoming a planet fitness because of the cheap memberships. It's very very sad to see a great gym turn into another gym that'll close in a few years. I really hope golds makes a comeback. Cancelling my membership today after many years with golds.
