Equipment is maintained pretty well but the bathrooms are the nastiest I've ever seen in any golds... mold all over the sinks, and urinals stained yellow with pee and who knows what else. I love working out at this gym! It has a great atmosphere and the staff are incredible. It's my favorite Gold's Gym.

Need a new manager, Val Herrera is not a good manager at all. He does not care about fixing things. Nor does he care about enforcing gym rules. After i complained last week about a small violation of rules, he actually told me to go find another gym and that there are plenty to choose from. The pictures currently on Yelp look nothing like the interior of this gym. Overall I feel like there is way too many cardio machines. The weight section is so cramped and usually you are waiting for someone to be done. Half the cardio machines are closed for social distancing but all the weights section is open which is weird to me cause people are still in close proximity. They say they are closed from 1-2 for deep cleaning but the doors aren't locked and there are still people working out during that time. They really need an employee cleaning throughout the day because the number of people that don't wipe their equipment down is astonishing and disgusting. Even at $30 a month right now with only $1 down is too much considering there are no fitness classes on the weekend, minimal classes during the week, no kids gym, no pool, no sauna, It's really only worth $20 max. Golds fit area is a private area that you have to pay more for to do private classes, but that should be open because there is just no other space to be able to use that type of equipment. There is a space in the front but that's usually private training and only fits 2 people max cause they are doing lunges or resistance band/kettball training. Really needs space reorganization, more class availability and enforce wiping down equipment. read more

I visit my family in Oklahoma several times a year and this is my go to gym when I'm in town. The gym is pretty clean, has a good amount of equipment, isn't terribly busy(even during peak hours) and staff is really nice. I'm not sure what the membership fees/options are, but a day pass is reasonably priced at $15/day. I highly recommend this gym. read more

Cancelled our membership when covid hit. Still getting charged for my wife's account. Golds is a rip is off UPDATE*** was told several times we would be refunded and they have not refunded and are still charging us. Next step is BBB and contested charges with my bank. Over $400 stolen from my account since we've cancelled.... ***Update: 4 weeks ago the manager spoke to my wife and apologized. She said the payments would stop and a refund would be issued...well wouldn't you know, we just got charged again. Still no refund. We have copies of the cancellation paperwork that golds has. I highly suggest a manager that is capable of handling this step in before we escalate it further. What Golds is doing is illegal. ***Update: 3 weeks ago my wife went in again. The manager apologized profusely that the charges are still happening and that a refund has not been issued. He said it would be handled and that we should see a refund in a week. 3 weeks later, no refund, I have emailed with no reply. In seven days the billing cycle will renew. If Golds charges my card or does not issue the refund by 26 Jan 21, we will be contacting the BBB and the Oklahoma State Attorney Generals Office to file a forma complaint. Tick tock Golds. Ignoring me, stealing my money, lying to my pregnant wife all while I'm deployed is bad PR. Hmmm maybe the news would like to do a story on Corporate Gyms stealing from their customers.... Good facility however most of the amenities are limited. Very crowded esp during peak hours. Sauna, hot tub, and poop are closed due to pandemic. No strict cdc guidelines followed. But they do have a cardio cinema. A lot more congestive and more expensive gym. read more

I joined when the gym first opened and had a family membership. I had called in May to have my membership paused for a few months and was told that would not be a problem. Credit card statement showed up and I saw that I was still getting charged. I called and was told there was nothing they could do to refund the charges. If any employees promises you anything regarding your account, insist that they give you something in writing. Regardless of how long you've been a loyal customer, they won't trust your word about what you say an employee told you. read more

Horrible.!!! They don't respect the customer and treat them like a piece of , you know what ! Today I went there after couple months of a break (keep paying, was my decision about it) , I went at 4 pm with my daughter. Worked for 1 hour, I was already finishing and the "manager" came to me to tell me I had to leave, he told me my daughter had to have a membership because their kids place where close. I told him "ok, I was already finishing..." I understand about the liability and all that , I was not trying to go over the rules. After that he stayed there and asked me "so , what are you going to do? Buy her a membership?" , so I told him that no, because she doesn't work out, but she was not going back the next time... he stayed there and told me "so, leave now"... and I was like "ok , I told you I was already leaving because I just finish my work out after 1 hour" (btw, my daughter was not working out, she was always next to me on her tablet , but I understand the rules!).... After that he continued with "I'm the manager and you are refusing to leave" ... well , my patient went to zero after that big lie!! I started to tell him to don't tell lies about me, that I never said I wasn't leaving ... he just keep talking , doesn't listening to me and the last amazing thing was "how you refused to leave I'm going to call the police" ... The gym itself is awesome, with friendly and helpful staff. With that being said, the problem lies with who go to the gym, and who you have to fight with to use machines/free weights. I'm not a very critical person by any means but I can't help but make simple observations. There's three types of people that go to the gym: 1. The arrogant "bro" dude that sits around a weight bench with the rest of his metro sexual friends with the backwards, half on hats that high five each other after doing 1 rep of weights WAY to heavy to be healthy for their body mass, wearing the weight belts and gold's gym shirts, ya know the ones that look like male g strings they'd wear in a Magic Mike movie . 2. The pretty girls that know they're beautiful and can't just go to the gym......they have to get the tightest most revealing "leggings" a girl can wear with a nothing top on because they're so desperate to be envied to alleviate their insecurities about themselves...THEN give you a look of disgust when you glance at them HA. They like to stand around and play on their phones, take selfies, or sit and talk with a group of girls RIGHT in the middle of the gym floor. My lord..just go home please. 3. The normal "Joe Schmo's" that have goals and are solely concentrated on themselves and working out. They're considerate and are not a burden to be around because they just do their thing. Most normal people and girls fit into this category. **1 & 2 are what makes me regret getting a membership here. And the vibe that everyone is trying to out-do one another constantly. I think I'm good just running outside, and just buying free weights/kettle bells and working out @ home when the membership is up? Ok I'm done hahaha. read more

There is only one word to describe what I'm going through with Gold Gym and that one word is Criminal. I've been a long-time member of golds gym and I would have been a member I'm sure in the future if it wasn't for this incident. It all started when out of the blue I received phone calls from gold gym corporate that I owed $317 dollars. How can this be true, when I moved out of Yukon, I canceled my membership. They said to call the local gym to resolve this. So, I did I called and spoke to the front desk, they couldn't help me, they said they would have a manager call me. Nobody called me. So, I called back after 5 days of waiting. I finally got to a manager named Ryland. I explained that I moved away, and I came in to cancel. He puffed up his chest and said he was brought in because the previous management team "was known for these types of issues". He checked for my cancellation form and could not find it. Par the course at this point. I asked him "what day was the last time I came into the gym" Nov 7th, 2019 funny that's the same day I moved away. Haven't been back since mind you. He went on to say that he 100% believes I am telling the truth and that the previous Management screwed up. His words! So, I asked him knowing what he now knows, and I advised I could bring in any documentation showing I moved to another city, what did he think was the "right thing to do." "He said the right thing to do was for me to pay the bill so it wouldn't ruin my credit." So, to sum it up, I came in the day I moved away from Yukon and haven't been back since and the Golds Gym manager believes me 100% that I canceled that day. But since the last management staff that screwed up things so bad, he came in to replace them, failed to cancel, I must pay the bill, so it doesn't ruin my credit. This is the extent of Gold Gym customer service. This tells me that Golds Gym's only priority is to make money first everything else doesn't matter. Even when Golds Gym is 100% sure they did wrong you will have to pay for their mistakes. Think about that when you deceived to get a Membership at Golds Gym. Think about what they will do in any situation. Think about if you get hurt, whether they will throw you out the back door, or send for an ambulance. Very sad to say but I agree with previous reviews. This people doesn't like to give any respect to there members. I was told my account will be freezed for 90 days but they kept charging me and when I called back Kera told me since there are no notes in my account so they can give me my money back even I gave them time and date when and called. I even told they I have a screenshot as a proof but that's not valid. So they rather loose a manner that has been with them for years then give members a brake for their employees mistakes. read more

1st gym is great. But let me tell you they will screw you over on payments. Throw your paperwork away and do everything to rob you of your money and then say it is your fault. Get copies of any form you fill out and make them input it right there and do not leave until you get an email from them. Trust me they will screw you. read more

People don't typically mind taking turns on a machine doing super-sets during peak hours which really surprised me. People keep the weight rack in order which NEVER happens on the west coast. I was a member of Gold's Gym for several years. When you sign your initial contract for 1-2 years they will tell you that after it expires the contract goes from month to month, implying that you can cancel it at any time after that contract period easily with no penalty. What they won't tell you is that there is a "30 day notice" clause. Meaning that, if you want to cancel, you have to give them 30 days (on a written form filled out in the gym) and an additional month of membership dues even though you don't wish to use the gym anymore. That's scam enough not to use them but the really deceptive business practice comes in their cancelation procedures. Let's use a common scenario: your credit card has expired and you no longer wish to to be a member. Your card isn't being charged anymore and your contract period is over so you assume your membership is over. Wrong. Gold's is STILL accruing monthly charges against you which will eventually be sent to collections. After a few months of this, they will send you emails and robo calls telling you that your card wasn't able to be processed and your membership is at risk. They WILL NOT tell you that you are still being billed with gym and late fees! They also will instruct you to call a corporate 3rd party phone number (not your local gym) to fix this issue. You may, as would be normal, assume that your membership is over and all is fine. But that would be a huge mistake, because Golds is STILL billing you. Once again, your local gym will never notify you, nor will the robo calls or corporate emails EVER tell you that you are accruing gym fees and late fees. If you call the robo call or email numbers back, you may, or may not, get a live person on the phone. You can leave a message but no one will ever call you back. You can go online and use their online service to "cancel" but it won't work. And you'll still be billed late fees. If you attempt to fight this they will send it all to collections and write you off and ruin your credit. Gold's corporate could easily have the local gym call you to resolve this entire thing but they won't because this makes them a TON of free money. You will, however, eventually be forced to resolve this in person in the gym by writing them a big check. Keep it mind this is all in the contract you signed a few years ago, though likely it was never explained by the salesperson. Here's the solution: DO NOT EVER JOIN GOLD'S GYM!! It's at best, terribly poor management and deceptive business practices. Join a gym that operates with honesty and transparency and values your faithful membership by allowing you to cancel after your term quickly, easily and with no penalty. read more

I have been a member for 10 months and when I went in yesterday, I was told that I had "cancelled" my membership. I explained to them that I had NOT cancelled and that I had a membership through my husband's work. Then they told me that my husband's employer had cancelled it. I called the HR department who said no, they were still taking out membership fees. So, I go back to the gym and instead of saying, "How can we help you straighten this out?" The place is brand new and really nice. The staff is the best! But the staff at all of the golds is great. I wish they had scrapped the pool idea to give the rest of the gym more room but I get it. My only complaint is the Cardio Cinema plays the same movies all the time... Need more selection of dhows and more with action. Hard to run to some movies. But overall a great place to workout. I would never, ever, ever recommend this place to someone. The gym itself is nice, good equipment, clean etc. But the billing is awful! My daughter and I joined together on one account. I purposefully signed up and paid extra to not be on a contract. I decided to cancel after six months. I was told that I would be billed for an extra month. I was also told that when I signed up, I paid for the last month so I will be able to come to the gym for two more months. Not what I was hoping would happen, but fine, just cancel my membership. I told my daughter to call and cancel hers, just to be sure, even though we were on one account, that came out of my checking account. When my daughter called to cancel her membership, she was told she signed a contract and we had to pay it out! I wouldn't be so angry if I hadn't specifically said when I signed up "I don't want a contract. I will pay extra." And was assured I wasn't on one. read more

Gold's is my gym. It is very clean and the staff is friendly. The equipment is generally well maintained with exception of the media equipment on the cardio machines. Many of the receivers did not work and the Stairmaster receivers were removed and never replaced months ago. I have called a few Gold's Gym locations trying to get a quote on what a membership would cost me for a couple. It is like talking to a used car salesman trying to get that question answered. Their prices are all over the ballpark depending on who you talk to. This tells me that they are trying to get as much money as they can.
