Wtf Back to DMV 6 more times, Stalantis once, and working on new approach I have been running automotive repair shops for 30 years and I'm a NY licensed automotive Inspector This dealership is real funny about shit, dont trust them at all! Brought my ram company truck in for service trusting that a ram dealership would take good and proper care of the vehicle. Rear suspension and ac needed charging nothing too extreme. A week for the suspension part to come in. Ac was not fix and was charged for it. Went in for a second diagnosis they tried to charge me for a part that was not needed and a week out as well. When all it needed was a proper ac charge. Get better mechanics. read more

Goldstein has done nothing but run me around. back in the summer of 2025 i had ordered a part with them under my warranty. they kept telling me it was back ordered and I would just need to wait. I called every few weeks tor updates and was given the same story of a back order. a few months ago in February of 2026 after calling for an update I was informed the part/manufacture number had changed and they had to put in for a new different order under the correct number. last week, end of April 2026 I called again to see if any updates and I was informed yet again that my part continues to sit on back order and was encouraged to reach out to stellanti, the manufacturer, to attempt to rectify and expedite this. I just spoke with my case worker at stellantis who has now informed me that Goldstein is telling them they don't even have any parts out for order for my car. I have been without this part for almost a year now and after my conversation with stellantis, I am starting to believe Goldstein is either not doing what they should be on their end or giving me incorrect information, or maybe both, as I'm not sure why I'm being told a part is back ordered but then telling the manufacturers they don't even have an order under my information. have I been calling and waiting around for almost a year for literally nothing? mind you all of this occurred after only having this car for a year from Goldstein. read more

Ya know, typical car dealership. Sales and staff was nice and knowledgeable. Had no major hiccups and made the buying process a bit smoother than average. The nice part is if a vehicle you're interested in is at another Goldstein location they'll take you there to see it and test drive. That for me was great customer service. I reschedule things and drive 25 minutes to Latham. when I get there, Rachael is too busy to see me and I wait until word comes out that the car has been sold already. I wish I had better things to say. I purchased my car 3/4 years ago from this business. I've made several appointments for different issues on my car and every single appointment ends in me playing phone tag with the employees, never able to get a firm and clear answer on what is happening. I've waited weeks for my car to be ready for repairs just to find out my parts were never ordered. Or that the part came in, but nobody thought to put my car on the schedule to actually be finished. If I had a family member looking for a car, I'd tell them to stay far away from here. Also think it's interesting that the business never replies to actual complaints, only ones they can back up. Where to start, they cant take responsibility for there awful employees especially that horrible service manager. They blame everything on the customer and when they are really wrong they will call you with a team of people and record you then deny over the phone of any wrong doing. Mt Jeep rear end was damaged in their lot and they denied it even though you could wipe the scratches and scuff residue with your finger. Then on top of that the service manager said because my clutch was soft that i needed a new on and it wouldn't cost much because they had to replace my transmission anyways. !,000+ dollars later for a clutch and a week later my clutch feels the same as it did before so i was scammed there. Also they tried to claim i had to do every form a maintenance at the dealership which i did for years even with their 30% mark up from retail price. Turns out Tires, oil changes, wipers, fluids, brakes and anything else that is considered routine maintenance can be done anywhere. So lies after LIES. I save all my vehicle receipts in my glove box i have since 2016 when i bought the vehicle. I even have the window sticker but yet they tried to find every loophole to not pay for what my warranty stated. Chrysler, Jeep Dodge and Ram should drop Goldstein before they take them down also. read more

Five Stars! Only the second time I gave five stars. I purchased a used car under $15,000. I was treated like I bought a new $70,000 car. Everyone I was involved with, Sales and Lease Consultant, Brandon, Sales Manager Rick and Business Manager Steven were extremely pleasant to deal with and worked with me. I paid for the car on MLK day and although they were short staffed, they installed new tires filled with nitrogen, detailed the car, took care of insurance transfer from my old car, registration, inspection and still managed to deliver the car to my home that afternoon. Went in for inspection and was told I need rear brake rotors at 27k miles. I had them show me the rotors and they maybe had 1mm of wear, well under acceptable tolerance. The mechanic said the rotors couldn't be turned (ground down to eliminate grooves) and only the pads replaced because of uneven wear which I don't believe is right. Never going back to Goldstein. Im in the market for a new car and they lost a sale. I hope the brake job profit was worth losing a sale And future patronage. I had them do the brakes so I didn't have to worry about leaving work again but I'm taking the rotors to measure for myself to be sure but it's pretty easy to eyeball the wear. I've had 7 new Jeeps and this is the first time I've ever dealt with dishonest maintenance. I'll never go back to Goldstein. For anything. read more

I stood there for almost five minutes before I was even acknowledged and then he finally In a half assed way asked if I needed help. After he reluctantly performed a diagnostic test in my car, he suggested my car was a hybrid-which it isn't. So then he went to re-run the test and checked the code he got. Instead of consulting with the technicians abt the code he goes yeah your transmission is failing, I looked it up on the internet and sorry we can't fix it for two weeks!! The service department is terrible. Went multiple times and never fixed my truck right. They had my truck a total of 2months out of 2 years. I asked them to buy it back rather then lemon law it and they wouldn't even give me a value told me to go to Carmax which I did and they were great. Goldstein's then made me jump through hoops to cancel my extended warranty and service plan only to drive back a 2nd time to be told I will receive no early cancel refund even though I only used 3 out of 8 services and 1 of 2 alignments. I asked when I purchased it if I would be able to cancel for a refund and was told yes I can. read more

I am extremely happy with my car from Goldstein. It hasn't had a problem yet. I bring it in for a check every so often and nothing wrong yet. I will go back to Goldstein's every time. But... I do have one complaint. Don't bother offering a free wash when all you're doing is basically throwing a bucket of water on my vehicle. I go there regularly for the free car wash and every time (not sometimes) the wash is useless. I still have crap on my car and all's it looks like is someone threw water on the car. Goldstein keep selling cars that are reliable like mine but if you're going to offer a car wash. Maybe it should be a good wash or just take it out of the offer. So, I arrived in New York to pick up a Jeep my kid bought sight-unseen from a friend of a friend. No surprise to anyone, it didn't start, and I needed to have it towed to the nearest dealership. Based on the Yelp reviews, I was pretty terrified to go here, but I had little choice being from out of state. I left the keys in the overnight box with a note saying that it probably needed a new battery, a new serpentine belt, maybe an alternator, and five new tires. I'd never normally pay "dealership prices" for tires or batteries, but I was in a jam. They confirmed the battery was dead-dead and replaced it. The price was what I expected from a dealership, but it wasn't out of line. They replaced the serpentine belt--again, I probably could have found it cheaper hunting around, but it was within what I expected. At that point now that it had a new battery, they could check the alternator. I served-up telling me that I needed a new alternator in this ancient Jeep on a silver platter, but when they called, they said it checked out perfectly and there was no need. They then quoted me prices for tires (all five) and a four-wheel alignment. The installed price with alignment was almost identical to the two local tire shops I also got quotes from, so I asked them do those too. Everyone couldn't have been nicer, they saw my car on a Monday without an appointment or even any prior relationship with me, and they even gave it a much needed complimentary wash (after having sat in an open lot for a year). In short, this place could have royally rooked me if they wanted to--heck, I practically begged them to--and they didn't. The work all looks solid. read more

I've read the reviews and the one thing I can say is that my personal experience there was Excellent! I had done homework and decided on a RAM truck, 2019 loaded. I tried a dealer not far away, they weren't close to what I wanted to spend, trying to sell me a more expensive truck with features I didn't really want. My salesman at Goldstein, Brian, listened to what I wanted and searched his inventory and found a truck that had all the features I wanted and nothing more. I test drove it, then presented my trade in vehicle. Again I did my homework thanks to the internet and knew the value my trade in possessed and they gave me top dollar! This was late Saturday afternoon and I wasn't going to commit until I at least slept on it. I called Monday morning and told Brian that I like a tonneau cover thrown in and it's a deal. He presented this to the supervisor and they agreed. Later that morning I went to the dealership and put down my deposit. I told them I didn't want a cheap tonneau cover and they assured me that wouldn't happen. Here I am just over 2 weeks later and the cover arrived. I had a short punch list of issues I had discovered and made the appointment to get the cover installed and the minor problems looked at. Every one of my concerns were dealt with, and resolved! The tonneau cover is absolutely excellent, the truck was almost $60,000 and I'm totally happy with the experience I had. My KUDOS to the Sales Department and Service Departments for a job well done. If you look at some of my other reviews you will notice that I give good reports and bad ones. You have to remember that this is my Opinion and my Experience. I Did my research looking for a specific car , BMW 325i and it led me to Goldstein auto in Latham. Took a look at the car, test drove it right off the bat , and had to have it. The car I found was priced very fairly at first but my salesman Scott was able to negotiate an awesome deal for me. Actually I didn't get a deal I got a STEAL. They lie about what they repaired, attempt to charge you the full price for repairs not done, and when called out say "oh we forgot to tell you the part is on order". The service advisor had a major attitude and told me the repair was completed and he wasn't "going to back and forth on this". Then, when I asked for the service manager was told they were in "mandatory training and couldn't be interrupted". Haha!! I bought a Kia in there with 60k miles. paid cash took it out on the road and the tranny went in less than 200 miles. They took the vehicle back and instead of walking away, i bought a 2012 TC. The car was "certified pre-owned" Maybe idk what that is but within 4 months i needed $700 in brakes that weren't covered under the warranty. After that, I went in for an oil change and the was told the car was leaking oil. Axle bootshaft and covered under warranty. We get the car back and the alignment is off like crazy. Was told they did not have to touch the alignment to do their repair. I had them do the alignment, picked the car up two days later and the alignment is off. I bring it back the "senior tech" Looks at it, they give me a loaner and three days later I pick up the car and the alignment is still off. The real treat here is the senior customer relations person in the service department. I understand its probably a high stress high volume job but this is one of the most condescending people you will ever meet in your life. I listened to the way she talks to people and it's amazing she has this position. She is combative, sarcastic,rude and appears oblivious to customer frustration when they have to take their vehicles back to or three times to fix the same problem...Which seems to be the trend here. I attempted to purchase a work vehicle here. The deal didn't work out, I didn't like the interest rate, simple as that, no harm no foul. About 10 days after I walked away from the deal I get a series of about 2 dozen credit rejection letters. It's like they sent in credit requests to a loan they knew that wasnt going through to intentionally take little chinks out of my credit score. People have jobs to do and eveyone needs to make money. However I was not impressed with the quality of the product nor the service. I had a good Sales person i'm Mr. Oneal but that was it. I'm trading the car in at a different dealer so I never have to go there for anything again. read more

The crew is nice. However, I won't be getting my service done there any longer. I started having Goldstein do my work. Recently, I took my 15 jeep in for an exhaust leak. They wanted to charge sooo much money for the part, a little more than 400 bucks. Not to mention they wanted to nickle and dime me to do simple tasks like replacing cabin and air filter, which I did on my own when I got home. I am annoyed that my exhaust rotted on the inside only 40K miles and it wasnt covered under my warranty. You can imagine parts plus labor was ridiculous! I decided to get a second opinion at Colby Body and Fender when Goldstein gave me an outrageous quote. Colby got me right in, charged me way less, and the owner explained everything to me and didn't treat me like a dumb woman. He also shook my hand at the end! My advice: dont use their service dept Get a second opinion from shops that are just as qualified but care more for the person than they do the profit. read more

Don't buy here, don't lease here, and definitely don't let anyone here anywhere near your car with a wrench. (Keeping in mind that I didn't buy my car here, but I was shoehorned into it when dealer I bought the vehicle from closed.) Every time I take any vehicle there for an oil change, I get handed a list of horrendously expensive repairs that my vehicle needs. These have varied from new sets of transmission lines to new brake calipers (additionally I would like to know what my brake calipers are made of if 2 of them cost $785.00). Usually, when I ask them to give me a detailed write-up of what needs to be done, it never materializes. My personal favorite is when they decide to have one of their "senior technicians" look at it. Without fail, they always end up calling me and telling me that it magically doesn't need the repairs anymore. Never did. Silly mechanic got it wrong. And when you actually DO need repairs, count on paying for them 3 or 4 times before they get anything right. I had a tremendous rattle from my rear end. I took it to the service department. They called me 2 days later, told me it needed a muffler. I said go ahead. They called me 2 more days later, and told me it was done. All fixed, no more noise. Great. I'll pick it up after work. I pick it up, pay for it, and don't make it 100 feet out of the dealership before the rattle is back. I turn it around, drive it right back to the service department. Too bad. So sad. $800 please. After another repair attempt, this one for control arms, they call me up, tell me it's fixed, and I can come pick it up. I ask them if they test drove it. Yup. No noise. It works. Pick it up. I show up again. Pick it up again. Drive the same 100 feet. Turn around in the same driveway, and drive right back to the service department with the same noise. Too bad. So sad. $800 please. After replacing the shocks, and going through this ordeal a third time (too bad, so sad, $600 please) they finally trot out those "senior technicians" again. Having already replaced my shocks, control arms, muffler, catalytic converter, and a few brackets, they finally find: A broken spring. They call me to tell me that replacing the spring will cost $1200, but because I've had SO MUCH trouble, they'll knock $200 off and do it for an even $1000. For some reason, not having lost my mind before now, I finally lost it. About an hour later, the service manager calls me acting like a hero for knocking off the labor entirely. So to recap, I was without a car for 2 1/2 weeks, and was charged $2200 for work I didn't need. That I never needed. And then had the audacity to act like they were doing me a favor by not charging me for the work that I actually needed. So, to repeat my opening statement: Don't buy here, don't lease here, and definitely don't let anyone here anywhere near your car with a wrench. read more

It's been a few years, but I still think "ewwww" whenever I drive by this place. I had a car problem, not engine related, a pretty easy to fix problem. When the Service guy called to give me the price to fix it (and he specifically said "this is what it will cost to fix it"), it seemed quite high. Like, twice what I was expecting. But I bit the bullet. Sometimes you just want to move on. So, I go to pick it up, the hard-faced Service cashier verbally repeated the amount owed about five times, until I managed to get it right on the check. Later, I realized, why didn't she just present me with the bill, so I could write the check from the total? That's how it's usually done. Well, it was obvious when I unfolded the bill. They had tacked on a $49.99 "diagnostic fee" although it was a yer-gramma-would-know-what-the-problem-was kind of problem. Even though he specifically said "this is what it will cost to fix it", not "this is what it will cost to fix it, plus a diagnostic fee". Okay, I considered myself shorn, and wiser, and "well, I won't be going back there, but, whatever". It wasn't worth 50 bucks to me to try and talk to them, because I suspected there'd be no joy doing that, anyway. As I say, sometimes you just want to keep moving. You wipe your feet on the mat, and you keep moving. But then, I get a message from a customer service rep there. "Was everything okay"? So, I was like, well, if they really want to know, I'll tell them. When I called the rep back, he wasn't at his desk, but the person who answered decided it would be best to put me right through to Service. That is where things went from ugly to UGLY. The Service guy, who, needless to say, had been Mr. Sweetness and Jollies up until then, became irate, and mocking, and really just repellently nasty. I mean, outstandingly nasty. Worst-Retail-Experience-Ever nasty. My experience there was wretched enough that I didn't even want to write about it in a review. But now that a little time has passed, I finally am, in case it will save someone else a nasty whup upside the head. read more

I would like to start this off by saying I am not a complainer. When I read the other poor reviews I just rolled my eyes. Having history in retail (or dealing with public in general) I figured only the people who have a hard time with this place have take the time to write reviews. Anyway, I bought a 2008 Hyundai Accent though Goldstein. My initial experience was a very pleasant one. Which is the only reason I gave them a second star. The sales man I had was new and not very experienced but that was something I was fine with. He didn't talk down to me or try to bully me into anything. I knew what I wanted, He listened and made it happen, which was refreshing because by the time I made it to Goldstein I had had enough of car salesmen and wasn't very patient. My issue arouse when I went back to have my car serviced which seems to be the problem for most of the reviewers. Firstly I was lied to about where I was able to take my car for service. I was worried about voiding my warranty. Goldstein told me that if I took my car anywhere else for any reason my warranty would be voided. I called the company that my warranty runs though and this is untrue. My wheel bearings and stop lamp switch (the switch that makes the break lights come on when I hit the peddle) were going bad. I did a google search and found out that they have a recall on that switch for my car's model and year. Like I stated earlier I called the company that deals with warrantees. I asked about my wheel bearing being covered. They explained that it should be covered and gave me a dollar amount that they would cover towards the work. (They would just need a licensed mechanic to give them a call and submit the work) I got a call from the service desk, He first told me that they found nothing wrong with any bulbs. I explained that it wasn't the bulb it was the stop lamp switch and that it worked intermittently. He brushed me off and told me if I needed that part it would be a while for that part to come in. He then tried to inform me that I don't have a drive train warranty. (I do) Then he told me that to change my wheel bearing he would also have to change to entire hub assembly. If they changed the hub assembly then they would have to then fix my alinement. And all in all the total cost would be over $600. When I asked how much my warranty was covering he said no of it because I didn't have those warranties. At this point I admit I was pretty frustrated so I handed the phone over to my fiancé who explained that we knew exactly what was covered. The person we were speaking to admitted to my fiancé that they never actually got a hold of the company who deals with the warranty because that company is not open on the weekends. I told him that I didn't want anything on my car touched. When I went in to pick my car up from them it took half an hour because they lost my key. And they wanted to charge me $100 for a diagnostic fee which they quickly waved when my fiancé asked why we weren't informed about that fee. But not before the guy loudly made a snide comment about not wanting to work for free and making a show of writing on my receipt that I refused to pay for it. That receipt also said that a diagnostic fee was only $46 (I'll update with a picture when I find the receipt) So where was the extra $54 coming from? read more
