The owner was able to meet an expedited timeline for a Golf grip, shortening and Tip addition to a shaft on a late Sunday afternoon. Though his rates may be slightly high it all worked out. This is much more reasonable than Roger Dunn, which has at least a 3 to 4 day delay on non-grip repairs. Perhaps the owner should differentiate himself from Roger Dunn to create more traffic. read more

Can't say enough great things about Golf Town and Jake. I have been here countless times hoping to buy new equipment and/or make adjustments to existing clubs (re-grip/shorten shafts). Jake is extremely knowledgeable about all things golf and equipment. He has even talked me out of buying or adjusting my clubs because he gave me advice on what would be best for my game. That's how you know you can trust him because not everything has to be about making the sale. Also, pricing is extremely fair. They often have sales on new equipment too. We bought $340 xxio wood from this place around Christmas time. The owner accepted CASH only and when asked for receipt the owner guy said he doesn't give out receipts. Questionable at the time but we had no choice. We were excited to try the new club but then tested positive for COVID so the brand new Wood was placed in the corner for few weeks. After feeling better, went to driving range, uncovered wrapping then saw the which was suppose to be a brand new club with damages! So we went back to the shop and told him about the damage. the guy told me to just leave a phone number without any explanation and saying sorry. He even refused a refund because they don't do refunds. What ? I asked whats ur return or refund policy and then he pointed the wall saying policies are everywhere when there are not lol. Then the owner shakes his head, yelled at me and cursed at me and also he told me to sue him if i want. The guy also had audacity to call me stupid for arguing for refund haha what a joke this guy is. I would never return here and would tell all my friends to avoid this place. What a scam. read more

Best non-warehouse style golf shop in town. The owner is awesome. Soft spoken Korean gentleman that never pushes you to buy stuff. He'll help you out, he'll special order stuff for you and he'll be able to help you out with your golf equipment needs. I buy my golf balls, and other irons, woods here. Golf Town is tiny relative to the big golf box stores, but it has a huge selection of clubs. I was after a particular set of last years Mizuno irons and they were in stock at a great price. The strength of the store is definitely in the massive club selection (including a second hand section) and good service from the owner/manager. There's a reasonable selection of shoes, one of every type of bag, but not a lot in terms of golf clothing, push buggies, etc...which is where the box stores and their giant floor space have the advantage. read more

I spent more time in the store questioning why I was getting such a good deal. The driver has worked out great so even if it is fake, it's a quality fake which has worked really well! This is only my second negative yelp review ever - I try not to leave a bad review unless something is egregious. In this case, I feel like I have to be completely honest. Sorry this will be long! I went to Golf Town on Friday, November 20th. I needed my brand new irons gripped and a premium driver shaft trimmed and gripped. I'd purchased a set of purple Pure grips online because no one in LA carries them in store. Pretty straightforward gripping job, and the yelp reviews made me think Golf Town would be a great place to get this done. I walked into the shop and spoke with an older gentleman. I told him what I wanted and handed over my clubs and the set of grips. He said no problem, he could do the work. I gave him my desired specs: logo up, 2 wraps, and 1" trimmed off the butt of the driver shaft. I immediately noticed he didn't write any of what I asked for down anywhere. Not that it was a quadratic formula or anything, but I was worried that we had no record of the specs I had asked for. I politely asked if he wanted me to write it down, and he said "oh, I'll write it down." I watched him write it down (yay), he took my info and said he'd call when they were ready - which should be the following day. That weekend I was moving, so I told him I wasn't in a huge rush, paid, thanked him, and walked out. I moved (terrible), painted (horrible), and unpacked (awful) on Saturday and Sunday, so I didn't even think about my clubs. Monday rolls around and I was like huh, he said they'd be ready in one day. Let me call him - sure enough, they were ready for pick up! No call like he'd said, but whatever, they were done! When I picked them up, all the club grips were logo down. I was very surprised and disappointed, because that was literally the first thing I had asked for. I again, politely, told him the grips were supposed to be logo up, and that I had never played logo down and couldn't really get along with it. He seemed a little flustered and said "Ohhhh...it's actually harder for me to get them on correctly logo down." And I was like, yeah, sorry, but I absolutely hate logo down, that's why I specified logo UP. He tells me he can fix them by using a needle to get some solution into the grips to turn them. I asked him if he could do that without ruining them - and he said he could. I was hopeful this would be the case, as I had to order the grips online and they were like $7 each plus the time to get them. So I said okay, disappointed but also a reasonable human, and left my clubs with him again. I should say, at no point did this man apologize to me or express any regret at the incorrect gripping. I figured he'd have this fix done within a day, considering it was his mistake. Man was I wrong. I called the next day (Tuesday) to see if they were ready and this time he was straight up rude. He told me that if I had just not mentioned "logo up" he would have put them logo up because "that's the standard" - like I was a complete moron. I asked him how specifying logo up could be confusing or unclear, and he had no real answer but continued to tell me next time to just say nothing and they would be logo up. Makes no sense, I know. I mentioned how I watched him write "logo up" on his slip of paper and that I was more comfortable specifying EXACTLY what I wanted rather than hoping everyone has the same idea of standard. He told me the clubs wouldn't be done until Friday (!!!) but again, I wanted them fixed and figured expressing my annoyance with him wouldn't help me or get my clubs done correctly. So I said okay and left. Then on Wednesday he calls my cell phone to tell me that he forgot Thursday is a holiday and the clubs wouldn't be done until Monday. I was really hoping to play golf on the weekend, so I asked him if he could at least try for end of day Friday. He was short/gruff and said he'd "try" but wouldn't make any promises. I hung up, but then I thought - this is ridiculous. I'm not waiting nearly a week to get my grips fixed when it was his screw up. I also didn't appreciate him not being the least bit apologetic or trying to fix his mistake quickly. I called him back and told him I'd just come and pick up my clubs. I drove to his shop and without saying a word to me when I walked in he handed me my clubs and then ignored me. I walked out. Again, what a ridiculous attitude to have when *you* messed up. I know this was long, but this guy is not worth the potential for a screw up. Would you want your expensive clubs at the mercy of someone who doesn't acknowledge a mistake? He doesn't write things down, he's rude when he makes an error, and lectures you about how you should have been less specific with what club work you wanted done. I walked in with the simplest of requests. Don't waste your time here, especially if you care about your clubs. read more
