I wish I got the young gentleman's name because it seemed like he was one of the only ones in the store who 1) knew where things were 2) could perform an assigned task 3) actually help us out. The reason I am saying this is because we went to the cash register upstairs and the cashier was uncertain that the service was downstairs. Not a big deal, she radioed them and confirmed where we could go. Easy. We go downstairs and show that cashier the glove (brand new, just bought for christmas) and that guy did not know how to do the steaming services, which was also fine because he asked another staff member who helped us, HOWEVER, the first guy told us the cost of it (which there is no cost because after a certain price glove it is a free service). The second guy (bless him) corrected him and stated the price of the glove and why it's free. As the worker was breaking in the glove the other guy cashier asked him multiple questions about where things were, if they did certain services, if he could help this other guest. Honestly that cashier guy was doing NOTHING. This is all in the midst of our guy fitting the glove which consists of steaming and banging it with a mallet which could be dangerous! Just seemed like an unprofessional thing to do. Now maybe this guy was new so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt but seriously it seemed like he didn't even bother trying to figure it out on his own before turning the the gentleman helping us. All in all the service was great, he was knowledgeable and answered the questions we had! It seemed like there was a large selection of inventory and some decent sales. After we had a very pleasant time, we left without realizing that I left my purse behind. It was 2 days before I discovered that I didn't have my wallet in my possession. I activated Tile app and it showed that my wallet/purse is at the golf course. I was very happy that golf shop kept it and everything was intact. It was rare these days to find such honest people. I felt extremely lucky. I think that they deserve a mention and I will definitely go back.

When he was around, it seemed like everything was good. Years and years after his son and I think grandson took over, the driving range went to crap. Now fast forward to 2017. The City of LA has taken over the driving range, put in new driving range mats, a tons of new range balls and simplified the range ball machines. It's a good start. The range itself still needs a lot of TLC...but that'll take some work. The old Barber golf shop has also changed ownership. As of 8/2017, the remodeling and reconstruction of the golf shop is in progress. Hopefully it'll be nice. I'm excited for the city to take over. Griffith Park driving range is really close to my house, been coming here for over 25 years or so with my pops, now I bring my son out to hit balls. I'm looking forward to a revamped city owned driving range. Crossing my fingers. Come for Wilson and Harding courses also. And don't forget the beer and chicken wings at the little restaurant.

I was trying to get back into the program, throughout the year, but it got soooo full because it's such a GREAT opportunity and price. My first coach was Morgan. Morgan is great and entertaining. I feel like if you are a beginner, Morgan, is helpful and he will guide you along the way. My current coach is David and he is amazing as well. He is very supportive and meets you at yur level. I love this program and I am super grateful to continue to learn and grow and build a greater love for the sports of golf. It is a mind game and you truly have to be focused and it's not how far you are hitting the ball. Everything is with intention. And they provide you with golf clubs for every age and gender.

By my second game wearing them the soles started to fall off. It wasn't drastic and I wrote it off not thinking it would get much worse. In my fourth game in the second half I heard a pop. The entire sole had dislodged. And the shoe, which was once narrow fitting, had lost its shape. After this I did my research and found that they were made in 2016. And that hypervenoms had been discontinued in 2018. I went back to the store and the manager told me there was nothing he could do and to take it up with nike. I questioned that he was selling 9 year old discontinued shoes. And he gave the same response. Before you purchase from here, look up the shoes and check when they were made, or just DONT BUY FROM HERE.

The putting greens are pretty good compared to Rancho. Also Kitty at the checkin shack is super cool too. What also ups my rating, is parking is easy and it's great to grab food after playing at the restaurant on premises. . What needs work are the trees. It very narrow for several holes and there's a lot of leaves on the ground, making it hard to spot your ball even on good shot on the fairways. My main gripe is they should do better at picking up the leaves. No ball washers or distance markers. Overall I'd play it again as it's sort of near by and it's not too crowded.
