Her depth of knowledge on many different medical related areas is astounding. Equally important to me is the fact that she has a great way of dealing with her patients. She is always willing to take the time to first listen to me and even consider what I feel is the proper diagnosis. However, where she excels is she doesn't just say, no you are wrong I'm going to prescribe this instead of what you want. What she does is she listens to what I have to say and almost every time she patiently explains that while she can see why I think what I think, but in her years of training what the symptoms actually indicate is something different than what seemed obvious to me. In the end every single time she has been dead on in her diagnosis of my ailment. If you're looking for a doctor who is the perfect package of what a doctor should be then look no further than this fine physician because as a doctor she is the total package. I'm praying that she continues to practice medicine until I die someday because I know I will not be able to find another doctor to fill her mighty big shoes.

Instead of listening to my concerns or communicating respectfully, I felt like I was treated as an inconvenience from the beginning. Even more concerning, important information was not accurately communicated to my healthcare providers. When I attempted to clarify the facts and correct the misinformation, I was met with hostility rather than a willingness to resolve the issue. Instead of addressing my concerns or taking responsibility for the communication breakdown, I was dismissed from the practice. Being removed as a patient simply for trying to ensure my medical information was accurate is deeply disappointing and raises serious concerns about how patient concerns are handled. Every patient deserves to be treated with respect, to have accurate information communicated to their provider, and to be able to advocate for themselves without fear of retaliation. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

My mother used to go here so I thought that this was a safe bet to take our family. I found out…read morewrong. Several years ago I was told by these people that I had "leaky gut." I believed them and bought the powered stuff they were selling. I found out later from a real medical doctor that I had a gene that causes advanced arthritis at an early age. My wife then went for allergy testing and she was told the same thing. This would not have been so bad if I was actually able to set up one appointment to take care of two different things. The first thing was for my wife to be told the results of her allergy test, and the second thing? To hand in a cup of her saliva for testing purposes. When I attempted to set both of these up on the same day, I was told that I needed to set up two separate appointments for this. Now we don't live close to this office and two appointments for 10 minutes each I was not about to set up. They say that is their "policy." Well at 70 dollars a pop for a visit to this place I say that it is not my "policy" to pay greedy money grubbing offices extra money when two separate issues can be very clearly taken care of at one time with one payment for the one visit. There was no excuse for this since the same personnel were not involved in both processes. Lab techs do the testing, and the (if you can call that guy a doctor) doctor explains the alergy results. Needless to say we won't ever go back nor will we recommend this office to anyone looking to take care of medical issues.

When I have crazy questions, he will answer me sincerely. I wouldn't call him particularly jovial, but I'm not looking for a comedian in a physician. Dr. Gustafson isn't necessarily quick to prescribe medicine - he considers lots of options and my input, as well. When I went through a very hard time, he took extra care to listen to me and showed real interest. I trust him with my family's health and I would recommend him to anyone seeking a physician in the area.
