Pedro came the same day for the estimate, on time and provided a fair assessment and price for painting. I also needed a cabinet door repaired, which he took back to his workshop. Followed up with same day invoice by email. I paid a modest materials deposit (Benjamin Moore paint). The painting staff arrived as scheduled, were courteous and neat. They, moved my furniture and covered everything, prepped the walls well (which had previously been covered with glue, stickers and several layers of paint) , primed and painted two coats and all trim. Owner, Pedro Gomez, came to my home within two hours of my initial email and gave me a very fair estimate on the work to be done in sanding and painting my front door. He also suggested replacing the weather stripping around the door which I had not thought of but it was definitely old and not sealing properly. Mr. Juan Bautista came at the exact specified time the next morning and spent four hours sanding my very old door which had many layers of old, cracking paint. He then replaced the stripping around the doorway after offering me a choice between two products that he brought with him. After that he primed the entire door. Bright and early the next day he arrived and took a look at the work he had previously completed. He did some minor sanding on a few places just to make sure it was perfectly smooth before he began painting. My door is beautiful and it changes the entire look of the house! On both days Juan vacuumed my porch and picked up everything he brought with him leaving it just as he found it. He is superior at his craft and is very professional. Mr. Gomez then dropped by to inspect the job which rarely happens and I told him how pleased I was with Juan's work. Pedro came out to install and replace a front screen. He was a bit late but from reading the other reviews I was aware that could be a possibility and from having family in the GC world I know that sometimes there are unexpected scheduling things that come up, it's best to lead with compassion I feel instead of giving a 1 star review for tardiness. (IMO). The work was fast and came out perfect. His quote was spot on and we will be using Gomez Home Services for future projects. He did have to email me a receipt as he did not have his slips on him but if you are more into the process, I would just request that upfront. read more

Pedro and his team did a great job for me. My exterior railings were rusted and moldy. Pedro and John came, powerwashed the railings. (I was tempted to cancel the painting afyer the powerwash, cos they looked so great. Except for the rust.) After power washing, they then sanded rust areas as best they could. I even had a rusted out piece that Pedro cut out and rewelded a new piece in it's place. I expanded scope to include some interior painting as well. The team was thorough, clean, efficient. Pedro was great to work with. John just worked, and worked, and worked. They took their time and did a thorough job.Very satisfied. Highly recommended. Pricing initially was on the high side, but Pedro and I negotiated price and I think I got a fair deal for great work. Tell Pedro that Bruce recommended him. Ugh I was at the final end of getting my refinance loan approved, when my lender wanted some immediate repairs done AND they wanted it done in 2-weeks!!! I was stressed out, not only to scrape together money to make the repairs just to get my loan approved BUT to find an available and affordable contractor. ‍ I had made several attempts with other contractors that left me on red before I turned to Yelp for help. Thank GAWD for Yelp because I got several responses but only Pedro Gomez's response beat the others out. 1. He responded super fast AND he was available that same day to give me an estimate. 2. His estimate was reasonable considering that prices for material have skyrocketed because of COVID and I needed someone to do the repairs ASAP. The other Yelp respondents were too expensive. Pedro was very responsive to my tight frame and budget. He really worked with me. He had his whole team knock out all the work in one day that I initially told him to do. The work would have been completed but my lender kept adding more stuff to complete so I had to have Pedro come back a second time and thankfully he was available to do so. Pedro gave me peace of mind and he also allowed me to do installments with the work he had done. I did not know I would have to spend my own money to get some of my house fixed just to get the overall home loan. I had to borrow money to get the repairs done from my mom. Eventually everything worked out and I got my home loan approved and paid my mom back. This whole refinance process would have been a total nightmare so I sincerely appreciate Mr. Gomez and his team for working so quickly and helping me in my time of need. Totally Unprofessional. I contacted Gomez earlier today for a potential remodeling of my property in Oakland. I told him about the job. After that, I gave him an option to come to the property over the weekend when I will be there in person. He chose to schedule his visit over this Friday i.e when I wasn't there. I said that's fine however in order to give him the lock code of the property i will need his ID picture. It is a pretty normal process as I don't want any unknown person to visit my property. There is a risk they can damage or steal stuff. On providing him this option he got angry and started swearing at me. I was shocked at this unprofessional behavior. I am glad I saw this behavior before the work started and not later in the process when I would have hired him. read more

Setting up my appointment was easy and it was the cheapest handyman I found for what I needed to fix a broken screen- total came out to $65. He fixed it but it was different than the other screens I had and it fell out within a couple hours. They did a good job removing my old broken vanity cabinet and installing a new one, fencing and caulking. The fence in particular was shoddily done by the previous handymen that high winds blew it apart in some sections. This time it looks more secure with new additional cemented posts. Hopefully this time it will withstand the strong winds. We shall see. This is actually NO star review, just to be clear. My experience was pretty much non-existent. I contacted Gomez Home Services through Yelp and the comparison tool where you are able to input information and reach out to a number of service providers. The same email goes to EVERYONE so when Pedro replied and we were in communication I was very transparent on the job/expectation. We agreed on a date and time, I provided my address and when the date and time arrived, 15 minutes after the set arrival time I had to call because he was late. I was told that he didn't have my address so that is why he wasn't at my house. Me: "Okay, well I'll text it to you but I know I gave it to you through Yelp" - WHICH I DID. That's the lovely thing about documentation, there SHOULD be no confusion. When Pedro finally arrived (45 minutes late) he first asked if he could come back tomorrow because he had another job. Um absolutely not, this is the job that was scheduled. Then he asked how much he quoted me (which again, was documented through our Yelp communication). When I told him he said that was too low and that it would be 200% more than the original quote. I wasn't really sure why when I was very clear on the ask in our Yelp communication. What I understood was that he didn't want to do the job so he increased the price to an unreasonable amount. Thank you but no thank you. I will NEVER use Gomez Home Services / Pedro Gomez again.
