Overall the experience was very good; Elijah and Bryan were super friendly and responsive. Eli was very patient and accommodating as we discussed several different potential change orders, from new windows to painting, to other misc. things that popped up. Bryan Luna was especially a pleasure to work with. His attention to detail and proactivity to solve any little thing I mentioned was definitely the highlight of working with Prime. Their contracted electrician, Hector, was great as well. I also think they did a great job building out a cabinet to fit our freezer next to the matching fridge. Their master carpenter managed to salvage our existing wood to make it match perfectly. Definitely better than what I'd expect from even a carpentry specialty contractor. I will mention that it wasn't without some snags. Prime deals in volume so they're very busy. I think because I had delays in sourcing a freezer I ended up not getting a dedicated project manager for some time. We had timeline issues made worse with holidays. This caused cascading delays which inevitably pushed back my move in date a few weeks. When I finally did get a new project manager, they ghosted me (later on I found out they had a family emergency). Eli had to step in again to help. Another thing is that their pricing is quite opaque. The estimate will break down prices by milestones, but they repeated told me that it's not a valuation of the milestone itself. This made it nigh impossible to understand if I wanted to contract out specific pieces of the project (e.g. flooring). Design was OK. I felt that the designer was very busy. Sometimes very responsive (5min replies), sometimes not responsive at all (no reply). I wish I had a better, more thorough back-and-forth session about the intricacies of the design. But we made do. Ultimately, the designer made a render and helped point us to some vendors, but from there we had to make our own selection alone (cabinets, handles, pendant lights, faucets, etc.). I did appreciate her presence when we picked out countertops, though. All in all, I think this was a 4.5 star job, but I'm rounding to 5 because of Eli and Bryan :)

There have been multiple unresolved issues with the quality of work and follow-through. One example is an LED light that continues to flicker. It has been more than six months, with many calls and text messages, but the issue still has not been fixed. Another example is damage to our garage cabinet, where a hole was created during the work. We are still waiting for this to be repaired as well. Overall, the lack of timely resolution and poor communication after the project has been extremely frustrating.

I know hiring a contractor is scary. There's a lot involved and they'll be in your house for an indeterminate amount of time which makes it really important to hire someone you can trust. Tom came out to provide an estimate for our project. He was the only one of the contractors I called that really investigated the existing condtions and repair based on what he could see and his own knowledge. He spent over an hour at the initial call making sure he didn't miss anything and talked through the potential issues and repair. This was his time spent not knowing whether or not we'd hire him. He was also the only contractor to tell me he would only do the work with a permit. Whether or not you think one is needed, just knowing that he wasn't afraid of the permitting or inspection process was a big plus to me. Always ask about permits during the interview process. He then went to his car, drafted an estimate and came back to talk to me about it. I was really impressed at this point. There wasn't any pressure from him to sign on and he encouraged me to ask questions. The estimate was well defined and a bit higher than another bid, but from what I saw I thought it would be worth it. After we signed on, he gave a rough schedule and starting time and said they stay on the job until it's done. We had a list of items to buy and he helped us out there too. He was in constant communications and always responded, even on weekends. Before the work begins, it is pretty easy to promise things to the client while telling your crew something else. When the work actually started, Jesus was our foreman and true to their word, he stayed on the project until completed. They were extremely respectful of our home, carefully protected things and kept the work area clean. During demolition, they found some unforseen things, but took care of it without issue. There were times when they could've easily walked through our house to talk to us, but instead opted to ring the door bell to respect our space. The construction went smoothly and Tom would visit and communicate frequently. He took care of the inspections as well without issue and some other things without charging us, which I appreciated. At the end of the project, we had some concern about the slope of our deck above the office. Tom and his crew came out and fixed it and didn't even mention the final payment until we were happy. Our remodelled office looks amazing. I'd gladly recommend LB Construction for anyone looking for a contractor and will contact them again in the future.

We also changed our minds about the deck railing towards the end of the build and he very graciously figured out a custom solution that works perfectly. They also built custom stairs to match the deck for the lower level of the house as a last minute addition. His team was extremely professional, conscientious, and went above and beyond with making sure the site was clean and orderly (especially since we have a toddler running around). We noticed a lot of details in which they could have cut corners or done the 'easy' thing, but instead they put in extra effort to make sure it looked as beautiful and finished as possible. I think it's important folks know…read moreabout this experience so see below: ______________________ I had such a bad experience with Mission Home which I know will look bonkers given the 5 star reviews. I was definitely persuaded by these reviews - and now will question every business that has 5 star reviews. Do your homework and don't be fooled. Project took much longer than what it should have because they were disorganized and would forget certain things (the foreman would even admit that the PM should have told me certain things!) that I would have imagined a contractor had down pat in terms of sequencing. They use some subcontractors and you are at the mercy of their schedules. They just are not organized (you will do a lot of the reminding, checking in, following up, and certain things still may not happen). They failed inspections meaning more cost (it is their job to pass these! It says this in any contract!) If it seemed as though I was questioning something, the PM got defensive and sometimes unprofessional, gaslighting me in a very aggressive manner. I saved the communication, in fact. The people I worked with directly were young and it showed in the almost-too-casual style of communication and lack of professionalism. I surrendered towards the end and just wanted the project done and everyone gone. I feel completely foolish that I went with the significantly higher estimate thinking it would offer a smooth, superior experience. The actual people who did the work worked hard though and did nice work - hence the two stars. But at the end of the day, it's actually hard to enjoy the work as I am reminded by the months of bad experiences - up to the very end. You can find more experienced contractors out there for equal quality of workmanship and for a more competitive price. I am using a different contractor now for other work at the property - it's a 180 degree difference - they have a dedicated team for my project, meaning time to completion is more accurate and on time; they have a dedicated person to procure the finishes and fixtures, not myself; they are way more organized and even provided me a timeline of what to expect and communicate with me what time they are showing up and what progress was made that day (!!); they are bringing a truly expert eye with attention to detail that ELEVATES the space and are teaching me to ask things I didn't even know I should KNOW to ask; and most importantly, I feel truly comfortable asking questions without defensiveness and aggressive steamrolling in their answers. I received none of this level of care or expertise with MHR, and I want you to know that you should expect these things!!!

This makes no sense because we just want to get a ballpark to see if it's even make sense to continue. But anyway, on the date of the site visit, the guy come without any tool for measurements and for note taking. The guy just spent like 20 mins walking around the house and said he will get back to us with a quote. But I never hear back from them since. I think the company is very picky on clients and like to see if they have enough money to pay for their service. If they think we cannot afford it, they will just cut all the communications. This is also mentioned by other 1 star reviews.

The roof was crushed, part of the structure separated, and we lost power for nearly a week. It was a stressful situation, and they handled it. They repaired all of the damage and still completed the full project within budget. That alone says a lot about how they run their jobs. Or Haim, the owner, is very communicative and genuinely cares about making sure everything meets expectations. That level of involvement made a difference. The fantastic onsite team was led by Jesus, who treated the project like it was his own home. He was thoughtful, detail-oriented, and clearly took pride in the work. We've done several other home improvement projects in the past and had such a headache with the contractors and sub-contractors not showing up when they said they would, or not paying attention to details, so I know how rare it is to find a contractor you actually like! Plus, their bid came in much lower than the three other contractors who quoted for us. We replaced four bathroom vanities which seemed like a small project, but required more skilled work than we originally imagined - including redoing plumbing and moving electrical to accommodate the new layout of vanity, mirrors, and lighting. The crew was very careful to cover surfaces to prevent damage (and also avoid dust getting on all our things) and to clean up their tools and equipment at the end of each day so we could have our space back. Arturo did really stellar work and clearly pays attention to the small details, like smooth caulking lines and patching each little area of drywall and paint to ensure a completely finished project. Their communication was great, and when we ran into a few hiccups with how to best install wainscoting, Jesus ensured we were happy with the plan before the crew moved forward with it. All in all, we really recommend Gilor and will be using them again for future home projects.

His team is resourceful and they did not generate excessive work to add cost. For our kitchen / laundry facelift, we updated the flooring, backsplash, lighting, and reconfigured our laundry area. George's crew helped to side vent the dryer which the big box store was unable to do. George gave valuable input on our bathroom design to optimize the small space. He had suggestions for an in-wall toilet, a corner sink, window ledge niche, and talked us out of a doorless shower (thank you!). He knows small spaces very well and was able to place the fixtures in their best locations. George would give us a heads up on our requests that were going to cost more than ~1k. He had some subcontractors come in to help with varying degrees of quality and cleanliness. We are glad he managed the plumbing contractor who had to come back 3 times. His paint jobs varied quite a bit in consistency depending on who was painting. The best part of working with George was that we were expecting our first child, and he worked very hard to complete the project before her due date. Shay kept us informed at every step, talked us through options when surprises came up behind the walls or under the floors, and handled permits/inspections so everything stayed on track and to code. The crew was professional, punctual, and tidy and would also work on weekends sometimes. There were some minor bumps along the way but final results look fantastic and function even better. He doesn't do plumbing, but recommended a plumber that he trusted and partnered with over the years. After the pipe was repaired, Ron proceeded to patch up the wall and prep it for painting. His professionalism throughout this multi-day experience was very positive - he shared his thoughts on what happened and why. I appreciated his candor and friendliness. We really enjoyed working with Carlos, and fully intend to work with him again on our future house projects. What we thought would be a quick do it yourself project quickly turned into us being in over our heads. We had several estimates for repairing/demoing drywall, installing hardwood, re-framing windows and doorways. Multiple estimates suggested we change what we initially wanted, but Carlos was extremely flexible. He did everything perfect, and gave us exactly what we asked for. He was also very helpful and accommodating when we weren't sure what we even wanted. He helped us make choices and even brought over samples to the house. We love the finished rooms! His team pressure washed the entire house; prepared and painted the exterior of the house including stucco, siding, patio, front door, side door, and garage doors. His team also fixed four accents wall siding; repaired the sagging fence gate door; cleaned the grout on the bench tiles in our back yard; and installed a ring door bell. All the projects mentioned above were done with great attention to detail and cleaned finishes -- you can really tell he takes pride in his work. The new exterior painting turned out beautifully. Beyond the craftsmanship, Osbaldo was also very friendly and professional. He made us feel completely comfortable having him around our home, which we really appreciated. We would definitely hire him again for future projects around the house.

Long overdue update, but after the tile installation, I asked Juan to install a stove exhaust for…read moreme in 2022. He mentioned that he was no longer working with Kevin at the time, so Juan Carlos was just working alone. He installed the exhaust half over the stove, and half over the kitchen counter. He told me the reason why he did that, was that it was just easier to put the stove exhaust that way. I had to beg him to fix the issue, because I knew if I had to hire another handyman, it would cost a lot more to fix his mistake. He said he would fix the problem. He already punched out much of the drywall where he did the installation, at the top of the wall and at the bottom of the wall. he already made several attempts to vent the exhaust, through trial and error. He kept telling me, not to worry and that he could fix it. There are still remnants of the mistake he made, both inside and outside of the house - he initially installed the exhaust vent 12" away from where it was supposed to be! After he subcontracted some work to an electrician, and completed the installation, and after I paid him, he asked me if I wanted to see the receipts. I think he didn't expect me to say yes, but I said yes. He texted me the receipts. I noticed that he had billed me for him and his sub-contracted electrician's personal purchases. I told Juan that I noticed this, and that he could keep the money, but that I would not be using him again. I notice some recent positive reviews mentioning Juan Carlos and Kevin, but when I hired with Juan Carlos WITHOUT Kevin, it was a mistake. I also recommended them to my mom, and I think it was right before they got into a fight. The work he did at my mom's house, was messy and unprofessional. I'm really surprised he is still on yelp, and I regret giving him a high rating initially. Granted all of this shoddy work may have been because of his feud with Kevin at the time, but if you are a professional company, customers should not be affected by internal feuds.

He didn't mask dry rot and paint over it, he made clear recommendations and explained to me why they would need more time and effort verifying I was ok with the additional effort. In most cases I honestly think he underquoted me. They completely rebuilt our porch banister because of severe dry rot and his concern if our dogs or child would get onto the porch and push past a post. We really appreciated that. Jose was also SUPER patient with us. We started this job without having 100% certainty of the colors we wanted. Jose got us maybe... 8 different paint samples, painted sections and joints of our house so we could get a real sense of what the colors would look like before we chose. I am someone that really cares about details, neatness, transparency and clear communication. Jose went above and beyond. The number of ratings he has on yelp do not do their work justice. Go to some other sites and you will see they have dozens more folks equally happy. There work was so good - I immediately had him help us with a rental property we needed to turn over quickly and he gave me a bid within a day.

He was able to get through the various layers of flooring and determine that it's in pretty bad state and discuss solutions. We went with a total floor rip out and replacement and the floor looks better than ever!
