I have eaten here more than a dozen times. Never had a bad meal !!! I drive 110 miles, round trip, to get to this much better than average eatery. Well worth the trip. Had an outstanding veal Marsala yesterday. Excellent ! And plenty of it. They don't skimp on portions. They have the best house salad in the business. Always cold and crisp and enough quality dressing to satisfy. The manager on duty, Judy, was gracious and friendly. Server was attentive. I complain about many of the food operations I go to. Tried this place years ago and it was bad. The food was just awful. So figured we'd give it another chance...still awful. The service was good, but the good is just bad. It's not just certain things about a dish, it's just bad food. Low quality ingredients, carelessly put together, bland...so bland. I have ate here for 6 plus years and I have always loved it! Well, we moved a little bit further from them, so we don't get it as much as we would like any more. We went from eating it every two weeks to now only may be every six months. When I say, I loved it, I would order double of my desserts and double calzones for the next day. I went in there tonight ordered chicken Parmesan, and a pepperoni and Italian sausage calzone. They ended up giving me two breadsticks for all of my meals. I asked for extra sauce that was not in the bag. When I ask for more breadsticks, she was very very rude and told me that's all I would get for the meals that I have gotten. Okay, this is our last visit! Previously, our orders have been mixed up or just all together incorrect. Each time the waiter or waitress is blamed for the kitchen & management issues. Today after my husband order was up, I was told that my order had been incorrectly prepared. They could fix the original order but I would have to pay a different price. Management sent this sweet waitress to tell me the wrong item was ready & I could reorder for a higher price than was on the menu. The manager would not talk to me personally. This manager is Sorry, Sorry, Sorry! This girl needs to find another restaurant that would appreciate her service. Cave city was a weird-ass place for us. Maybe it's because the COVID-19 pandemic but the place was a ghost town and most attractions were closed, at least when we were there in June 2020. One shining light, for sure, was Gondolier. Amazing pizza and some out of this world desserts. Next time we go back to Cave City, we'll definitely revisit Gondolier. read more

I had went for a nice dinner date with my fiancé and there was a server/manager that kept walking by that smelled like marijuana so terribly bad that it ruined the date. I don't care if people smoke but at least spray some perfume or deodorant on to take care of the smell. The name tag said Brandi and she was dressed as a manager so there was no reason to speak to her since she was "management." I ordered a Calzone with fries and it was absolutely delicious my mom and brother was also there and the wait time was short having our food fast,ready, and delicious. I have never in my life had such a crappy so called Italian meal. I could not make up my mind so I had the sampler, came with spaghetti, lasagna, manicotti ,chicken parm. Chef Boyardee would have been a better meal. The lasagna actually tasted as if it was on the verge of being spoiled. The spaghetti was bland and the manicotti tasted like a Mexican enchiladas only like it had come frozen and warmed up enough now to be cold. The salad was very good the homemade salad dressing was very, very good. The salad and my waiter Jonathan were the only redeeming qualities this hole in the wall have to offer for me. Jonathan did try to make it right but the manager only offered five bucks off a fifteen dollar meal that I had taken two or three bites of each item. The Medallions were just chunks of Pork. Minced garlic was used instead of fresh, never saw additional cloves of roasted garlic. Horrible tasting lasagna! The noodles were mushy and gross. The meat was like the filling you would have in canned ravioli. Service matched the food unfortunately... Mediocre food that's overpriced and not family friendly. The pasta and the pizza were not great though the breadsticks were fabulous. When being seated we sadly overheard them complaining we had three small children and groaning about us being there then come to our table and polity smile at us. We were not impressed and would not recommend this place to anyone especially if they have little ones.
