We stopped here during a long road trip and the people and food both were great! Pretty good pizza.

Well...Sat...they were "soo" busy around 5pm they're phones were "off" so you had to drive there to order. I walked in the front door and about 10 people came in from a "side area" and lined up right in front of me!! Maybe they had all been in the Restaurant section. I don't know but it didnt start out well. A young girl finally took my order. My dog was in the car...as I had to drive there to order.... and when I ordered the girl said 15-30 mins. I said ok. I returned to my car as my little dog was there. I waited 20 mins and went back inside. I asked the other lady if it was ready and I couldn't hear her reply, so I asked again, and omg she SCREAMED at me and said "it's almost done"! I said I'm sorry I couldn't hear you. The restaurant was full and the ovens etc were all on so there was a lot of extra noise. I have a little difficulty hearing so I asked again how long. I was on my phone (trying to kill time) and even my friend could hear her over the phone and said oh my. What happened? I said this lady just screamed at me!. I was soo embarsssed I could have cried. She was so rude and unnecessarily so. How embarrassing. I travel here for work. I'm a professional. My med pizza was $30 and mediocre. The mushrooms were not fresh, but canned or jarred. It was just she was so mean it took me off guard. I'm almost 70 and have a little difficulty hearing but she didn't need to scream at me. I was mortified. Please do not do that to your patrons. It's not nice. You never know who you're taking with!!! I believe the taller lady in back with the sauce was the owner and if she wasn't so busy I would certainly mentioned it to her. I am not from here and it was not a pleasant experience. I won't return and feel that if they had just left their phones on and answered one by one they would have done just as well?!! If you have the time, patience and don't mind being rude to.... go ahead and try it. Me, I won't go back. I'd rather drive thru McDonald's!!! People may not remember what you said but they will ALWAYS remember how you made them feel! I may need hearing aides but she needs to take a course in kindness and respect. Sorry. I mean anywhere. The owner grind his own beef and pork, makes his own sausage. This is some of the best pizza ever. Their dough is perfect and amazing. The flavor is amazing and it was cooked to perfection with a little crisp on the bottom and the selection of toppings just great. Also, the drinks they have a really good! I got the raspberry cider and my boyfriend got the shotgun wedding. Both were really good! We will be back next time we visit!! read more

Pizza so good I came back the next day for more. The crust here is homemade and phenomenal. It has the perfect crunch while still maintaining a nice chewy doughy texture in the middle. What I got: When In Brussels - 5* it is on the greasy side, but that's because my pizza has a butter and garlic sauce and it's just the nature of the sauce. The brussel sprouts were fantastic. BBQ Chicken Pizza - 5* they use Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce so it's already off to a good start. The pizza has the perfect amount of toppings, not too much, and not too sparse. A super nice family run business that also happens to make great food. I had some variation on a supreme, I forget what they called it, and it was delicious. It was the perfect combination of crust, toppings, cheese and sauce. Often it feels like places are heavy on one and light on another, but my was ideal. Visiting from out of town. A local in Bowling Green recommended this place to us. It didn't disappoint! I'm normally a very basic pizza person when trying a new place so I can see how the sauce and cheese are, but the husband likes more than just cheese and pepperoni! The Deluxe was really good. The sauce is just a little sweet, but the perfect amount. The dough was perfect. I normally skip crust because it's too tough, this was soft. We got the Brussels sprout pizza and the Spicy Ham pizza and both were even better than they sounded on the menu! The crust was one of the best we ever had, on the s thinner side but maintained crunch and chew with toppings. Would have eaten here multiple times over the week if we had tried it early. read more

I thought their pizza was good, but not worth the premium cost (~$25) for a 12" pizza with 3 toppings. While their website menu mentions lasagna, I was told they don't serve that anymore. If that's the case, it should be removed from the online menu. read more

After dropping my meatballs on the floor, while I was leaving, I returned back to my hotel as I was just passing through the area. This place was recommended by the by the Hampton Inn clerk. The medium deluxe pizza was delicious. Crust had flavor, which is unusual these days for a pizza in the south. After reading reviews on the meatballs, I had to try those. Sauce is definitely homemade, and the meatballs were delicious as well. Nice size. My wife had cauliflower pizza crust with garlic, butter sauce, and mushrooms, onions and green peppers adored it. She seems to be on a cauliflower crust pizza of late and she gives this high accolades to the previous ones she has encountered. The pizza was great but I'm surprised that they close as early as they do even on the weekends with live music at the bar across the street. And while they can make a pizza up until close, they close for seating at some earlier time and become carryout only. I'd definitely like to come back when the dining room is open for the full experience and re-review based on that. read more

We dined in for pizza and salad. The salad was fresh, crisp lettuce. And the pizza was delicious! The staff were very friendly! The food was served quickly. My only complaint is that they do not offer, or provide, water for customers that are dining in. While we could have each bought individual, plastic bottles of water, that seemed wasteful. It just seems like common practice to offer a pitcher of water and some cups. So that was kind of disappointing. Otherwise, we would return for the food and service! read more

First off, I have some disclaimers. This is five stars for Cave City. They don't have any real competition. In a large metro area it wouldn't rate this high. Also, I don't think this qualifies as New York Style pizza. I'm no expert, but I eat a lot of the stuff and consider myself an informed consumer. Maybe New York inspired? That said, this is a great local place to eat with good food and the staff are really nice and will take good care of you. Plenty of options on the menu, it's hard to choose if you're only going to be able to make one visit. Standard generic pizza place decor, but clean and well kept. Styrofoam plates? Eh. I probably wouldn't want to pay what they'd have to charge in this labor market for real dishes to eat on, so no complaint there. They have a cash discount, so bring some. read more

The Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza is delicious! Perfect amount of sauce, perfect amount of crunch to the crust, and all the perfect toppings. The diversity of the menu is simply astounding! I have hardly ever seen so many different options for pizza toppings, and all of them delicious! I got the hot tottie which had, you guessed it, tater tots on top of it. I liked it a lot! The pizza here is solid and from a big group with toddlers, there wasn't a single person unhappy with their pizza. The staff was very nice and helpful. It would be hard to find better pizza in the area. We recently ordered the Spicy Pig and the Chicken Bacon Ranch pizzas. Their large pizza is pretty big and cut into 12 pieces. The Spicy Pig is a great combo of sweet and spicy. The Chicken Bacon Ranch is their best pizza. Sometimes pizza with ranch sauce is overpowering, but Cave City Pizza manages to have a perfect recipe. You get the ranch flavor, but it doesn't taste like it's covered in ranch dressing. There are large chunks of chicken that tastes fresh. The New York style crust really helps their quality toppings shine through. It also reheats really well. We reheated it in the air fryer the next day and it was still delicious. read more

After fourteen hours on the road today we decided to grab some pizza on our way through Mammoth Cave on our way from Tampa to Indianapolis. We are road weary, and had some not great pizza in Florida last night so we were a little apprehensive. We timed it perfect and they delivered on their promised time! The place was clean so we decided to eat before we jumped back in the car. We were hungry so I didn't even get a picture but that was some of the best pizza we've ever had. It was fresh, hot and generously topped. They had Parmesan and red pepper flakes for mine too. Definitely would recommend Cave City Pizza to others. The staff was real nice too!
