Called Saturday morning, Billy said he was on my side of town and would stop by. Before he entered my home he saw I had a mask on, so he took a mask out of his pocket and put it on. I did not care if he wore a mask or not, but I appreciate the respect that gestures showed. He also had covers on his shoes. He was very informative explaining what my issues where and provided an affordable solution. I already knew my 18 year old system needed to be replaced. He had an iPad with pictures and charts of the entire process and emailed me all the documents I needed. I had another bid for installation of a Carrier 3 part a/c system that was maybe $800 cheaper. But they did not have a 10 year warranty on parts & labor or any of the other guarantees Air Star provides. Billy set me up for installation on Tuesday. Junior and the crew (5 men total) arrived on time at 9am and where finish by 1pm. We had slight miscommunication about which thermostat to install. Jarred returned to my home the next day to install the wi-fi touch screen thermostat I asked for. I love being able to control the a/c from my phone. 5 star experience in every aspect. Billy, Jarred and Junior & crew were all extremely knowledgeable, professional and thorough from setup to clean up along with the lady who answered my call Tuesday evening after my install to address any issues I had. I purchased where they had installed the AC system two years ago. The initial phone call was less than impressive, but knowing that they did the installation and I thought everything had been done properly until now I wanted to get them back out to service it. She never asked for my name during the phone call, but did call the technician to see when he would be in my area and schedule the appointment between one and 3 PM tomorrow. I then immediately received two email confirmations, confirming the appointment and asking me to set up a new account. 20 minutes later I receive a phone call telling me that she is going to have to cancel the appointment because they are no longer taking new clients. I said even though you installed the unit two years ago for the previous owner of the house you will not come out and service it and she said no unfortunately they are not taking new clients. I should have gone with my gut feeling after talking to her on the phone the first time, knowing that she was not quite up to par with her knowledge or her professionalism. I didn't know what they were talking about. They told me they couldn't do it because they didn't want to be responsible for any damage. And I needed to use my washer today. I searched several plumbers and a majority of them were closed on Sundays, one was closed for the holidays per their answering service and one other one said they would get back to me but they never did. I continued my search and called Lance. He texted me back right away and was extremely responsive, was able to accommodate a same day appointment and he fixed not only accessing the washer water drain line but he connected my washer, and also helped me find out what was wrong with my dishwasher (cycle would run but no water) and my sink disposal (builders had somehow let rocks get in there). I can't say enough good things about Malek Service Company, and our technician Fernando Bertran in…read moreparticular. Fernando stopped by today to do the yearly work up on our generator. He was polite and friendly as well as did a great job. Other companies we tried, the technicians were in and out in 15 minutes. That's not acceptable for a generator. Fernando spent about 30 minutes testing everything out and making sure it was good to go for hurricane season. I have 100% confidence that my generator will function perfectly should the need arise. We use Malek exclusively, for the last several years, for the maintenance on our GENERAC. After going 21 days without power after Ike, we invested in a Generator, which needs regular service. Their prices are very competitive and we do end up saving money. They come out, change the oil, make sure all of the bells and whistles are functioning properly. They are always kind, helpful, & professional. Today they told us about a new program theory offering, a program for home warranty for plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. The price was amazing, we're saving $40 a month compared to Sears. While Fernando was here, we mentioned that are dishwasher is malfunctioning. Fernando went to the truck and called the office and had him take pictures of the issue. We just received a call and got an appointment for tomorrow to fix the issue. They would have come today, but the issue isn't so terrible that we need to interrupt someone's dinner, tomorrow is perfectly fine. I highly recommend this service for home repairs. I can't say enough good things about the quality of service and the quality of the people performing the service.

But this last experience was the worst. A routing 2 hour job took 14 hours as the plumbing technician was unskilled. They were late to their appointments with no notifications. Attempts to speak to management or owners to timely correct the issue were not returned. Now I need to find another service provider - any suggestions?
