The hunt for exquisite Boba continues, we've set the bar high. And why is that? When you've tried boba at a place where the line is always at least 20 people long and open for only 8 hours a day, show me a place better than Omomo in Irvine CA. Love it or hate it, tell me the next time you've had a luxurious steak or an almost perfect Cortada , could you settle for less ? Now that I got you riled up, let's go check out Gong Cha. I'm a fan of any boba spot that has stepped up from that processed powdery stuff almost 20 years ago to actual BREWED TEA. It's another form of art and if you get the flavor profiles just right, your tastebuds will let you know immediately. Starting with the name , I researched that Gong Cha "is the act of offering tea to the Emperor in ancient China as a tribute". After reading this , how can you NOT be excited. With over 1600 locations world wide , no wonder they've been successful with their formulations. I have tried their Earl Grey with and without the add-ons (herbal jelly , boba , pudding) and it tastes great. With the add-ons in the 3 Js it opens up the flavor profile . Herbal jelly isn't for everyone; it's a great product with documented health properties but again, just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it should be knocked down. If you're new to the world of boba tea, this is a trial and error. I've tried a good amount of flavors and over-all, they all taste amazing. Anywhere you go, if there's a Gong Cha , there will be satisfaction in every cup. And No , I wasn't paid to say that, it sounded pretty good though.

I ended up getting the caramel milk tea with tapioca, pudding, and oreo crumbs.

Instead they serve pastries and specialty drinks, exactly what I was looking for! I tried baklava, bird nest and Burma pistachio. my favorite was definitely the baklava, the phyllo dough was very crispy and flavorful. They didn't overdo on the honey so the sweetness was just right and I could still taste the pistachios. Bird nest was not bad neither. It was very crunchy and flavorful. Burma pistachio was not bad just not as surprisingly good as the other two. I also ordered 2 drinks: strawberry matcha dnd Yemeni chai. The Yemeni chai tastes different from other chai that i have had at those chain coffee shops. The spices were a lot stronger. Overall it's a cute place with many young diners hanging out at night. Very lively vibe. Got a few parking spots right outside in Soni Center.

The service was also just mediocre. The employee didn't seem happy or friendly at all; instead of a greeting like 'hello' or 'good morning,' the first thing they said to me was a flat 'What can I get you?' They didn't even smile.

Not only do they look luxurious but they taste rich and decanted. Their bread is always fresh even the day after. The quality has been consistently excellent and for that reason, I'll always choose the French workshop for my catering orders. Additionally, the Plainview location has an incredible staff. One coworker by the name of Nick patiently helped me my very large order. He carefully packaged and condescend my items into the least amount of boxes he could and even offered to walk me out to my car. He had excellent customer service and I hope this review gets him the recognition he deserves.

The service was very slow because there were only two associates making drinks for a huge line of customers. They definitely need more people working inside during peak times. Managers, please add extra staff! The poor gentleman making the coffee was struggling, though he did politely apologize for the delay. I reassured him that it wasn't his fault; having worked in coffee shops during the morning rush myself, I could tell they were severely understaffed. I really hope management realizes how much this impacts the business Saturdays and Sundays should always be fully staffed!
