French workshop desserts taste the same to me, as if they all have the same base: the cookies, the tarts, muffins etc... but it's a good place to sit, enjoy a tea with something to munch on. The lemon tart was quiet nice. It was a good balance of tart, sour and sweet. I like the marshmallow fluff that was toasted on top of it. I love their crunchy iced latte--it tastes delicious! However, I placed my order on the app and still had to wait 12 minutes for a single coffee. The service was very slow because there were only two associates making drinks for a huge line of customers. They definitely need more people working inside during peak times. Managers, please add extra staff! The poor gentleman making the coffee was struggling, though he did politely apologize for the delay. I reassured him that it wasn't his fault; having worked in coffee shops during the morning rush myself, I could tell they were severely understaffed. Hmm are they losing their touch?! Because the fruit tart I got was spoiled! You wouldn't notice it till you get ready to eat it and the strawberry moved. There was mold in between the strawberries! I love the option of getting your food heated up or not. My friend told me the sriracha Caesar wrap was amazing. I would say since it is a very busy bakery and only one garbage can accessible, they should empty it frequently. It's so small and with it being small and in front by the entrance it's not a good look. I love that you can purchase boxes of the mini cookies and breads. This place is fantastic. Everything was perfect. I had a pistachio raspberry croissant and the Dubai chocolate date and a London Fog to drink. The croissant was flaky and chewy with the perfect amount of pistachio cream and raspberry preserves. The flavors just lend so well to each other. The date was stuffed pistachio cream and kataifi and topped with dark chocolate. It was a great sweet bite. I would definitely get both again. The London Fog was classic and just right. This place has been on my radar for quite a while, I was in the area so i stopped in. I hate to be that person but I'm going to have to be honest. I had to wait quite a while for someone to ask me if I needed anything. I had already walked up and down the counter and display cases a few times but no one came. My partner in crime had to summon one of the girls who were standing around the registrars talking. I was the only customer so they definitely saw me. I could absolutely and have forgiven lackluster service if the food was very good but it was heartbreakingly not good at all. Everything looked amazing but looks were deceiving. I got a lemon tart that looked like it had meringue but was some kind of gooey marshmallow fluff like substance, the lemon inside was slightly Pledge like but the crust was good. I also got a lemon square which is usually one of my "testers" at a bakery to see if it is good. No, it wasn't. It had no taste at all and whatever was on top seemed like toasted breadcrumbs. It can get a bit crowded at times and the seating is limited so I would recommend getting there early to see if you can get a table. What a delight. I used to frequent TFW in Bayside. I'm so glad one opened up closer to me so I can treat myself whenever. Hehe Between their Nutella bread, Nutella crossaint, madelines, pistachio muffins, macaroons, mini cookies by the bunch, and many more goodies. You'll just have to stop by for a treat yourself. I love how The French Workshop serves your dessert on a silver platter. I feel like royalty walking back to my table! The open commercial kitchen shows they are sending out a professional product. This is the third French Workshop I've been to and this place is solid. We're out for the evening with my inlaws and they wanted to have coffee and dessert after dinner. Looking over our dessert choices are very pleasing. I understand the restaurant has to appeal to everyone with items like "The Oreo Bomb", its nice to know they also make sophisticated desserts like the Chocolate Noir I had the other night. The Chocolate Noir had a nice chocolate balance, not too sweet with cocoa powder topping but just enough to satisfy any sweet tooth craving. My wife does this new thing, we usually split a dessert to save on calories, now she has a "one bite" move. I wanted to order something with more crunch but the Chocolate Noir was a nice compromise. The baked goods at any French Workshop are great as well as the various sandwich offerings. These items might not be available later in evening. Do not go to this location. It was fantastic for the first two years. The store has no adult management and is run by teenagers. The trash is overflowing, the unique customer experience is gone and the quality of the food is poor. After eating the creme brulee cheesecake, I found a layer of black specks. I do not know what it is but I believe it is pepper since my tongue was tingling after. The cashiers no longer follow an assembly line, which gave the customer a personalized experience, where your order was run up automatically when you got to the cashier. The cashier asked me what I ordered. And after taking payment, moved onto the next customer with the same question. I waited a few minutes for someone to come along and put my sandwich in a bag. I then had to remind them I had desserts as well. When I got home, I grabbed the box to take it out of the bag and it opened up, causing the dessert to slide off the paper. I realized the person handling the dessert did not place a sticker on the bottom of the box, which would have kept the lid from opening. I finally made it to The French Workshop. The shop is beautiful with plenty of options. At first glance you literally want to order everything! The staff were kind and very helpful. I went on a Thursday afternoon so even though there were customers dining, it wasn't overcrowded. I ordered a honey turkey sandwich (containing Swiss cheese, honey mustard, lettuce, tomato on a cheese focaccia bread), spinach soufflé, and pistachio cream. The sandwich was sooo good!!!! The spinach soufflé was delicious. The puff pastry was buttery and flaky, and the soufflé was savory and seasoned just right. The pistachio cream was the one disappointing purchase I made. The pistachio cream itself was good, but the pastry was not. I was expecting flaky, light, and buttery like the croissant pastry but it was dense and salty. Definitely wouldn't order again, but two out of three isn't bad. Looking forward to my next visit when I can try some more of their delicious treats. I have another critique. Being that this is called the "French Workshop " I expected them to know the correct name for French pastries. However, they labeled pain au chocolat as a chocolate croissant when there is clearly a difference. I hope they fix this error. If you're in the area, definitely worth a visit. read more

French Workshop offers a ton of goodies ranging from cookies to cakes to sandwiches to iced drinks. I had the honey turkey sandwich (SO good!) with an iced chai latte with almond milk. While the sandwich is fairly priced, the substitute milk is $1.30 extra which okay fine but come on, that's a bit steep for almond milk. Everything was delicious, though, so I'll definitely be back. Definitely the biggest bakery I've been to, making it so hard to decide what I want to try because everything looked amazing. What I liked about this place is that you can order drinks on a self serve kiosk, skipping having to wait in line if that's all you want. I decided on mini pistachio w/ white chocolate chip cookies, a fruit cake, and tiramisu. Everything I bought had a bigger version for sale, which I think is really beneficial. What I love most about TFW is the selection! You can go for anything from a slice of cake or cookies to a sandwich. They have plenty of full size pre-packaged cakes & loaves, perfect for a host gift. They also tend to have adorable seasonal offerings ranging from baking accessories to small prizes. My reason for 4 stars is that I have found the quality inconsistent. Sometimes items are fresh & other times, not so much! They also discontinued their Pistachio Creme Brulee which should be punishable by law. Parking lot is large and there is a Trader Joe's, so you can expect to curse or cry in your car depending on the time of day/season. read more
