I was lucky to find Gooch's Transmissions when my 4WD Cherokee had a drivetrain issue that left me stranded. Marco answered the phone himself, and agreed to look at the car without delay when other shops and dealerships were booked for weeks. Marco's grandfather started the business in 1965 and it's nice to find a locally owned family business. Marco kept me updated and got the repair done faster than expected without pressure to perform additional unnecessary work. The price was fair and much more competitive than dealerships. The shop itself was clean and organized and employees uniformed and professional. I would recommend Gooch's to friends and family and wish I could use them for all of my vehicle repairs. read more

My truck's transmission started to slip about a year ago. I brought it in to a general mechanic that I don't normally use. After having my truck for 4 days, they said they didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. Nothing? Really? I know very little about engines, but I know the vehicle is supposed to respond when you press on the accelerator. Fast forward a year later, and the slipping is becoming more noticeable. I decided to take it to a transmission specialist. I wanted to find a local garage. Gooch's turned out to be a wonderful find. I brought my truck in first thing on Monday morning and by noon, Marco had identified the problem. He said the transmission does need to be rebuilt or replaced. He provided me a quote and also told me that there is a possibly for an additional repair, but he had no way of knowing until he got the transmission out. He gave me an estimate for the additional work, just in case. I called my normal mechanic (not the one mentioned above), described the problem, and she suggested that I go to Gooch's because Marco is excellent and well-priced. She told me that putting in a new transmission (which would really be a factory rebuild anyway) would cost twice as much and with the age of the truck, it would not make sense (or cents). I gave Marco at Gooch's the go-ahead, and he said he would be finished by Friday and that he would keep me informed about the possible additional work. Not only did he finish a day early, but he also said the additional work was not necessary. Minor victory! Gooch's is an excellent, family-owned Aurora business that has been around for decades. Marco said his grandfather started the shop, and they specialize in only doing transmissions. I highly recommend them. I hope I never need to have another transmission rebuilt ($$$), but if I do, I will definitely return to Gooch's. read more

Our Dodge Caravan developed a very slight noise which seemed to be associated with the transmission. We took it to Gooch's for a diagnostic. They checked out the transmission and informed us that while the noise was present, it wouldn't be worthwhile doing extensive work on the transmission because even a total rebuild might not eliminate the noise. It was wonderful to do business with an organization that has the integrity to tell customers that not having work performed is actually the best option. read more

I don't think I can say enough positive things about this place. I primarily dealt with Marco who I assume is the owner and he was so nice and he is so helpful. I had my car towed there and within an hour he had called me back with letting me know that they were going to work on my car and that I would have it back within 2 weeks. I didn't know a lot of about a transmissions and he answered every question and I never felt like he was just trying to hurry up and push me through he genuinely cared that I understood the answer for my question. I had called several other places and the price was cheaper than four other places and the other ones never even bothered to call back. I highly suggest this place it was one of the few that I actually felt that I wasn't going to be ripped off because I was an old woman. read more

My son and I brought our 1968 Chevelle with a transmission issue. The clutch was not working and we thought this was a new clutch replacement issue. Marco and Butch we're both great and it turned out the clutch only needed adjustment. Any other shop would have taken full advantage and would have replaced the clutch but since this shop is very honest it turned out to be an easy fix and not an expensive one read more

Was recommend for a transmission rebuild and I was presently surprised by the customer service and care of my car while serviced. A little hesitant of mechanics trying to pull a fast-one on women but the manager Marco walked me through the process and took the time to really help me understand the process and discovered other concerns that needed addressing such as tires and brakes! TLDR: My car is a pain in the ass, but Marco is a stand-up guy who stands behinds his work and does an excellent job addressing issues that might pop-up with manual transmissions. I first stopped by Marco to do an oil transmission oil change cause my Honda Accord was shifting difficultly. Marco was OK with me bringing in genuine Honda manual transmission oil because he used a slightly different weight of oil. The issue persisted, so I got a few quotes to switch out the clutch and Marco's quote was competitive overall but I also felt comfortable working with him. So, I pulled the trigger, and got the clutch swapped out for a new one. While changing the clutch, Marco said that the master and slave cylinders didn't need to be changed, so I did not bother to change them out. However, a few weeks into it, changing the gears became a little bit difficult and ultimately the clutch pedal sank to the floor...Marco stood behind his work and switched out the master and slave cylinder and charged me for the parts only. I drove off happy, but my car is troublesome. So, I returned within a few weeks, and this time Marco caught that the clutch bracket was completely broken. Again, he stood behind his work and changed the clutch pedal bracket. Fast forward again, the pedal was acting up, and Marco addressed the clutch pedal play again - standing behind his work. None of this was Marco's fault, but his work ethic as others have noted here is second-to-none and he will stand behind his work! Thank you, Marco! read more

I'm retired and always shop for the 'right' business when the price warrants the effort, and transmission repairs are in my top ten for sure. That's why finding a stand out business in today's buyer beware world demands a five star review. These guys are pros. No BBB complaints, numerous great reviews, one of Aurora's 'Recommended' Transmission shops, family owned and operated and great pricing. After getting a great quote from Marco Gooch for a leak and basic transmission service, my service visit was just the same, great. No surprises, prices as promised, no up sell, and no leak. As a bonus, the sometimes 'slip' when changing gears is gone. While waiting I met Myron, Marco's grandfather and owner/namesake of the business. This is someone who has been in this business for 30 some years and judging from the professional organization I saw in his shop, someone who takes pride in the work done. This is a family owned and operated small business, my personal favorite when you can find em. The service attitude was genuine, they like doing what they do and it shows. BONUS... they really...really know what they're doing!! These two gentlemen deserve your business for all things 'transmissions'. Fair prices, honest service and good people, you just can't beat that. Call around and compare, I did, and they were the clear winners. If you're watching the budget and need reliable service give these guys a call. Drop off is best since the waiting area is small. read more

Actually No Stars. Took in twice to fix the oil leak that never had till Gooch's worked on the transmission. Took in Five! times in the warranty period to never have the transmission fixed for what I brought in in for -Slipping out of gear- Never Repaired. Breaking CO law....never had a work order issued to me, Never! Lost small claims court case because of no work orders issued. Again-- Against State Law. Lot of Bravado, No Deliverance. Overload of Verbal Swagger about history and BBB listed. NOT! BBB listed and without a question incompetent. read more

Was recommended to Gooch's from my mechanics at Smoky Hill Automotive. Took about 1 1/2 weeks to get transmission rebuilt, mostly because I think they are so busy. Transmission now runs great, and cost a lot less than I thought it would cost. read more

After my general mechanic's transmission guy quoted me $200 just to open the hood, hesitation that he could do a transmission job on a 24-year old car, and a hefty enough general quote, I asked my home's general contractor for a suggestion. (He used to buy/sell car parts as a hobby, has rebuilt a vintage Corvette and is very no nonsense about fixing cars). Voila! I landed with Marco at Gooch's. Without hesitation Marco said he could do it and for less money than I had been quoted, so with my contractor's recommendation and the comparative facts, I decided to go ahead with Marco. My "mature" Infiniti G20 seemed worth putting money into but she was not easy to fix. She needed engine mounts as the ones I had were broken (he found them miraculously somewhere on the internet). Marco put in a new transmission and replaced the rack and pinion (which it needed) since the guts of the car were apart. Then I left a happy camper. But, almost one year later as the axles/seals were leaking, for some unidentifiable reason, Marco replaced them "under warranty" with a different manufacturer's axle, no questions asked, only apologies that the original axle set had not done the trick. What an amazing attitude, work ethic and sense of fairness Marco possesses! I am sorry he doesn't do more mechanical work because it is just possible my car may need help in the future. I could not recommend Gooch's more highly!! read more
