Kyle helped me with a control arm issue for my sister's 2007 Nissan Versa. The inspection was thorough with images, video and quotes which I found very useful to make decisions. It was a challenging repair namely due to the rust underneath but the shop was able to quickly replace what needed to be fixed and even changed out the headlight and the oil upon request to make sure the car was safe to drive and ready to go in a matter of days. The staff upon pickup even let me know about some sounds but they were imperceptible to us. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone! read more

I have taken my Nissan Maxima to Hotchkiss a number of times over the last five-plus years and have always been beyond pleased with their customer service, mechanical acumen, overall communications, and kindness as well. In each case, they were put in a position to figure out what another auto repair service had messed up, and how to fix it. And in every case, they got to the bottom of it and finally put the issues of concern to rest where the original offending party could or did not. I also love the fact that they take the time to LOOK at everything, drive the car, and then put together a list of things that should be taken care of now, later, or over time. Nissan just goes by the number of miles and never personally checks anything even though that is implied, which, if you're not paying attention, can really lead the customer astray with repairs that are not even required. I trust Hotchkiss with my car and appreciate their honest feedback. Their pricing is market rate and fair. You tell them the problems they diagnose them and give you the cost of repair. You decide what to fix and they do it for the price quoted in a timely manner. Isn't that nice for a change. 3rd time using them with a 3rd different vehicle. All 3 were older and basically rescues, all 3 still running with no issues except one was totaled from being hit by someone else but it still runs. I can only say that I made an appointment a few days ago telling whoever was on the phone that I was going to wait for the alignment and oil change. When I showed up a few minutes after they opened (8am)I was told the car would be ready sometime in the afternoon. Huh, I says. Great, honest shop! Glad to have found a new go-to mechanic! Took my '06 CRV here for the first time last week to get my brake rotors and pads replaced as well as some headlights. Really impressed by the communication and service. Marseilles was particularly great to work with!! I appreciated him sharing information with me about how to better replace my headlights myself in case I wanted to save some money and not get it done at their shop (for context, I had diy'd it previously but he gave me tips on how to replace my headlights and have them last longer - wear nitrile gloves!). Grateful he also told me I had a lot of life left on my front brakes so I only needed to replace the rear brakes. I appreciated the thorough diagnostic inspection which came with clear pictures and price breakdown. Unfortunately the day after picking up my car from hotchkiss, my catalytic converter was stolen. I called Marseilles to ask when the soonest was that I could take it back in and even though their availability wasn't as early as I would have liked, it legitimately felt like he cared. He even followed up with me the next day by text to make sure I was taken care of. To replace the cat, I ended up taking it into another shop just because they had earlier availability. I recently had my car air conditioner repaired at Hotchkiss. They did a fabulous job even though it took several visits and diagnostics they were able to find the needed part finally and have it running in superior shape. I have an older car so it was a bit of a challenge. Lenny and Kyle really took care of me and because it took a few visits Lenny did not charge me for the completion work!! I was so appreciative. This is my second negative review, but I took down the first one because the front office read it and called to find out how they could do better. I gave them another chance, that repair was $876 (no charge for diagnosis, but still in addition to the first repair) that I ONLY authorized because I was assured that I didn't need expensive front-end work, just an alignment and new tires. After buying new tires, the alignment place couldn't align them because the car needed $1,800 of front end work (and proved it by showing several inches of play in the front wheels with steering locked). Hotchkiss mechanics either didn't check this obvious problem or the front office lied to me. Draw your own conclusion. read more
