Okay, I still like this place, but I've had to stop coming here regularly, and thought I should update my review to reflect this. There were two problems: 1. Sound carries in here. There only needs to be one or two conversations taking place, and it becomes difficult to concentrate on reading, studying, or work. 2. They only play two CDs here (I mean this quite literally): Tom Jones' Greatest Hits, and Johnny Cash's Greatest Hits. Especially considering problem #1 above, this gets old in a hurry. It's been a while since I've been to a Good Earth Cafe. Not sure why? The coffee is always good, service quick and the staff at this location quiet friendly. They have some great baked goods and a cute little patio for those sunny days. Lots of parking since it's in Crowfoot and never as busy as some other coffee shops in the area. It's been a while since I've been to a Good Earth Cafe. I remember them as being good quality and not pretentious like some other coffee places. That I always like. I'm not a coffee snob so Good Earth is more my style. Today I met up with some old friends to have a coffee and visit. The place was really busy this morning. I happened to come right when the line up was almost to the door. But it wasn't too long and I had my coffee in hand. I like their coffee blends much better than some others. I had their medium roast and it was tasty and smooth. They have a good variety of munchies and they looked quite good. Since there are lots of locations in Calgary, I think I'll have to check some of them out soon. read more

This location of Good Earth is quite nice! They have a great patio for the summertime! The inside is warm, with quite a few tables, but not cluttered. There are a good selection of lattes, coffees, frappes and sodas. The prices are pretty comparable to other cafes. I paid a bit over $3 for my medium cappuccino. They serve panini sandwiches, which are expensive at $6/7. I had a the turkey swiss, for $7 it wasn't anything amazing. They also serve simple breakfast, like fruit salad. Also other lunch options, like soup or mac and cheese. They have a variety of baked goods. All the food prices are a bit steep, like $3.50 for a cinnamon bun or $4 for a piece of cake and not a big one! The service is friendly. The cafe is involved in the community. They have free wi-fi. They are committed to environment sustainability. There are a lot of good things about this company of cafes! This cafe is a nice change from the everyday. With a nice latte or cappuccino in hand, it is a great place to keep warm! Just expect to pay top dollar if you choose to eat anything. read more

I took some time to really think about this one. Personally, I am a big fan of really good coffee and a fan of Good Earth. However my experience last night made me rethink the coffee experience here. On my way home from work I needed to do some errands so thought - why not stop in and have a coffee to get my head around what I needed to get done. I have been here before so it just made sense since it was on the way. Upon arriving I was greeted warmly like usual and asked for a med latte with whole milk, my go-to drink of choice. I was surprised to receive what looked like a cappuccino at the bar, even though it was called a latte. I'm ok with a cappuccino and didn't want to be a bother so I accepted it and went to sit down. On my first sip, the coffee was lukewarm, and the cappuccino was bitter and watery. Not the best coffee experience, certainly not for the price. I haven't given up on Good Earth and will return, with the goal of getting what I asked for. read more

Last night I met up with a friend over at this location of Good Earth. I didn't even know it existed and I gotta tell you, I was VERY impressed. It's got all your favourite Good Earth bevvies, but what's even more is that the staff is extremely friendly. Plus they've got a fire place and tonnes of tables! It's quite a bit bigger than a lot of the Good Earths I've seen and it seems like I'm not the only one who has discovered this Good Earth in all its glory because when I went, it was packed! But not grossly over-packed, but more like 'community packed'. Everyone from the area just came on by, brought a friend, and was enjoying an evening coffee. It was nice! Plus let's not overlook the location. It's ideal! With restaurants right beside it and a movie theatre around the corner, it's actually the perfect date spot! The good thing about his coffee shop is it's consistency. This location is consistently busy, consistently clean or dirty depending if people leave a mess for others to clean up. I find this location the perfect spot for having meetings or meeting with friends and family as the atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable. Just remember, come to this location with some patience and understanding that all the seats and table may be full. Staff are friendly and are well trained to keep up with brand quality. My one irritation is finding the garage...which is located at the back and not at the front entrance. The snacks and treats taste good and i have not been disappointed with anything yet. We like goodearth however this location is truly lacking. Today was my fourth attempt to purchase light ground coffee to take home. Good grief. None available (again). It just feels like constant incompetence. They could measure some but have no idea what "ground for a French press means" I give up. Any better recommendations out there? The Aspen location is so fantastic it's just too far away. What a shame. Previously my husband received about 1/4 bag of weirdly ground beans last time. So a quarter bag of beans but paid full price. I was greeted by a nice gentleman. But the lady who made my coffee was despicable. She came out of the back with a stuffed mouth with crumbs falling out. She picked up a pitcher with some old milk in it, added some more while milk and steamed it. While she was busy heating the milk up to an un-asked-for extra hot temperature, she burnt the espresso shots. When she was pouring the milk into the cup she spilt a lot of it on the sides of the cup, and handed it to me without cleaning it. In the end I had to wait 20 minutes for the coffee to cool down. When it was finally at a drinkable temperature, I discovered how bad the burnt shot tasted. The coffee was simply undrinkable. Never going back to this location again. read more

The great thing about this location is that it's not too big or too small. I frequented this cafe at lunchtime and in the late afternoon when I used to live in the area. Despite the fact that a number of patrons visit this location at lunchtime, it's never too busy and I could always find a place to sit. The staff are very friendly and always serve the customers in a timely manner. If you are lucky enough to be served by the store manager, your day will be brightened by his infectious smile. Feel free to bring your laptop to this location as there is free Wi-Fi and available outlets. One of the outlets is located by the drink cooler. While the other is in the window seating section on the other side of the glass when you enter through the main door. Although this area is nice and secluded, allowing for minimal foot traffic while you work, it can be a bit tricky to get in and out given that the space between the tables is fairly narrow. I figure the morning or later in the day are your best times to get at those coveted outlet spots. read more

Good On Ya - Good Earth was one of the first places in the city to serve wholesome, healthy, organic, homemade food, set in a rustic, no nonsense, community cafe. Well before it was in vogue and prior to the arrival of Whole Foods. The staff are unassuming and efficient. Their Mac & Cheese and Vegetable Lasagna, Scrumptious! Cookies too, like the ones Grandma used to bake. And because of the ingredients and how the food is made, it's almost guilt free! read more

I have gone to this location a few times since Starbucks changed their tea brand. The tea lattes are very good, although my last experience was terrible as I asked for sugar free vanilla and I watched her use regular. What if I was a diabetic??? A - List. If you like hot drinks and tasty treats, this is the place for you. The decor is friendly with fireplace. The service is prompt and efficient. I believe they also have free wi-fi (something Starbucks across the road does not). This is a comfortable place to meet up with friends. When you get tired of Starbucks, come on over to Good Earth. For nearly 5 years I've tried this spot over and over, hoping that it would improve! It does not reflect Good Earth atmosphere whatsoever. The coffees are poorly made. Every. Single. Time. Their is no passion or artistry which I have come to expect from Good Earth. Unfortunately there is little other choice in this area. Brutal. Paid almost nine bucks for a small tuna sandiwich. It was actually two soggy pieces of bread and some wilted lettuce. Asked twice for the gentlemen to toast it again and he kept saying that it was soggy because it was hot? Will never visit again and will encourage my friends not to either. read more

As a preface I have been coming to this location for years and have been impressed with the quality of drinks and service. However, my most recent visit makes me question whether I will return to this location in the future. There was only one person working when I was there in the evening (which was weird because it was quite busy) so the service was a bit slow but I was not in a rush and didn't mind waiting. When I did get to the front of the line to order I asked for a chai tea and the employee helping me asked whether it was cold or hot and I said hot (in that moment I thought maybe they had a new iced tea as I am not that familiar with their menu and dont branch out of chai tea or an americano usually). I then paid and waited by the bar but saw her start steaming milk, since I was the last person in line I figured she was making my drink and I asked what she was making and she said a chai latte, I stated that I had just wanted the chai tea, at this point she became frustrated with me and belligerently accused me that I had said latte (I didnt as I don't drink milk) and then said "Well which tea do you want we have 15", this became really awkward for me, so I looked at the tea menu so I could tell her the exact name of the only chai tea on the menu (bombay chai). I realize this becomes a he said/she said situation but it should have been handled in a different way as she escalated what was a misunderstanding into a really negative experience for me to the point where I had been overcharged for the tea (I should have caught on when I was paying too) but did not bother asking to refund the difference (nor did she offer to at any point) because I just wanted to leave. This is the only time I have had poor service here and maybe she was just having a bad day and decided to take it out on me but in a world where there is a lot of choice I am going to choose the very close by Starbucks where people are always friendly. read more
