I love that cold items are kept cold with icepacks just wish I could give them back on the next delivery. Apparently they can't take them back because of Covid-19. Prices are very high plus there are additional fees so we use this service only occasionally. The prepared foods are good, very similar to Whole Foods but the expiration windows are very short. I bought Green Goddess dressing and the expiration was next day. Didn't get to use it so threw it out. Love the Roli Roti items. My delivery lady is very nice. What's the deal with all the gluten-free taking up inventory space...only 1% of the population is actually gluten intolerant yet gluten-free is thought of as more healthy for everyone...so not true. read more

I love this service. They take foods that are the best of the Bay Area and deliver it to your home. Delivery is free if you spend $60. Prices are similar to Whole Foods but selection is bigger sometimes and they have items can't get anywhere else. They always deliver on time. Customer service is great. I order from an app which is easy since it keeps track of what I've ordered in the past. Also searchable by diet like gluten free, paleo, vegetarian, vegan. They stand behind their products so if something arrived and it wasn't it good condition, it was either refunded or a discount for future orders. Good product, good idea, poor execution. My boyfriend ordered a meal kit and various groceries. The delivery was late, they texted an updated ETA yet no one showed up at that time. When our box finally arrived the salmon was still cold but everything else, especially the baked goods, were completely soggy from the ice packs. Even the delivery box was soggy. Produce was decent quality but wilted from sitting in the summer heat of someone's car. If you live in SF or Oakland maybe the food will arrive fresh and in a timely manner but we would not recommend Good Eggs if you live south of SF. Good Eggs should rename their business Great Eggs. I don't live in SF but came across their site while searching for a food delivery gift for a close friend in SF to whom I wanted to send a little love and appreciation. They don't offer a gift basket service per se, but since they have TONS of beautiful foodie items available, it wasn't hard to choose a nice little care package (honey salted walnut pie plus cheese and cracker selection - two different suppliers, but both available from Good Eggs.) My friend and his BF loved the gift. But best of all is the customer service. I called ahead of placing the order because I was worried about sending a perishable food item as a surprise - would the courier handle the pie too roughly, or leave the cheese in the sun? The woman on the phone told me that they don't use third party delivery services - every order is delivered by the person who packed it, and that they would take care of everything properly. Well, they did - my friend made a specific unprompted remark to me about how cheerful and friendly the girl who delivered it was, and that she even refused the tip he offered her. Thanks, Good Eggs! We ordered from Good Eggs a few times now, mainly because they deliver bread from Tartine Bakery. Our first order was on time and all items were in the box, Tartine Country bread was super fresh. On our last 2 orders items were missing. They have us credit, but this is just poor order fulfillment. Not sure if we order again. read more

They hire maniacs to deliver their food. Almost ran off the road by van #915 at 2:00 this afternoon on 280. After almost shaving off my front bumper after cutting me off for no reason, they continued down the freeway doing over 80mph. They were barely able to drive a straight line. I greatly appreciated being welcomed as a member of a community (rather than a customer :) My experience has been just fantastic and Good Eggs has my loyalty. Previously, I shopped with Instacart and Good Eggs is way above and beyond better. First off, ordering and delivery were both seamless and very convenient without any additional mini charges for this and that. The produce delivered was fresh, beautiful and tasty. I enjoyed knowing which farms the food was coming from and I also enjoyed having a really fun selection of prepackaged foods to choose from. I really enjoy the recipies and overall community feel of the service - so innovative! This is definitely a fresh take on food delivery. I love their home delivery service! They have great products on their website to choose from and my purchases are packed well, with cold packs when needed. I always get a text as a reminder, and then the delivery person sends a text to let me know it was just delivered (when I'm not home). I also attended one of their events - a cooking class. Delicious appetizers and wine were offered to all and the cooking demo was wonderful, and then we got to try our hands at it ourselves. Such a yummy and fun night! AND... I was most impressed by the fact that there was NO SALES PITCH... at all, which I was totally expecting. Pretty smart to let it all speak for itself, which it did, and that made me love them even more. I can't say enough good things about Good Eggs and I highly recommend their service. read more

We have been using the service since Covid prevents us from going into grocery stores. We literally did not go into any store for over 3 months at a time so finding this wonderful way to get produce that is fresher than Whole Foods or the produce markets I frequented was a huge help. My orders are always over the $80.00 required for $2.99 delivery, and are mostly dairy and produce but there is so much more here. Acme bread, fresh pastries, locally made cakes, meats and groceries, with more things being added every week. The flowers are beautiful even! Yes, there is a small jobs fee, but tips are not expected and the delivery is on time with cold packs ensuring everything arrives fresh. You can return the boxes and cold packages for them to reuse at your next delivery. Customer service is excellent, just contact them with any issues and they make it right promptly. I feel like it is my own personal CSA service, bringing me the farm fresh produce I chose with nothing I don't want. Give it a try. Everything is really top quality. read more

I'm Broken hearted as I loved Good Eggs and have used them consistently on a weekly basis for the past few years. But now they charge over $10-15 in fees for an order! I just can't stomach the new increased fees that they have installed since the coronavirus. I think they are taking advantage of the virus, and that is just not right. I have mixed feelings about this business. pros: the food quality is excellent most of the time. they carry local, organic produce they deliver cons: usually missing an item out of every 3 deliveries sometimes deliver way outside the window time Missing the item is a big deal for me. They are always very apologetic and give me a store credit but I get nervous now - is this the time that something will be missing? What will it be? Usually it's something I NEED - like a protein for a dish I'm cooking for company, or a baked good that I'm taking to a work or school function the following morning. I'm typing now because that's exactly what happened tonight. The missing item is a royal pain and they apologized and credited my account but now instead of getting out of the house at 6:45am tomorrow, I have to drag the kids and myself out even earlier so we can hit the grocery store to get the missing item before school/work begins. When I place an order, I wish they'd account for what items I requested and if it's not available, let me know ahead of time. I usually place an order two days ahead. That way, I can say, okay, no fish? Got it. I'll head to the store on the way home from work. And I wish they would check and double check the items they toss in the box. I'd use them more often but their unreliability is what prevents me from doing so, hence 3 stars. read more

Good Eggs isn't perfect, but any time I've had a problem they have responded quickly and provided excellent customer service (through website submission form). Our family was so grateful for their service during the early shelter-in-place, and now with at-home learning and meetings it's been super helpful to get the occasional early morning delivery. Really helpful service for when you live in a neighborhood with mediocre, overpriced grocery stores, or if you just want to skip the grocery store altogether. No, they don't always have exactly what you want but if someone's delivering my groceries I can grab the other two or three things I need on the way home from work. I was first lured into this when I saw on sf.eater that Goodeggs is starting to deliver Tartine breads. Always craving their bread and yet never able to make it to that side of the town---hmm, this is like a dream coming true. Even if I don't order anything else, paying $1.99 for someone to bring it to my home is reason enough to give it a try. And then slowly I get hooked. The Tartine breads, the tamales from Primavera (Saturday Ferry Building Farmers' Market is simply too crowded to be pleasurable now; and buying them at Andronico's is actually more expensive.) Then trying goodies from places I have never heard of. Like The Authentic Bagels. Yum. Emmy's Blood Orange marmalade. The Pasta Shop's fresh tortellinis and raviolis. Some are more expensive than doing your own shopping, like a lot of the fruit and veggies. But some are actually cheaper, like Creme Fraiche for $4.5. That's a super good deal! The avocados and rosemary will wake up your senses in disbelief...because they are THAT fresh. The other day I'm driving west on Octavia following a Good Eggs delivery van when in the middle of the block the driver slams on the breaks. When I start to go around he opens his door into the side of my car. He waves to me and says, "No damage!" and grabs his package and heads into the apartment he double parked in front of. There are cars behind me so I take his word and move on. When I get home, I see that the passenger door and mirror are dinged. I try to get in touch with the company but no one will talk to me and my emails go unanswered! It's been several weeks and still no response. I love Good Eggs! I have been regularly ordering meal kits and other groceries for delivery. Their meal kits are great--entrees are easy to prepare and taste great. Portions are perfect for my family of 3. I also love that you can also get other groceries and gourmet items like Tartine Bread, Wise & Sons babka and bagels, etc. Prices are quite reasonable and home delivery is very convenient. There have been a few blips--e.g., orders delivered a little late (nothing major) or I received someone else's groceries (I have never had any of mine missing). I gave them the benefit of the doubt when they had to reschedule their delivery to the day after we scheduled our delivery. However, now they were late again for the second time. They said they would show up at 9:25-9:35pm (original delivery window was 6pm-8pm). At this point we had to go out to dinner. Overall, the operation is smooth and I get high quality groceries delivered 99% of the time, the 1% of the time it is not right they immediately refund without asking too many questions (just make sure you send a picture of the item in question in your email). Prices on CPG are competitive with Whole Foods and Safeway, however, produce can be 150%+ compared to the brick-and-mortar. For example: a box of Organic Peppermint Tea and a quart of Strauss Whole Milk is $5.49 and $3.29, respectively, compared to $5.99 and $3.29, respectively, at Safeway. read more

These people have the absolute worst customer service I have ever encountered. I had a great first order, and as a result wanted to help support the business. I referred 20+ close friends, and 6 real, legitimate, living, breathing individuals ordered from their site, generating $25 referral credits for each person I referred. One day, $50 of my referral credits just disappeared into thin air, and when I emailed them and asked why, including proof of the people I referred, they had the nerve to tell me that they took some credits away because some people were users already, and that it was only for new users. I know for a fact NONE of my friends knew Good Eggs existed prior to me telling them about it, especially considering almost all of the individuals who redeemed my gift and ordered from the site had only moved to SF in the past one maybe two years. I asked them which of the individuals they thought were "already users" and they just ignored my follow up email. That is absurd. I've never been punished for helping a business in my life. Companies in the past that have seen the referrals and increased traffic I've brought to them have always shown appreciation. I don't care how fresh the groceries were, you don't treat customers like that. read more

I ordered again to my home address. Guess what? they cancelled my order again and sent my same e-mail which I received before! So rude! I haven't get a single order from them so far!
