If you are visiting Tombstone, the mine tour us a Must! I didnt know about the tour before arriving, but it ended up being my favorite part. Buck was a great tour guide. He explained so much about silver mining, the history of Tombstone, and more. All with a few great laughs. The tours happen every hour on the hour (I believe the last tour is at 4pm) , just be sure to arrive a 5-10 minutes early. The price was very reasonable as well. read more

This was a very interesting and fun tour. Our tour guide made it very enjoyable and she was very entertaining. Pretty amazing that there's a mine underneath the town of Tombstone. It's about forty five minutes and about twenty dollars for adults. It's a great way to learn about some of the history that has helped make this city what it is. Amazing tour! We had a great tour guide! She was amazing and funny! Unfortunately I didn't catch her name. Highly recommend coming here for the tour. So much history and it's amazing how miners did all that work in the 1800s! They have a cute little petting farm in the back for kiddos. I would say if you bring little ones, you want to make sure they are able to follow directions and not run off during the tour. They can easily slip and fall if they run off. read more

We went to visit Tombstone and had a great time. I'm a huge fan of history, particularly the old west variety. We happened upon the mine and trolley tour towards the end of the day. We chose the trolley tour . Our guide Gordon was awesome. Gordon utilized a tablet which corresponded with our stops along the way. The tablet projected actual photos of the persons who made history during those times. The visual representation definitely added to the talking points and stops along the tour. Highly recommended. Great tour! We had Abby (not sure of spelling), as our tour guide. She did an amazing job of keeping us laughing and learning so much. Such a cool person! The tour was actually the best mine tour that I have been on. We got to go through so many areas and see the structure up close. Best part ****spoiler alert**** was when she lit up the entire mine only by a single candle, to demonstrate how it actually felt to be working underground with a single candle. It was so cool. Also was able to see the minerals in their natural matrix. Highly recommend this tour over any tour or attraction in the area. We went to book online but it wasn't available (about an hour before tour), so we went in person to check, and it was. So if you don't see any availability online- just stop by and ask. Dave was our guide and was very good finding out where everybody was from and making sure we were all safe and informed during our visit to this very historical silver mine. This is an interesting tour. The tour guide was good. The reason I gave it a 1-star rating was because of the group size. Before the tour started, I heard the tour company staff say that they over-sold the tickets and needed to separate the group into 2 tours. However, they did not separate the group. A large group went to the 1pm tour on March 21, 2025. We waste time waiting for all the people getting into certain locations to see and listen to the guide. At many locations, maybe too much time was wasted waiting for people and/or the locations were too small to fit the large group. The tour guide just kept talking and moving. If you are not in the front of the group, you have no idea what he was talking about and what he was pointing out. read more

Really good mine tour, highly recommend. Tombstone wouldn't exist without this mine, and mining is such an important piece of Arizona history that it's worth to see an example of how this town and the state came to be. You will definitely gain a deep appreciation for the life of miners in the 1880's. Our guide Cheryl was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and made the hour go by so quickly. The tour does not require extensive walking distance, but you will be walking over uneven surfaces, and there is a long stairway at the start (and end) of the tour...so take note if you have bad knees or have fitness limitations. There are a lot of tourist attractions in Tombstone; this is the only one I would consider a "must do". read more

Both the day tour of the Goodenough Mine and the Dinner Theatre Tour (usually every other Saturday evening) are absolutely fantastic! Even though the mine entrances are mere feet away from one another, they are very different from each other so you will have two very unique experiences! Absolutely recommend both!! read more

I wanna give a shout-out to the staff, first and foremost, who were all very friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly enjoy their profession. My folks and I opted to get the tickets for the combined mine tour + trolley tour, which lowered the price we would have paid for both individually. They made it very easy to do one or the other in whichever order you prefer, with the trolley leaving on the hour every hour. We did the mine tour first, and our guide was an older woman named Amy. She was witty and quick and knew a lot about the details of mining. She took us down into and through the interesting winding tunnels where silver ore was extracted. It was well-lit and low-hanging rocks are marked with red paint to assist those who are taller to not hit their heads; though hard hats are provided to all guests as well to wear during the experience. On a hot day, I recommend the mine tour because no matter what, it's a moderate 68°F underground, and a welcome relief to the heat up top! I later learned that they have intermediate and challenging mine tours as well, which do cost more but also last much longer and take you through more interesting areas. If I ever were to go back, I'd definitely want to try the next step up! (Note: for the intermediate they recommend 12+ yo, and for advanced they recommend adults only.) Our guide for the trolley tour was George, who had a conversational tone and drove us allllll over. It lasted approximately 45 minutes because he really showed us all the different areas of Tombstone, not just the mining areas and Allen street. We also were given complementary water, which was very welcome because it was 109°F that day! The trolley runs with the windows down, no A/C. read more

Great little fun time! Wonderful activity for the whole family. The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful, full of terrible puns and historical facts which really adds to the whacky atmosphere of the whole town. The tour itself is about a half-mile down a short flight of 60 steps so nothing intense by any means. Took my parents (they're in their 60s) this weekend and one other party had young children (4-6ish) so it's definitely accessible to all ages. I love Tombstone, it's super cheesy but they know what they've got and they lean into it all the way. Everyone in town is incredibly friendly and genuinely seems happy to be there and share their city's history, absolutely recommended! read more

We took this tour on a hot (mid-90s) early-October day and were grateful to get out of the heat and down into the cool mine for a while. Our guide, Buck, was entertaining and informative and really looked the part of an old-time miner with his white hair and Santa Claus beard! My fiancée included a stop in Tombstone as part of a weekend holiday RV trip. It was her first visit so we wanted to do something memorable. However, it was late afternoon by the time we arrived and most of the shows were done for the day. Luckily for us Parson George was out on Allen Street promoting the Ghost Tour so we decided to be brave and go along. The tour lasted a full hour and began at the entrance to the Good Enough Mine property. We then followed Parson George to the uppermost level of the mine (Level I for gamers). Following that was a trolley tour around town at several well-known haunted locations. The Ghost Tour turned out to be a series of ghost stories presented by Parson George that were related to the each of the particular location stops along the tour. All of the locations, except for the mine itself, were closed due to the late hour or because they were private residences. Never the less, Parson George gave it his all and the result was an enjoyable experience. The ticket price was also reasonable for a famous tourist town and no more than you would pay for any other comparable show in town. read more

What a great tour! We did the easy one however there are options for more difficult experiences. I was not prepared so I was in flip flops but had no problem on this tour. There were young kids on it as well. If you have a tough time climbing stairs, there are quite a few on the way out so you may want to consider that. Very informative! Our visit was about two weeks ago during Labor Day weekend. Meeting place was at the Tombstone Consolidated Mines Company on 501 Toughnut Street. We redeemed our Groupon deal at the tour ticket booth at 5th and Toughnut. We were a little early so we sat and had drinks to cool off at the Dragoon Saloon (btw, that's not a typo... dragoon is spelled with two o's) Prior to our tour we had to pick a hard hat before we could enter the mine. We proceeded to take the 60-minute underground tour of the mine led by our knowledgeable and entertaining tour guide. We would stop at certain spots or carved out tunnels inside the mine and he would talk about the area and why it was given the name. He talked about the discovery of Tombstone founded by Ed Schieffelin in 1879. He showed us tools the miners used and even an actual tin lunch pail which some miners would die from because of the amount of lead on the bottom of the tin. We walked through huge open spaces called stopes where silver deposits were mined. We saw a few gorgeous minerals and artifacts that were left behind by the miners 130 years ago... cool and interesting. Some parts are tight and could feel claustrophobic depending on how large your group is. Overall, interesting and fun. They also offer longer tours where there are more climbing, crawling and flashlights needed. Don't forget to tip your guide at the end of the tour. He'll appreciate you... Review #0366 read more
