The beer was cold and the banter kept my mind off the less-important things. There's definitely a community here. Parking isn't all that great, but that's a good reason to forego driving and be a passenger if you plan on spending any time here as you probably will.

Anyway, by the time I flew into CWA (Central Wisconsin Airport) and drove to Marshfield, I ended up at Bey's Bar, which turned out to be just the perfectly unassuming Midwestern tavern that I expected to find in what may be the friendliest city in Wisconsin. Our host, Dave (who was also the owner), treated my co-workers and I to the perfect combination of hospitality, entertainment (which included Dave's masterful playing of the stump fiddle) and $1.25 beers. By the time we stumbled out of Bey's that night we felt like we had made more friends than we had back home in Cali. If you ever find yourself in Marshfield, Wisconsin, do yourself a favor. Shoot a couple games of pool and have a couple of beers at Bey's. Get to know the locals a little bit. Chances are you won't find a more geniune and comfortable American pub in whatever city you come from.
