One of the guys who was moving my things, decided to text me, during and after the move, FOUR videos of himself MASTURBATING; along with saying: "Hope it makes that W drip." When I left a review on a different site and notified owner via text that this occurred, he immediately called me and advised that he wishes I would have called him first before writing the review; and insinuated that I must have done something to provoke the guy to send me the videos because he has been working there for two years and it is "out of character" for him. WHO DOES THIS?!? I have the texts, videos, and proof that it is in fact the guy who was moving my things. It's unbelievable. read more

Quick and thorough!! Even packed stuff from the house that we told them needed to stay! Boxes made the trip fine, all my wood furniture was scratched and my dining buffet has a broken leg now. These guys were great! They loaded up and dropped off a 1200 sq ft home within two hours. That includes going from downtown to just north of the outer belt. They were very helpful. Our house is evil and hates making things easy. Movin the washer and dryer must've sucked but they got it out like nothin. Unload was quick and in good shape. I read many positive reviews about Good Hands Moving so decided to hire them since i had bad experiences in the past. Jason who runs the business came himself even though he doesn't do Afternoon jobs and made sure everything i had was loaded in the truck correctly to utilize space and even though i booked them for 2 hours they finished in an hour and half with half an hour to spare so they packed my flat screen TV and secured it in place in the truck. They are very effiecient, communicative, arrived on time and had positive energy! I totally recommend them! read more

Out of all the movers I've hired in Columbus, Good Hands Moving was the best! My bestie was moving to Columbus, and I was in charge of hiring movers to help unload her stuff from the Uhaul truck. And of course this was all at the last minute - we're talking about the Saturday before a Monday afternoon arrival. I had heard about movinghelp.com where you can hire movers for a couple of hours, so I went to the site to check it out. Good Hands Moving had the highest rating, so I scheduled the move - and that was it! A few hours later, Jason gave me a call to confirm the details of the move. He even even super accommodating with the move time since we really didn't have a clue when the Uhaul would arrive. On moving day, Jason and his helper showed up right on time, and they were so friendly professional. I think I was just expecting two "good old boys" to come help us move - which would have been fine - but these guys are real movers! They were so fast and completely unloaded the 1BR apartment in under two hours, but they were extremely careful with all the items too. Good Hands did a really terrific job, and I will totally hire them again for my next move! read more

Beyond awful, DO NOT HIRE. We booked our move with Good Hands Moving for 12/29; when crew showed up and we showed them the extent of the job they said they would need more hours and more crew to complete. We told them that was perfectly fine, and we would pay for however many hours and people were required to complete move. They couldn't get any more movers out to help, and job was cancelled after 3 hours due to inclement weather. I spoke with the owner that day, and told him we understood why they couldn't complete the move on 12/29, but we were contractually obligated to be out by midnight on 12/30--we had sold the home and our possession only lasted through 12/30. He assured me they would have the move complete in that time frame. The next evening my husband and I spoke to the owner in person, in order to get the accounting of crew size and total hours in order--we told him we wanted to make sure we were compensating them properly. He told us it was his fault for not asking enough questions about the move prior to scheduling, and again promised our move would be completed. After promising our move would be completed by midnight on 12/30, the contractor again failed to abide by their verbal agreement. They told us they would come back the next day with their own truck to finish, and when they were an hour late to arrive, we reached out and were told they were not coming, and they considered the move complete. We had to scramble to find people willing to help us on New Year's Eve, had to pay them twice their rate ($600 total), and are now being sued for breach of contract because we were not out of our home by the date of our contract. This will cost us thousands in attorneys fees at minimum. "Good Hands" Moving also damaged a family antique that was recently appraised at $2300. In all, hiring this contractor is going to COST US nearly $10,000 and we are strongly considering taking them to small claims court for the full amount. The owner has been rude and confrontational as we've tried to work towards a resolution, has lied about his promise to complete our move, and has implied we were trying to get services for free, after telling us it was his fault for not getting enough details, and after refusing additional payment. He has refused to accept any responsibility. We actually liked his crew quite a bit, but owner is AWFUL. I completely agree with what other reviewers have said about this company--no professionalism. If they don't feel like moving on the day you've scheduled and paid for, then you're up a creek. read more

Unfortunately I had a similar experience to some of the below in terms of the fact that the movers do not seem to have any concern for the items they are moving - various items were dropped and damaged during the move and despite this happening literally in front of us no one even acknowledged it until a family member asked about it. Pros: easy to communicate with and they agreed to come later than planned after a delay on our trip to our destination. It was super nice of them to do this and we really appreciated it! Cons: various items were dropped and damaged during unload - we drove our own truck, they helped with unload up flights of stairs and quite a few items were dropped and banged against doorways during unload. I debated whether to leave this review as I felt very grateful they came later than planned to help us be able to complete our move the day we wanted, but after seeing the below reviews I felt compelled to give a heads up to other people about the lack of concern for the items they are moving. read more

DO NOT HIRE! Please read the review below under Candice before considering these people. She was kinder to them than she should have been. Other additions that should have been added to that review. They were over 90 minutes late and sent their back up squad. Two early 20 somethings that reeked of weed. Don't care if they smoke on their own time, but if I'm hiring you to move my antique furniture, DON'T BE HIGH!!! After damaging the antique furniture they sent the crew that was supposed to show up. These guys looked like experienced movers. They photographed the damage, agreed it was their fault and left. The following day, the owner tried to trick my wife in to settling for the cost of the hire. When I spoke up (he was unaware I was on the line as well) he became extremely hostile and told me "I'm speaking with your wife... not you". He was clearly trying to take advantage of the situation. This company has no values and do not value your time or valuables. As noted, they refused to pay to get the furniture replaced and fought any and all BBB requests. Insurance should have covered this but they wanted to settle for 5-10% of the cost. Do not hire these people! read more

I have waited almost 7 months to write this review in hopes that Jason, the owner of Good Hands Moving, would work with us to resolve our issue. However, he has been steadfast in his unwillingness to take responsibility for the damages his movers caused, and so I feel compelled to write this review to warn others who might consider using Good Hands to proceed with extreme caution. We found ourselves needing to move states in a month's time and the mover recommended to us was unavailable. Due to the quickness of our move, we decided to rent a truck and hire movers on both sides of the move using movinghelp.com. Good Hands has good reviews on that site and I chose them over another company that said they just used college students as their movers. Fast forward to moving day, our movers loading the truck were awesome - incredibly professional and even helped us carefully wrap all of our valuable furniture with furniture pads and moving plastic wrap. This was important to us since we have inherited my grandmother's dining room set, which is lovely, old, and irreplaceable. We get to Columbus and two Good Hands movers arrive to unload our truck. The next thing I knew I was hearing a horrible sound as our movers drag our antique cherry wood table across our concrete landing because they can't figure out how to get it in the door. Multiple problems here, first and foremost that they deliberately removed the protective covering in the yard, which we hadn't seen, before trying to move the table in the door - protective covering that would have protected the table if it was carelessly set on the ground on its side like it was. Second, moving a dining room table in a door is moving 101. As soon as we saw what they were doing, my husband and father in law jumped in to instruct them on this basic moving technique but it was too late, the damage had already been done. There were long scratches and gouges all along one of the long sides of the table. We immediately called Jason to let him know and he sent two of his other movers over to document the damage. The day after, we spoke to Jason again and he offered to refund the money we paid for the move, but we declined and said we'd like to estimates on repair before settling on an amount. He indicated that was fine. I worked to get estimates on the repair and one said the cost would be almost $2000 and another came in at around $1000. I sent him both estimates and let him know we'd be willing to move forward with the lower quote. He was unresponsive until I threatened getting a lawyer. That finally merited a response but even after that, he once again went unresponsive. Now, here we are months later and all he has been willing to offer after being forced to respond by the BBB is around $100. I understand this is a small business, so even though this was 100% their fault, we were willing to work with them to find a resolution that would feel fair to both of us. However, they have been unwilling to offer more than a fraction of the cost of repair to an irreplaceable item that has been in my family for over 50 years. This all is demonstrative of this company's business ethics, how it values customer service, unwillingness to work to find a resolution in a timely manner, and overall empathy. Shame on me for not doing more research on this company before hiring them (please don't make my mistake!). But shame on Good Hands Moving for not taking responsibility for the damage they caused. read more

**DO NOT HIRE** I hired this company to move my grandma who is 87 years old. I paid for 2 workers for 4 hours. Only 1 worker came. My 57 year old father and 65 year old uncle had to help move all of the heavy furniture that the one worker could not move on his own. The owner of the company reached out and gave a reason as to why the other worker did not appear and said there would be a refund. He asked for the address of where to send the refund. My grandma moved in June and I still haven't seen the refund, After MULTIPLE text messages and phone calls to this company, not ONE text or call has been returned and the refund has never been received. I will NEVER hire this company again and will make sure any one that needs movers does not hire this company. So unprofessional. read more

I used Good Hands Moving twice and will never use them again. For the first load they presented a caring, friendly attitude, and honestly the first load went fairly well. When we unloaded we did note some boxes that had collapsed a bit, but as we packed them ourselves we didn't think too much of it. And it was because of the results of the first job that we hired them for the 2nd truckload, including the drive to our new home this time. As they loaded the truck, I was concerned about their drive to get as much on as possible, knowing that an overfilled truck might cause issues. As the load went on they got more tired and more careless. I told them repeatedly to worry about keeping things safe rather than just worrying about volume. They didn't listen. As they unloaded the truck, that's when things started to go bad. Almost all of our furniture had some sort of damage from incorrect packing. Some were minor scratches, others not so much. I was surprised that they unloaded our piano last as it was right at the back end of the truck. Once I saw it I wondered if they had left it to last to delay my dismay. The piano came off the truck with major damage to the case. That is when things went bad quickly. Jason immediately started blaming me for the overloaded truck. He also said that he had given me a discount on the move so he wasn't going to take responsibility for the damage. To date they have never taken any sort of responsibility for damage. We have since found some scratches on almost every piece of furniture they moved for us. Jason's team was supposed to make one more trip to our old house to move some of the remaining furniture to the first floor. Jason never attempted to complete this for us. In short, if you value your furniture, use another mover. I wish I had. read more

I used their services today and had a awful experience the movers took an extremely long time to load, left many things because they packed the truck very inefficiently. When we got to my new place we had to help unload and my friend with me had to crawl up my steps to help support my washer and dryer being moved. They left with half my truck still loaded and I had to hire a second set of movers to finish unloading. They left my bed slats in my bedroom at my old apartment claiming they couldn't get them out of room, neglected to tell me this till they were closing my truck. When I went back this evening to my old apartment I was able to get my bed slats myself although they will not fit in my car which is why I hired movers and a moving truck. Also found out when my second movers were unloading my truck they bent my entire frame. This was an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience. read more

Cannot actually review their services, since they showed up but then cancelled on us, but this was the worst customer service I've ever experienced. They showed up to our 3rd floor apartment and after a few minutes of chatting, we were told by the owner of the company "I can tell you are going to be very anal..." And then he refused to work with us and left. We were left completely stranded, our lease had ended and of course we could not find any other movers on such short notice. I recently relocated long distance from Atlanta, GA and didn't want to deal with unloading the moving truck after loading it and driving it for 9 hours, so I looked into hiring movers. Like others, I noticed Good Hands had decent ratings so I gave them a call. Jason was courteous and efficient in letting me know the details on how to arrange their services. What surprised me most was the price. Their rates are much better than their competitors. They showed upon time and were done unloading the truck in 2 hours. I wished this website allowed us to rate 10 stars!! Here's my story.... We just moved to Columbus from Texas, and have been waiting for our apartment to be finished ( new construction ). We finally got the work on Wednesday that our apartment would be ready Thursday evening.. which was GREAT! since we had already given notice at the temp housing complex and had to extend it twice due to delays in construction. So on Wed I'm frantically trying to find movers for Friday. I went through uhaul the first time.. ordered crazy expensive labor to get me moved out of storage units, and into my brand new apartment. I "hire" one crew... and never hear from them.. I call them all day Thursday, with it going to voicemail.. and NO calls back ( surprise! ). I was starting to panic!!! FINALLY, at 11:30pm on Thursday, I go back to MovingHelp.com, and look for some other assistance ( knowing that at this point, I was probably out of luck )... But then I came across Good Hands Moving... I took a chance, and placed an order.. for the following afternoon.. ( about 13 hours notice ). Jason called early the following morning to confirm the time, and the location.. He CALLED.. he was PLEASANT, and PROFESSIONAL on the telephone.. it was amazing!!! We agreed to meet at the apartment to unload truck load #1 between 12 and 1pm. ( Since my partner and I spent all morning loading the truck by ourselves ). We get to the apartment, only to find the elevator not working..(LOSING MY MIND at this POINT ). Jason and his partner showed up at 12:30, and OMG! he took the news of the elevator in STRIDE! Fast forward 2 hours, and the truck is now emptied. They followed us to the storage unit for load number two.. They help load, and then followed us BACK to the apartment to help unload. We originally contracted the two guys for 3 hours.. and they ended up staying for 4.5 hours.. to GET THE JOB done... and this job wasn't easy.. I have a HUGE book collection, which would be no problem had we had an elevator... Yes, my partner and I pitched in, and helped with packing the truck, and unloading..... and yes, we took responsibility for wrapping our own goods... but I will tell you.. These guys are PROFESSIONAL, COURTEOUS, ON TIME, PROMPT, AND WILLING TO GO THE EXTRA MILE to help me out of an extremely difficult situation.. I will definitely HIRE these guys the next time I need to move, and will sing their praises to anyone who will listen!!!! read more

Is it possible to give zero stars? That is what I would prefer to do. I called to make an appointment and get a quote and left a message and they didn't call me back. For whatever reason I decided to try again and when he did finally answer the phone, the owner was rude. I asked about what their insurance is for moves and apparently using the word "insurance" is a no-no for this guy, because he promptly told me that movers don't have insurance, they have COVERAGE. Ok, that's fine, this is my first time using movers and I don't know these things. But apparently this was enough for him to decide that he doesn't want to provide me moving services. Based on several of the other reviews, probably because his company breaks stuff and he doesn't want to move anyone who cares about their property. Do not use these movers. read more

I attempted to go after the company for a refund but discovered that I don't have any options! They aren't registered with any organization because they aren't a real business! I hired Jason to help me load a storage bin a few months ago and that went very well. Recently I hired him to help unload that same storage bin and also pack the rest of my house into a truck then unload it at my new house. Jason and his team did a wonderful job and worked fast while also taking good care of my belongings. DO NOT HIRE!!!! This was my second cross country move, and first time using Good Hands. My 3 day West to East coast move went wonderfully and not one thing was damaged. This move (2 days driving) resulted in SEVERAL items being damaged including the control panel on my treadmill. Items were NOT well situated and upon opening the back of the truck, I heard something catching on the door - it was my treadmill. It was so poorly positioned, that I could not even get the door opened without causing further damage. The locking mechanism that keep the treadmill up for transport was also broken off. Some heavier boxes were placed on wardrobe boxes crushing them in on one side. A shelf unit that was well wrapped and padded broke in half. I wish I had stood by the truck like a hawk watching them load it. I assumed a professional moving company would know how to load a U-Haul truck. All other movers I have used in the past always arrived in their company's truck (even for one way moves) not tier personal cars. I feel like this was some random company who provided miscellaneous labor, not experienced movers. read more

From the beginning the lead mover was passive aggressive making little condescending comments. He seemed irritated I was trying to be on top of things with my move. They were not careful with my stuff and were way more concerned with speed. I agree speed is important but not more important than being careful with a customer's belongings. Apparently no one has told them you can be fast and careful. I have expensive computer equipment that was banged around and a broken desk that was on its side when he threw a heavy duffel bag on top of and it snapped immediately and he just said 'o it's broke. I made a simple comment about how to move an item and the mover blew it up into this big thing like I was personally attacking him and wouldn't let it go. They were 15 minutes late and we finished 10 minutes early, so I paid for 25 minutes I didn't get, that could have been used more wisely if they slowed down and had been more careful with my stuff. There were times I had to bite my tongue and play nice because I could tell the lead mover was not a reasonable person and things would have escalated. The truck seemed to be packed nicely but I cringe at thinking how he went about it. I don't like to make trouble for people but I feel like I needed to write this. This is my first encounter with movers and I don't think I will use movers again. read more
