Moral to the story, our furniture is now in our new house. That is the only good news. How they went about moving the furniture, not so good. 3 guys showed up at our old house, with 2 trucks. They were not wearing "uniforms" or tshirts to identify or represent themselves professionally. It was a very hot day, so I will give them grace for that. None of the furniture was wrapped to protect it from damage. The items were just loaded on the truck with the hope that it didn't fall or scrape against the other furniture. When they arrived at the new house, one of the movers took his sweaty tshirt off and layed it on our driveway to "dry out". At one point, there were 3 sweaty tshirts laying in the driveway. Again, I know it was hot, but that seemed a bit unprofessional. 2 of the 3 movers seemed very tired and not in the best shape to move furniture. They sighed loudly a lot and mumbled about having to move stuff down the stairs. Again...it was very hot, but I didn't expect our fabric furniture to be moved/balanced using a very sweaty head....so our couches and cushions had sweaty round wet spots that were very visible to the eye and to the touch. IF the furniture had been wrapped/protected, the sweat stains would not have been an issue. Now I feel like I need to have my couch and cushions cleaned. They damaged our hand rail taking stuff downstairs--again, no protection on the furniture. When I noticed the bashed up handrail (in our new built home) I threw towels over them to protect from further damage. Why did I have to do that? Shouldn't they? While moving another piece of furniture, they scraped and scratched the brand-new door, when I called out that they damaged the door the response was "that's what you get for having big furniture." Really? It's MY fault that you were careless? After being told that a desk needed to be moved downstairs the comment was made "there is already enough furniture in that room." I am guessing he didn't want to move anything else down the stairs? We told him to leave it and we would just do it then.....but he conceded and moved it. Lastly, the group appeared to be done moving our stuff and were gathering their water bottles and heading to the truck when I mentioned that we were missing a piece of furniture in our dining room. I was met with "oh yea, we had a casualty." I asked what happened. I was led to my garage and shown our custom designed, Amish built in Holmes County by Laverne Yoder, dining room buffet sitting on its end with the leg broken off--splintered up the whole back of the unit--just snapped right off. This isn't something that can be fixed easily as it is a solid piece of oak. I also don't think they were going to tell me about it. They didn't mention it until I asked where the piece was. Again, it was mentioned that our furniture was heavy and it broke taking it off the truck. well...if you had WRAPPED IT, and handled it with some care, it likely wouldn't have happened. This will be an expensive fix. The unit is currently sitting on books because it has no back leg. I am shocked that we were blamed for the issues because we have heavy furniture. You are a moving company. You move furniture for a living. We had a quote from another company but went with Mr Mover because they were less expensive. That other company was moving a neighbor the same day. They had more people there, all were dressed in matching tshirts with company logo, and ALL the furniture going into their house was wrapped in protective material. My advice, pay more and get peace of mind that your furniture and your home will be protected. We have a BRAND new home....with damaged doors and railings, a very nice custom piece of furniture that will be expensive to fix and a sweat-stained sectional couch and cushions. We were planning a move from Columbus to Orlando. After talking with all the big recognizable moving companies and some "finds" that are a little under the radar, we were super frustrated with the poor options we were finding. Given the quotes we were getting, it was a little disheartening. Somehow, we stumbled upon Mr Mover of Ohio. Random internet rabbit hole thing! I spoke with Pam and she wasn't sure they'd be the best value--which makes me laugh thinking of it. The level of attention we got from this family business still blows my mind. They understood that we were driving two older pets down in our car and we were hoping to make that transition as smooth as possible. On the day of the move, Pam called right on time and arrived with her husband Jeff. They were all super professional and efficient. And friendly and playful. We loved these people! The move in was just as seamless. It was fast and friendly, with two of the same fellas moving us in. I literally have no complaints--and I always have something to complain about. Not only the service, but the professionalism of this company was beyond disappointing. This was for a long-distance move from Columbus to Charlotte, NC. I originally went with Mr. Mover even though their quote was significantly higher than most, because of the service they promised. Their movers, not contracted help, would load the truck, stay with the truck, and unload the next morning. The day before the move I had a walk through with the driver. Everything was packed. We reviewed every item. He took pictures and notated everything. I had extra boxes and packing material as I had a few questions about how to pack some large art pieces, mirrors, televisions, etc. He confirmed that these items would be bubble wrapped, blanketed and propped up in the truck and I didn't need to do anything additional. Wednesday morning, 4 movers showed up and they loaded the truck. Not before they began taking personal items out of my dressers and armoires because they were too heavy. I felt violated they were going through these items despite me asking them on multiple occasions of the furniture needed to be emptied and they assured me it didn't. Fast forward to drop off the next morning. Only the driver came to Charlotte. They contracted local help, who never showed. The driver had to get his computer out to "post for additional help". One additional mover showed up 2 hours later. This was a 5k# move up a third floor walk-up with steep stairs. The company was informed of this. This was at least. 4-man job. At the end of the day the men were exhausted. They rushed me through the final placement of items and inventory because the driver, who had been on the clock since 7:30 am had to get in the truck and drive by himself the 7 hours back to Columbus. This is the same man who loaded and drove solo the day before and probably made 100 trips up the three flights in humid 85 degree weather. The safety of their employees - as well as other on the road. Is obviously not a priority. Many of my items were damaged (documented in photos) and a large commissioned piece of artwork didn't make it. When I contacted Mr. Mover I spoke with Pam Jones. She is a #$&@&. Very rude. Insulting. Instead of apologizing for not providing the level of service I paid for she asked me questions such as, "Well, where do you think your missing items are?" - I paid them to ensure all of my items made it here. I'm not a detective. You figure it out. "Why weren't your items packed in boxes?" Because your driver and I reviewed all items and they ensured me they would wrap and pack the oversized items. Oh, and they kept all of the oversized boxes I purchased that they didn't use. Then she laughed at me when I was telling her how upset I was about my grandma's cedar chest. That was enough to end the call. Save yourself the additional hassle of using a company that doesn't honor it's promises or make any attempts to right it's wrongs. Spread the word. read more

Mr Mover of Ohio was AMAZING to work with!!! I moved into a 3rd floor apartment on a day where it was above 90 degrees. The two men that showed up busted their butt and walked up and down the stairs with a purpose. They were extremely respectful and I will be using this company anytime I have to move! Cheapest price I could find and it was TOTALLY worth every penny! They unloaded the truck within an hour and although you have to pay for a 2 hr minimum, I did not mind paying for the hour I didn't use. They were extremely efficient! I hired this company from a personal friends experience. Found out my cousin worked there. When they moved my furniture due to a remodel I was having done, they took care of my move without a hitch. Was surprised when I had to pay the two men individually and not Mr. Mover. When they returned to move everthing back, they damaged my stainless steel refrigertator. I sent pictures same day. After several calls, I was told someone would be coming to take a look at it. His background is a detective, not a specialist on appliances. He said he could see the scrathes and the plastic that was pulled from our refrigerator to view ice maker etc.. Told me he would contact someone to have it buffed out and the plastic replaced. I have sent Pat several emails asking what the status was. This was her response: Toni, We do not take responsibility for the scratches on your refrigerator. First of all we had no contract with you to move the refrigerator. You chose to hire the men yourself and pay them directly. You say after cleaning the refrigerator you noticed the scratches. Maybe they were there when the men moved it. In any case we do not take responsibility for the damage. Pat Pat, Really! Were you even going to tell me this or did I have to press you into the response. I have been completely honest with you about everything. I take offense to your last statement. As far as a contract with me we never spoke of this at all. I was surprised that I had to pay these men individually, that was never explained to me at all. I hired Mr. Mover to do the work. I kept in contact with you regarding everything. If I was going to hire individuals why would I have hired you? There were never any scratches before the refrigerator was moved. In fact it was delivered and installed by menards, who inspected it before leaving. This is the first it has ever been moved. I will be taking this further. This company was probably one of, if not the worse moving experience I have came across Ohio. The lack of communication, professionalism, and organization was shocking. I had called 2 months in advance to set up a moving week. Specific weeks, days, and hours were given well in advance. I was told someone would be sent to my location to view what material I had to be moved. The gentleman who showed up came 2 weeks later as I had to call back to ensure someone was actually coming out. In other words, they forgot I had made these arrangements with them. As I called 2 months prior for these arrangements, I was thanked and was appreciated I called so far in advance because they had nothing booked for the week I needed. A month out from my dates needed, I was then told they were slammed and could not offer their services. The lack of communication and organization is disappointing. Contacted Mr. Mover and worked with a very helpful, Judy setting move up. I needed a move Saturday of memorial weekend. I emailed pictures of what all was involved and Judy was a great communicator, once on the Sunday before the move. We needed a switch out of a bedroom suit from my wife's mom's estate to our house, and then estate furniture in Coshocton, moved to Newark and Columbus to my son and daughter's. Included was a piano and grandfather clock to Columbus. Father/son Greg and Zach were awesome. They were fast and very careful with everything. They even set up our bedroom and put bed together. Greg was great with their huge truck getting it where it had to be. Our whole family will be using them again, without hesitation when my son and daughter buy yheir own house. Mr. Mover made several promises in their sales pitch that just didn't happen or come true. They never provided carpet protection and the carpets had to be cleaned which they then in turn denied and claimed the carpets were already dirty. There was particularly abusive/poor attitude displayed by one of the movers whom also that spent a lot of time stating that he had other "real" jobs and didn't need to be there. As where Mr. Mover claims he was a part time employee, I'm not sure he was aware that he was considered one. There were in total 4 pieces of broken furniture including bed rails on bunk beds, a hutch to an office desk, a small book shelf and an arnwar, a broken light fixture on a ceiling fan, some walls scratches, a piece of broken trim and a piece of the edge of the laminate from the countertop. More than two weeks has gone by since the move and nothing has been fixed and there is a lot of resistance to pay for anything at all much less be accountable for the employees behavior. When it was time to collect at the end, the crew had the wrong totals and would not call in to verify the "not to exceed contract" price I had in writing. I was forced to write a check for the wrong amount which I immediately in turn placed a stop payment on before they even left the neighborhood. Finally there was a huge problem with the same above stated mover that attempted to help himself to a large bag of items that were intended for donation. They continue to try and downplay this incident as if it didn't happen or shouldn't matter given their view of my intentions on what to do with my items. It was extremely un-nerving to know this person was eyeballing my belongings long enough to make a determination that I shouldn't mind where they went if I was donating them anyway. Management and even the owner have accused me of making it all up. Like I have nothing better to do. The matter is still unsettled. The light was fixed by me. It is unknown if the damages to the old property have been addressed as the new owners were provided the information to this company. I would never recommend this company for there is a blantant disregard for people's belongings and no accountability what so ever. They are only concerned with doing what they legally have to do and who cares about the rest. One of their persons tried to steal from us and they are doing absolutely nothing about it. read more

We contacted Mr. Mover after calling a bunch of Columbus movers for a last minute quote on an unload of a truck (something that would take an hour to an hour and a half). The most famous and corporate movers gave me a quote that was higher than my New York quotes per hour! The other two had reasonable hourly rates for two men, but one (with a minimum of two hours) was not available and the other wanted to charge a minimum of 3 hours AND a truck fee even if we did not need their truck! In despair and lack of yelp options, googled movers columbus and fell on Mr. Mover. A five minute conversation was enough for us to be set with two movers at a cheaper rate than any quoted but a minimum of 3 hours, which was perfect! The two men came on time (within 15 minutes of the given time, which is on time in my book), and were so pleasant, kind, and careful unloading. They did it in a breeze, always asking us where we wanted items to go and carrying them upstairs. It look them less than an hour! Highly recommended. read more

Overall rating, 2/5. Management, 1/5; Packers 1/5; Unpackers 5/5. Packers: Punctual. Seemed good at first, but as the job wore on, they became hurried and careless. When we began to vacate sold home, we discovered boxes that they had forgotten to load. When we began unpacking at destination, we found many unmarked boxes. Many boxes with so many different rooms in one box, it made no sense. Individual packs of Jello were actually wrapped in paper; old tie wraps from bread and old plastic lids from junk drawers were packed in paper. The craziest things were wrapped in multiple sheets of paper. Yet, an expensive canvas oil painting was rolled in our best Pendleton blanket wrapped with shipping tape. As they were packing, they kept eliminating things saying they couldn't pack those...this resulted in a panic evacuation from our sold home, scrambling to clean out the home of the items we were told at the last minute, they couldn't pack. One packer was complaining to my wife about a lady who made him unpack a box because she needed something he had packed; we have delicate, expensive medical devices we use daily. My wife had these laid out on the bed next to its padded carrier ready to pack. She was called downstairs by another of the packers and asked him not to pack the device. When she returned, the guy had packed it already. Thinking it would be delivered the next day and knowing how annoyed they get when asked to "unpack" something, she let it go. Well, turns out not only did he pack it, he didn't even bother to put it in the special carrying case. We were without medical devices for 5 days that we needed to use daily. 1 out of 5 stars. There's more, but onto the unpackers. UnPackers: Arrived on time. This crew seemed much more efficient and organized and friendly. They were quite helpful and apologized many times for the number of unmarked boxes that we had to just end up putting in the basement to sort through later. They assembled the beds and went the extra mile to accommodate us. Nice job. 5 out of 5 stars. Management: 1) Way off on their estimate...not only of cost, but of size of move. Ended up having to send an extra truck. 2) The weather projection for the day of move for the area we were moving was for blizzard, white out conditions. I kept mentioning this to them, but they insisted they'd been through worse and planned to continue with move. I arrived before them, and sure enough, the weather was awful at the time. My driveway was cleared though. The roads were nasty. I received a call saying they were not going to unload because the weather was treacherous and were going to return to origin of move (170 miles away)...they drove right past my house without unloading! The weather actually cleared up 2 hours later. Had they adopted a less hysterical solution, like maybe parking and having a lunch instead of heading home, they'd had been able to unload two hours later that day. 3) Two days later they called and said they didn't know when they could deliver. They then asked us if we'd pay half of the fuel expense for their return trip!! Of course, we couldn't do that; not our fault, sheesh! Plus, they estimated our move to be 5-7k and ended up charging us $7420. So, we were without medical devices, change of clothes, beds, chairs, everything for 5 days...nothing but an empty house and the stuff we moved that they left behind. Terrible experience--Something we have dubbed: "National Lampoon's Moving Day." read more

I went with Mister Mover based on a friend's recommendation and I wasn't disappointed. I booked them to load my Uhaul for an out-of-state move and the guys were great. They were quick and very efficient with packing the truck; the movers in New York said that they did an amazing packing job! My one complaint was that I had taken apart two coffee tables, and for some reason they just put the table tops directly on the floor where they could get scratched up. I caught that before setting off though so no harm done. All in all, a great service and can't beat the price ($60/hour with a 3h minimum). read more

I used Mr Mover in the past and the movers have always been very courteous and professional. The office staff have also been great and easy to work with. I would give their movers a 5 star rating. Here is my issue with Mr Mover. I had 85 boxes to move to a location about 12 mins away. I was told it was $180 an hour. The move took 45 mins total. My bill was $360.00. I had a check ready to go for $180.00. When I called the office she stated that we always charge for 1/2 an hour drive time to the job and 1/2 drive time when leaving the job (which was not stated in her email - just $180 an hour). So that means that the person at the other job is also paying 1/2 an hour for the drive to their home or office. I had a quote for $250 for the entire job and I am kicking myself for not going with the other company. Call around if you have a smaller job and do not pay the 1/2 an hour drive time when they leave your place. That will be a double payment because the other client is paying a 1/2 an hour drive time to get them there. read more
