Not sure how to start but all I know is that this place saved my life; It really cant be said in a more simple way. I had been to a multitude of treatment centers all with the same "cookie cutter" approach. Nothing had worked.. I had duggin myself into such a deep whole I thought that was it. Then I made the call from a homeless shelter, and a super kind person answered the phone this was the first sign of hope. That person later turned out to be the owner of the treatment center. The next day i was picked up from the homeless shelter, brought to the sober lving then the treatment center. I felt heard for the 1st time in my life and i was 28 years old, the enitre staff from owners to sober lving managers were focused on nothing but our security, progress and mental health.Goodheart recovery is the one of the only reasons i am alive today. This place is the biggest blessing, if you have the chance to go here GO no mater what your situation is you will grow just by walking through the door.. Good Heart will always be close to me. I felt like such an outcast for so long. I had pushed myself away from everyone and everything because I felt so different and believed that others wouldn't understand. From the moment I stepped into the outpatient and sober living, I felt at home. It was as if I were searching for something but didn't know what; and I finally had found it. I can safely say that everyone I came in contact with who worked there had our best interest at heart. They showed me how to love myself and how to love others by loving me when I couldn't love myself yet. They worked with me to create personal goals so that I could achieve what I wanted to without feeling scared or overwhelmed. I'm working the 12 steps now, and although Good Heart isn't 12 step based, I truly don't know how I would continue if I hadn't gone there first. They helped me fill something that had been empty for a long time, and showed me how to be when I didn't know how. I really do have love for everyone who is a part of Good Heart. read more

This place has a certain magic to it. Everything I find lacking in the traditional rehab setting is incorporated into Goodheart's treatment. The staff, many of which have first hand experience with addiction offer not just wisdom and guidance, but authentic empathy and kindness. They taught me to be forgiving of myself while I explore the inner workings of my mind and spirit. Often times recovery centers take the militaristic "break you down and build you up" strategy...The counselors at Goodheart embraced me with open arms and told me you aren't broken, you can't be reduced to simple labels and diagnosis. My case manager worked closely with my personal therapist and psychiatrist to develop a plan before I left. I finished feeling an unbelievable level of gratefulness for welcoming me into an ecosystem of patience, love, acceptance, and recovery. Good Heart is a one of a kind program filled with staff that truly care about your well being, obviously some people have had a negative experience but from what I saw there was that everyone is treated with love and compassion and encouraged to heal at their own pace, in their own way. There are tons of really shady places out there and GHR is NOT one of them, sometimes recovery can be painful but the staff here make sure you learn to navigate that and become your best self.
