Good Lock & Key- where the customer is always WRONG! What a racket this company is running. We had several doors re-keyed after moving into our new home even though all the hardware was brand new, we didn't know which contractors or realtors could have a key to our home and weren't going to take the chance. Mehdi came out and re-keyed 8 cylinders but charged us for 9. Why? Who knows, but my husband unfortunately didn't notice it at the time. After Mehdi left we noticed the front door lock was a silver color when the hardware is all black- (its part of the look.) So now the silver keyhole looks strange and cheap next to the all black hardware. We let it slide at the time. Cut to 2 months later the same silver colored keyhole is wiggling so much it falls on to the ground making it impossible to get in the house! Nonplussed, we called Good to have them come out. They didn't show up on the day they said they would. Then when they did come out they said they never changed the color and "someone else must have done it." ??!!! After bringing up how they over charged us anyway and could they just fix it properly they said they'd have to charge us a $55 service fee and then an additional $100 for the new lock color! ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW? so they didn't make good on the money they over charged us, and they also refused to accept that they changed the lock to a color that wasn't right the first time? More like UNRELIABLE LOCK & KEY 0 Stars - TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Warning: They can't cut keys properly. I paid them to make a key copy for a padlock. It didn't work when I tried to unlock it. The key went in the lock but would not turn. I was left with no way to get my stuff from storage on moving day after renting a truck and hiring day laborers. When I called for assistance, he said all he could do is refund me. That's it. No courtesy service for helping me unlock something that should have worked the first time around, no courtesy help for correcting their mistake on something that is their area of expertise!! Perhaps send one of your technicians a few blocks down the road to break open my lock? No? He said they would charge me for that service. Clearly customer service is not their area of expertise. I don't know why our back door keeps having issues, but one day it just decided not to unlock. Good thing we have a front door, but we were about to head out for vacation and didn't want to have our friends taking care of our home and continuously have to come in the front door which isn't very easy to open either. Oh, old homes! I call Good Lock & Key who came within 30 minutes of my call. So, to fix the door (remove old knob, replace with new knob and rekey with same key as the front door) he was estimating $150. Really? It seemed pretty pricy but he explained the service call alone is $65 + labor, + parts + rekey. Wow. I'm in the wrong business because he was done in less than 20 minutes and made $150 from this short job! Half of that 20 minutes he was talking to someone on the phone in his van. He was a nice guy, and did a great job. Door opens better and unlocking is a cinch. Guess that's why I paid him the big bucks! I'd likely try a different place in the future due to the price, but if in a bind, they are a good option! read more

Just letting you all know, they close at 7:30 at their shop..but their service is 24 hours. You have to pay a $45 service fee if you want them coming to you. Bf lost his keys, and needed to get em redone, he went to the shop, and they were closed. Definitely should mention that in the bio area :/ He lives less than 5 minutes away from them, why should he have to pay a $45 fee for them to drive like 3 blocks? Ridic! I came here because my car key broke apart the other day, and the car dealership wanted to charge me $160+ to get it fixed. I went out hunting for some place cheaper. This place got great reviews so I figured, what the heck. The service was friendly enough (although it took him a while to realize I was there and turn off his youtube video). He quoted me $145 to fix my key, which is still way too much for me. However he did offer a cheaper solution, so I did appreciate that. It was literally 100 degrees outside as I waited. Locked myself out of my apt and they quoted me at $65. When the guy FINALLY showed up he unlocked my door quickly enough. When I asked what discount he was going to give me for taking over an hour to get there he said there was normally an extra $10 for 2 locks on a door, but he wouldn't charge me for that... We had a TERRIFIC experience with Good Lock & Key! The thumb press on our front door handset was getting loose and we believed we needed an entire new set. Since we have double front doors, that meant TWO new handsets. When I called for an appointment, I told Milad there was no rush because the door handle was working -- but we knew it was a matter of time before it would quit. Even with the "no rush" assurance, Milad was able to come out within 36 hours! Within a short time, Milad told us he could replace a couple of parts and have the old set working like new! He made the repair in short order, and the handle has worked like a dream since he made this repair in late March!
