Previous owners of my house installed some keyed locksets on some interior doors in the house (I don't even want to know why) and of course someone locked a door on Thanksgiving and closed it. They fixed the lock on my Mazda CX-5 driver door after someone tried to break into my car -- they didn't get in but they made a mess of my lock -- and the keyless entry no longer worked and the key wouldn't lock it either. Great skill and service! Our home in San Marino is over 80 years old and so is the lock on the front door. Today we found it locked both inside and out. First locksmith we called "South Pasadena Lock" never showed up and we later learned it's a dispatcher and guy on call was in Burbank. "Good Lock" has a legitimate store on Colorado Blvd and Mike from that store arrived on time and knew all about our 80 year old lock although his grandfather was probably a teenager when this lock was installed. Mike found a broken spring inside and made a new one using tools from his van and then re-built the lock entirely. His price was also more than fair given the uniqueness of the lock and the problem we faced. Couldn't recommend this business any more highly than writing this, my first Yelp review! read more

I am so glad I found Good Lock and Key on Yelp. My wife lost her set of key for her car. After realizing our only remaining set is bent, I decided to search Yelp. Because our keys require a transponder, many locksmiths are unable to provide the service. The locksmiths that could provide the service had a quote 40% higher than what Good Lock and Key provided. After I got to their location the owner quickly assessed the situation. Because the key was slightly bent, the owner tested the only remaining key in the doors and the ignition. There is a slight friction when turning the key in the ignition and door lock. Owner asked me if I want to get the key copied as is or gave me the option to make a new copy using the key barrel. Because the charge was so minimal (remember the owner has to take the door cover off to get to the key barrel), I decided to go to the latter route. Boy was I very happy with the result. Key turn smoothly in the ignition and doors. The service was so awesome I decided to get another spare key made. Thanks again Good Lock and Key for a job well done. We had locked our car keys in the truck bed. The 2 of them came out Sun during the lunch hour. They were already at a job and gave an ETA of 30 min (in Arcadia area) and was timely as promised. Price was just as they quoted over the phone, which was very competitive and affordable! They were super nice and when asked, they said they don't charge extra for coming out on off hrs since they're open 24 hrs. Oh and they also have a lock shop in Pasadena. Came here last month to get a duplicate keyless entry key for my husband's car and I was completely satisfied with the service they provided. I called the dealer to get a quote and they told me it would cost me $350 (+ tax and additional fees) to get the same key I got here for only $160 . WOW!!!! This place is awesome!
