Here's the good: I see why Good Luck is so highly rated among Chinese carryout restaurants. Compared to most options, this hole-in-the-wall tucked away in a small and busy parking lot next to 7/11 cooks up standard takeout dishes avoiding most of the sins and shortcuts you will befall elsewhere. Ordered takeout online late one Saturday, then made the drive out to pick up our order that was ready well-within the 25 minute window the website gave us. The restaurant is microscopic, virtually a counter with COVID precautions in the form of a transparent curtain between you and the staff. Our chicken and broccoli tasted fresh and thoroughly cooked, with a sauce that was flavorful without being too strong or goopy as you might run into elsewhere. The fried rice was plenty moist, adorned with the standard fare of peas and carrots and eggs. But those dishes were also nothing special. And when it came to the appetizers, well we could have done better... the chicken wings were plenty decent, though they are seasoned more like KFC than what you'd expect from a Chinese restaurant. The crab rangoon came out on the tough side, each pocket filled with only a smattering of filling that tasted only faintly of cream cheese and crab. It's certainly possible we may order again from Good Luck. But compared some of the other highly-rated Chinese takeout restaurants at your disposal, I can't offer a compelling reason either for or against picking this specific one. read more

Good Luck is our new Chinese takeout place. I love the fact that I can order their food right from the Yelp app and have it delivered within the hour (usually 45 mins or so). We've tried all sorts of beef and chicken dishes, egg and spring rolls, dumpling soup, and of course (my favorite) crab Rangoon! This is one of those Chinese places that has worn out pictures of their food hanging above the counter and nowhere to sit. Usually means their food is great haha. I ordered their Singaporean style noodles with curry and a side of crab rangoon. The picture is how much I ate before I got full.. so their portions are pretty big and they don't skimp! It tasted a little dry but it's my first time trying this dish so maybe that's just how it's supposed to be. The crab rangoon was okay, not the best I've had but was a little hard to eat. The crust was really hard, not in a crunchy way but it felt like biting into bone that was tough to chew. There wasn't a ton of filling but overall decent enough. It comes with 6 so it was also a good amount. I would 100% come back to try more of their food because I'm sure they have tastier things, this just wasn't it for me. read more

My husband and I have been searching for a great, go to Chinese restaurant since we moved into the area 4 years ago, and I'm happy to say we've finally found it! Location was unassuming, prices were decent, fast service, spot on food. We had the crispy beef and pork fried rice. Beef was tender, thin, and just the right amount of thin batter to actually make it crispy. Sauce is slightly sweet but that's not a problem for us. No fat on the pork. I came here on Christmas day because I was still hungry from Christmas "dinner" which was really some finger foods and cocktails. I pulled up to the place and from the outside you could tell its a "hole in the wall". But some of the best tasting/seasoned food come from these places sooo..."Why Not? My first time I ordered the egg drop soup and beef with broccoli, and the second was the soup again but this time wings and fried rice. Overall the food is legit and seasoned well because sometimes you get Chinese food and its bland and season-less. The food was prepared pretty quick and even on a busy night like Christmas where it was the only type of restaurant that would be open, my wait was not long at all. The only gripe I have about this place (which is SUPER small) is that I'm not sure if they make mambo sauce. When I ordered my wings, they gave me a sauce that I assumed was Mambo...I was wrong. But its ok, because the wings were fried well and I still would recommend to anyone in the mood for Chinese. read more

A lot of different types of veggies. Unfortunately, my boyfriend found some type of chicken cartilage in it & there was also small pieces of chicken in it. Chicken lo mein was tasty & had a lot of sauce. My boyfriend kept going back for more & he's pretty picky. Sesame chicken was crispy and saucy. I'm a terrible food snob and I was knocked out by this place. Let's take two common dishes: crispy beef and sweet and sour chicken. Their crispy beef is CRISPY and manages to taste fresh without grease. Huge portion. This is a tough dish that rarely delivers even in the best Chinese restaurants, but this little place got it PERFECT. Sweet and sour chicken is the kind of dish fools order. Few restaurants actually get the batter in the chicken to be crisp, so when you bite into it your teeth seem to be cracking through very thin glass. That's exactly what Good Luck does: the chicken is tender, the batter is like a crisp baguette glaze, and you will never again have sweet and sour chicken anywhere else that even remotely compares to this one. Good luck getting any competent customer service from this restaurant. I have family visiting and we decided to order Chinese food tonight. I placed an order through Yelp at which point the app crashed. Not sure whether my order went through, I checked my credit card app and it showed two pending charges for this restaurant. My mom called the restaurant to confirm the order had gone through and mentioned the double charge. She was told everything had gone through and that the second charge would likely just drop off since it was in pending status. 45 minutes later my dad calls to get an update on our order. They tell him they DID NOT receive an online order. Then why did they tell us the first time we called everything came through?! I called back quite upset and was repeatedly put on hold and cut off as the person on the phone took other calls. She kept blaming yelp and saying the order didn't go through. Fine, that's not their fault. But I was reiterating the fact I was upset they told us it DID go through. Plus now I have pending charges that I will likely end up having to dispute. We're now all starving and just ordered from a (hopefully better) Chinese restaurant, which now won't arrive until after 9 pm because we wasted our time on this place. This place is small and in a older building next to the 7-Eleven. It is a typical Chinese takeout place. They were very efficient and said the food would be ready in 10 minutes and it was ready in about that time during the noon hour. They have great deals on lunch specials. Fried rice and whatever you ordered. We had the General's Taos and a Triple Delight. Both were tasty. We also ordered egg rolls. I love that they gave me the soy sauce, hot mustard, duck sauce and fortune cookies without asking. I'm always in trouble because I always forget to ask and it's too late when you get home.
