We actually like the food well enough (although the batter for the fried pickles is so salty it almost hurts) but today when I ran in to pick up an order, while I was standing in line, I noticed one of the women behind the counter (I think she was doing the cleaning, not handling the food) was wearing a mask down below her chin. A few minutes later, I saw her with it covering her mouth, but not her nose. Because I'm an idiot and don't like to make waves, I paid for the food, but I don't think we'll be going back. Much, much better than the overhyped Cafe 290 everyone told me to try. Good Luck Grill is more what you'd expect from established country restaurant. Decent prices, generous portions, and good food. Only downside is the drive and parking lot are in rough shape, so not the best if you have a car. More of a Jeep/Truck kind of road. read more

It was with a bit of good luck that we found Good Luck Grill (I couldn't resist)! Great mom-and-pop shop on the edge of Manor with dinners (chicken fried steak, steak dinner, chicken fingers, etc.), burgers, sandwiches, and so on. Tonight I ordered the Triple Crown Burger w/fries (Onion Rings, Bacon & Ranch w/Lettuce, Tomato & Cheddar Cheese) and it was delicious. The burger is seasoned well and is a good size. The toppings are fresh and delicious, and the bun it's served on is soft and tasty. The fries (battered) are awesome, some of the best I have had since moving to the Austin area. My wife ordered the chili cheese fries, which she scarfed! Again, the fries are wicked awesome; chili and cheese are really good, making for a delicious. The decor is awesome, and I wish I could say my patio and yard are as great as what they have here. Gentleman playing live music on the back porch was hilarious (as were his songs)! Definitely worth the drive, especially if you want to eat outside. It's kind of like its own little oasis amid all the hustle and bustle and construction that is everywhere. This place is good has good food at good prices. I do have two complaints though. I've been there about 5 times always get the chicken fried steak my complaint with that is that they bring you this huge chicken fried steak with the baby sized portion of mashed potatoes, really???? Yall know you can do better with that. My other complaint is I went in a few days ago and noticed they have a new lady working who went to clean the tables and throw away trash from tables then went straight to the counter to pick up someone's food with out washing her hands me and my girlfriend couldn't believe it. First off I will say the cat fish was good and the pinto beans were good, everything else was subpar. Ordered sum fried shrimp and there was shell all over the shrimp and not deveined. All the singing was tacky it was saying the owners are assholes. I will keep my money. read more

Family had lunch here on Sunday. Very nice atmosphere and was very cool and comfortable. We had a variety of food! I was impressed by the trifecta...large portions of catfish, very large shrimp and oysters. Everything was cooked correctly so even the oysters were still tender. My burger was good but it didn't really stand out; just your average burger. My partners chicken fried steak was far from the best either of us have tried. I usually get the Half and Half platter. it has 4 jumbo shrimp, 4 nice catfish fillets, fries, coleslaw, and two jalapeno hush puppies. all I have to say is D LISH. My friend always and I mean always gets their Chicken fried chicken and gives it two thumbs up. Also their sweet tea is the perfect blend of goodness and I always have at least 3 servings. Really really good will definitely come back! Hubby and I went a few weeks ago and both got the chicken fried steak with mashed potato's. Mashed potato's are real and not out of a box and chicken fried steak was tender with good breading, side salad was fresh and they even had SWEET TEA! This is a cool place in the middle of nowhere. I bought a Groupon thinking it was on manor rd in Austin. My mistake it was in Manor TX. Well after the drive I found this place which at night seems to be in the middle of nowhere. The people running the place are really nice and were helpful in my selection. The Chicken fried Steak was good but it was their zucchini was A+. If i found my self in Manor again for some reason I would go again. read more

I ate at the Good Luck Grill for the first time on 25 October. Was originally impressed by how far back on the lot it was and the huge backyard area. The backyard faces towards the east so it is very conducive to a leisurely afternoon of longnecks and washers without a blazing sun to deal with or for a star filled laid back night listening to the weekend bands. Complete with picnic tables that will easily seat 6 people. And yes, Virginia, there are mosquitos in Manor. Upon entering, the place was spotless, the staff friendly and smiling, and it had a genuine welcoming atmosphere. We ordered the chicken fried steak and cheeseburger, fried pickles and fried green tomatoes. The CFS was one of the better ones I've ever had. Hand breaded and served with a decent sized salad and a side (I had the real mashed potatoes). The cheeseburger was hand formed angus on what appeared to be a local made bun. Another great example of a burger indeed. The fried pickles and green tomatoes were piping hot and perfectly cooked. This is one of those places that need to be frequented. It's a great restaurant on beautiful grounds and certainly out of the norm. I couldn't find a thing I would change about it. Unfortunately some folks (God-awful Gourmets) need a white table cloth to give a place 5 stars. Not me, and I have been in the restaurant business for 40 years. read more

Had the Western Burger with fries. It was very delicious and filling. My husband enjoyed a 4oz Chichen Fried Steak. Our dinner was right on, delicious filling and enjoyable. The employees were very friendly and prompt. I am glad we stumbled across this great, cozy little place in Manor. It is conveniently located and has a large parking area for travel trailers. What's not to love about Good Luck Grill?! The food is amazing, best catfish EVER!! You can't beat the atmosphere, live music on weekends and great outside area for the kids to play. Great prices! I drive about 30 minutes to get here, and it is so worth the traffic and travel time. I highly recommend the catfish poboy. Must try spot no matter who you are, where you live and where you are from. Represents the city it's in. Austin outskirts (represents Austin) and small town (Manor), finger licking good food.
