Very nice ethnic compact grocery store. Good selection of Eastern European specialty foods. Pleasant staff.

Really small shop. A lot of things overpriced or expired. Be careful and check expiration dates. They have caviar which is plus because I'll come back for that. It's really hard to find shop where they sell Alaskan caviar. Plus to customer service BUT if you don't speak Russian it can be difficult to ask about specific product. Cookie and candies most of them expired. Macaroni and dry food too.

I've said before that it's always great to wander ethnic grocery stores because you never know what kinds of food you will find. I've been in huge Mexican grocery stores in Texas, large Vietnamese markets here and even some big Chinese ones in New Jersey. There's so much food to try and surprisingly a lot of them are less expensive than your mass market chains. How I ended up at Good Neighbor is because of my curiosity for wandering neighborhoods I don't know. I've been spending time down in Lents because of plasma donations. So I've begun to search out the immediate area. I found this cool little grocery store and I knew I needed to go. I have been to one Russian grocery store out on 102nd, it was small and the counterwoman spoke no English. The bread was great though. This place was larger and with a great selection and I was able to ask questions. Pastries, spices, fruits, veggies, cheese puffs with a big cartoon owl and lots of Cyrillic text, dark Russian rye bread, smoked fish, various forms of beets, sausages, chocolate gingerbread cookies, candy, really small versions of bagels that were more like crackers, coffee, kafir, pickled carrot salad and so much more. Most everything was in Cyrillic writing so that's why I needed to ask questions. The pastries were beautiful. Cakes and Napoleons, éclairs and cream puffs. It was a really nice display that I didn't snap a picture of, sorry. Then all the smoked fish and many, many types of sausages and back to more savory pastries. I got a flat, oval shaped pastry filled with creamy potatoes and dill which was really nice. I also got a puff pastry filled with meat that was surprisingly sweet. Also very tasty. Along with the flakey and chocolaty Napoleon, it was a satisfying experience and I plan to go back and try more things. The two women that helped me were friendly and the food comes from all over the former Soviet Union and its Eastern Bloc countries. Too much cool stuff for one visit. I will go back shortly. Enjoy.

It's the same tiny star shape so basically the same thing. Clearly I am not the only one seeking this substitution as most Mexican grocery stores I have visited are out of Estrella, including El Campesino. But since I was there, and I love cooking Mexican food, I had to check out the little market. They have a section with panty items, snacks, produce, veggies and candy. Plus a deli where you can buy meat, cheese and hot items like whole roasted chickens, carnitas by the pound and a variety of salsas. I'm so glad I decided to stop in, I discovered a little gem! Picked up tiny alphabet pasta until they get the stars and a few bags of dry peppers, some spices, and some of the orange/red homemade salsa, the hot one. Soooo good! I'lll definitely come back for the carnitas by the pound so I can make my own tacos at home, easier! and that roasted chicken looked so good! Since I got there late, there weren't that many pan dulce left but typically they make a dozen plus varieties a day. Service was friendly. $5 min for credit card purchases. They have their own parking lot.

This 5/5 review solely for the Pâté Gan (liver spread) from the refrigerated deli near the front…read more Oh My Goodness ... I finally found something to Yelp about here! I've been a longtime, low-key regular at Hồng Phát for all things Vietnamese and random grocery needs, but this time I found my reason to shout about it. After what felt like a lifetime of hovering and debating, I finally went for it and picked up their Pâté Gan (liver spread) from the refrigerated deli case near the front. Let me tell you: SPREADABLE GOLD! 8oz hand-filled container for $5.95 and worth every single bite. Listed ingredients? Pork Liver, Pork Fat, Pork. (We all know there's more in there, but I'm not here to investigate, just to celebrate.) As a pâté-obsessed Bánh Mì DIY, this blew me away. -Texture: Silky and spreadable perfection. -Taste: Deep, rich, and satisfying without being overly gamey. - Smell: Divine, for those who love a good pâté, you know what I mean. This is officially my new go-to pâté source, alongside my other favorites scattered along 82nd Ave. TIP: Since it's hand-packed from a larger batch, look for condensation inside the container. It can give you a clue about how fresh it is and how long you've got before the quality dips. Don't just rely on the "Sell By" label. Honestly, I still can't believe I slept on this for so long with my skepticism. If you're even mildly into pâté or making your own Bánh Mì at home: run, don't walk.
