I changed my review after shopping at this place many times since they opened due to the following: 1. Many people simply just come here to take a look due to the hype and walk out with nothing or a few things due to the price. SF could be just testing the waters. Some products are sold out quickly but haven't been restocked. Some vegetables don't sell well yet are still on the shelf even though they already don't look fresh anymore. Hopefully, they can stock products accordingly in the future. 2. Free gifts with purchase from June 14th to June 16th must have drawn lots of customers. I made three visits outside that time frame and saw lots of leftover gifts unwatched, but I didn't know people could still get them after June 16th. On my last visit, I saw my relatives coming out without a gift after spending $60. Later on, I spent over $100 and nobody told me about the gifts either. In the meantime, I saw the cashiers voluntarily pointing their Vietnamese customers to that gift area. I don't care about the gifts but I just hope their CS can be more consistent. 3. The price you see on the little sticker may not match the price in the system. Pay attention during check out. Return/exchange within 24 hours is easy and hassle-free. Some (maybe all) electronics are not returnable, but they will plug it in and let you decide if you want it or not.

Stopped by Sunday evening to get some misc things. This is a good time to go when it's not very busy! There's SO much to see. Lots of imported seafood. Gotta love me some durian. Look forward to seeing what other businesses will be coming to this place. Paper bags don't have handles and they stuff them pretty full. Tip- Bring your own bags!

Don't support businesses that won't honor their posted prices.

A display of Chaokoh coconut milk was clearly marked with a price of $1.99 per can. When the cashier rang me up, the price came up at $2.49. When I pointed out the discrepancy, she went to a different aisle from where the display was and took a photo of the $2.49 price. So I went back to the display and took a photo of the posted price of $1.99, which she refused to honor. She then involved a second employee, who also insisted I was wrong despite photographic evidence to the contrary. Not honoring your posted price is a fundamentally dishonest business practice, and reading through some of the negative reviews here, it would seem that ripping off customers for a few bucks here and there is standard operating procedure for SF Supermarket. That is shameful. There are too many honest businesses around to support one that cheats their customers.

It's the same tiny star shape so basically the same thing. Clearly I am not the only one seeking this substitution as most Mexican grocery stores I have visited are out of Estrella, including El Campesino. But since I was there, and I love cooking Mexican food, I had to check out the little market. They have a section with panty items, snacks, produce, veggies and candy. Plus a deli where you can buy meat, cheese and hot items like whole roasted chickens, carnitas by the pound and a variety of salsas. I'm so glad I decided to stop in, I discovered a little gem! Picked up tiny alphabet pasta until they get the stars and a few bags of dry peppers, some spices, and some of the orange/red homemade salsa, the hot one. Soooo good! I'lll definitely come back for the carnitas by the pound so I can make my own tacos at home, easier! and that roasted chicken looked so good! Since I got there late, there weren't that many pan dulce left but typically they make a dozen plus varieties a day. Service was friendly. $5 min for credit card purchases. They have their own parking lot.

It was rather easy to locate, the store is small, but it does pack a punch. There's a lot of fun items here, you just might have to explore the aisles. I was surprised by the variety that they offer. They did have huge deli fridges and a large fridge filled with baked goods that I wouldn't mind coming back to check out. The people working were busy stocking so it took them awhile to help me check out, but they were very kind. The unfortunate thing was that one of the jaffa cakes I had purchased was already expired. I didn't realize until I got home.

In this economy I am ALWAYS out looking for bargains to share. The pelmeni are only $4.99 a lb and their wonderful selection of deli meats are probably some of the best around. Mortadella (Doctorsky) bologna or their smoked smoked sausages. We always get the (Moskovsky) one as well. Most Russian delis don't have huge selections of fresh produce but you can count on them having the staples for a Russian/Ukrainian household. I got staples like dill, potatoes, cabbage, beets, buckwheat, teas, manaya kasha, deli meats/cheeses, chocolates, sour cream, farmers cheese, freshly baked bread and kvass here. I get to practice my Russian when I come, and that's when I realize how out of practice I am, that my tongue is no longer cooperative with words that I used to be able to pronounce just fine. But they do speak English and are happy to assist you.

This 5/5 review solely for the Pâté Gan (liver spread) from the refrigerated deli near the front…read more Oh My Goodness ... I finally found something to Yelp about here! I've been a longtime, low-key regular at Hồng Phát for all things Vietnamese and random grocery needs, but this time I found my reason to shout about it. After what felt like a lifetime of hovering and debating, I finally went for it and picked up their Pâté Gan (liver spread) from the refrigerated deli case near the front. Let me tell you: SPREADABLE GOLD! 8oz hand-filled container for $5.95 and worth every single bite. Listed ingredients? Pork Liver, Pork Fat, Pork. (We all know there's more in there, but I'm not here to investigate, just to celebrate.) As a pâté-obsessed Bánh Mì DIY, this blew me away. -Texture: Silky and spreadable perfection. -Taste: Deep, rich, and satisfying without being overly gamey. - Smell: Divine, for those who love a good pâté, you know what I mean. This is officially my new go-to pâté source, alongside my other favorites scattered along 82nd Ave. TIP: Since it's hand-packed from a larger batch, look for condensation inside the container. It can give you a clue about how fresh it is and how long you've got before the quality dips. Don't just rely on the "Sell By" label. Honestly, I still can't believe I slept on this for so long with my skepticism. If you're even mildly into pâté or making your own Bánh Mì at home: run, don't walk.
